I love how there is technic driving a lot of the functions on these sets, great to see Lego combining the two systems like this. I think I have to have all three of these!
I'm not sure if anybody else pointed it out, but the stick that comes with Satipo is just the whip, straightened out, for a natural looking while swinging the chasm.
Man I'm so glad to hear that the 4th one hasn't been definitively cancelled. I'm really hoping it's just delayed. In a way it makes sense. There are a lot of releases right now from things like Disney, Avatar, Jurassic Park, etc. so it's better to push some of them back. I'm hoping Indiana Jones continues for a few years this time like Jurassic World or Harry Potter and doesn't just go away after 2 years
Can I just say how happy I am that they put the title "Raiders of the Lost Ark" on the box, and not the not-title "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark".
I think the nameplates probably had to be stickers as tampo/pad printing like has been used on all previous nameplates can’t do gradient colours. It’s a paint stamp so the transition from red to yellow to white in Raiders simply isn’t possible. It would either need hard stops between the colours or be one solid colour. Neither would be a better option than a sticker. The quotes could have been printed but maybe LEGO thought it would be better to have two stickers than one sticker and a print. Disappointing, yes, but in this instance I think it’s necessary and justified.
I absolutely love this kind of lego sets, i really hope they continue make more of these going forward, they arent to small, not to big, fits on a shelf.
One of the *many* differences is that the Osprey was officially licenced by Bell and Boeing - i.e. it would have made money for actual current military manufacturers. The Indiana Jones set isn't officially licensed by NSDAP, is it?
I love these brick-build heads /idols! My very first kind-of-big set was 6262 (King Kahuka's Throne from 1994) with a head made in a similar technique! I loved that set! Almost 30 years have passed 😑
I'm really glad to see new Indiana Jones sets, I always wanted the old ones as a kid but could only get my hand on the boat chase. My inner child tries to convince me to pick one of the new ones up. This looks like a great set. I did not expect so many functions but I think they are great and makes quite a lot of sense to have
This a really fun/functional set. So glad to see the return of Indy, and his adventures after such a long absence as well as not getting any of the original ones. A bit pricey at 200 Canadian but for technical as it is, displayable, and true to the opening scene as it is feels worth the price. Also nice to see some printed pieces throughout the set, and not too many stickers. Also love the hair hat combo.
Balazs such an underrated reviewer. While I enjoy his Technic reviews, his throughout breakdowns of LEGO system sets are just as amazing (unlike other creators that only hype up how "cool" the set is or just its features)...Keep up the excellent work! In terms of the set, it's disappointing to see that the name plates are stickers but otherwise LEGO did a great job with this set catering to both display and play functions
Before watching this Lego Temple of the Golden Idol set, need to rewatch "The Idol Temple" part again to refresh the memory. This Diorama set was excellent. It capture alot of details.
such a great review: thanks for sharing the building details and "surprising" technical experiences! Although I'm not quite in to IJ, it's great to see all the little details and easter eggs revealed 🤠
The “stick” is just a brick built way to accurately represent the whip bearing the weight of a person. That’s why they used a straight rod as opposed to the relaxed whip mold as it would look unrealistic coiled up for that swing feature.
This makes me so happy. As a kid I had a lot of the original sets, so it brings back a lot of nostalgia (I'm assuming that's their main target audience - alongside general fans).
@@RacingBrick My bad, so in that case i thing its there if you wanted to display the scene when one of them is swinging ? Otherwise you can take it down ?
Hi! I just got this set at around USD90 from a 40% off sale in an online Lego store. So it became a very good deal and I’m building it. It’s amazing even though I’m not really a fan of Indiana Jones.
It looks like a fun set to build and play. thanks to the detail you provide, I don't have to deal with the inevitable 'builder's remorse and dust collection prior to permanent disassembly' phase.
Great set. And 77013 seems to be a great set for the price. My son has just see the 4 films a weeks ago and all this wave of Indy sets are on my wantlist.
Fun fact: Lego made a video game in cooperation with Lucasarts (probably another Lucasfilm company) called, Lego Indiana Jones which consists of levels that are based on all 3 movies.
I'm not sure why the set has more complex and interesting mechanisms than the LEGO Technic sets with boring functions like the 42125. I mean, if it is possible to put complex mechanisms in a system set, then why can't we have them in LEGO Technic sets that lack functionality like the Ferrari 488, Ford Raptor or the Porsche 911 RSR? The LEGO 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol is just a mind blowing set. I like it and I'm definitely planning to buy it.
Great review again. Thanks. I wonder if the sticker for the logo and the quote are due to internationalization. It could be that different countries will get them in their languages. Creating printed parts in different languages would be much more expensive. So that could be a reason for stickers?
Szervusz, Balázs! :) It's gonna be a strange questions, but could you measure the dimensions of the BOX? Just to know if I can go to the LEGO store by motorcycle (limited storage space) or take public transportation instead. :D
Wow, more functions than some large scale Technic sets recently released! I can see a lot of work has been put into designing this. The lack of prints for the plaque is a downgrade compared to the rest of the diorama sets. If this was a Disney license this wouldn't have happened. Those nine 2x2 tiles could have also been printed in one go and included as a family pack similar to the newspapers in the Daily Bugle. I think the fact that the set numbers were released as such with 77014 missing from the line-up is a clear indication that the set was cancelled last minute and will NOT release at all later. To be honest, not much is lost since it was the ugliest looking set of the wave.
Really cool looking set, but so disappointing to see stickers for the quote and logo tile. They simply shouldn’t be on a set like this which is clearly aimed at adult collectors.
@@RacingBrick problem is the minifigs get so expensive for the LOTR and Indiana Jones retired sets, would like to see more of the sub $100 sets in the theme revivals that kids can access, for Castle, LOTR, Classic Space, India Jones. Temple of Doom is canceled per Lego
Nope

This set definitely earned its 18+ rating.
Crazy how they cancelled the Rescue Osprey but still released a n*zi war plane
lmaooo fr
Lol, there are no nazis in Lego Indiana Jones; just generic soldiers who just so happened to all be German in the 1930's... Sheer coincidence. 😉
One of the *many* differences is that the Osprey was officially licenced by Bell and Boeing - i.e. it would have made money for actual current military manufacturers.
The Indiana Jones set isn't officially licensed by NSDAP, is it?
You all will get that Lego have to cancel it. Don't leave such comments! I want this set very much.
The plane used in the movie is a Pilatus P-2, it’s actually Swiss made lol

I'm sure someone will motorize it. Thank you for the build. As always, your builds and opinions are greatly appreciated.
The last crusade is my favorite indiana jones movie but this set is so cool that I might just have to get it.
Incredible! This is a definite buy for me! So much fun!
This makes me so happy. As a kid I had a lot of the original sets, so it brings back a lot of nostalgia (I'm assuming that's their main target audience - alongside general fans).
I’m on holiday and my wife has treated me to the smaller 2 sets as I’m struggling. She’s a good one 🙂
That “stick” Satipo has is actually Indy’s whip.
Yes, but meanwhile Indy has a proper whip...
@@RacingBrick Yes, but Indy’s whip is rubbery, which prevents the effect of it being straightened.
The technique build for the giant stone ball just seems like a way to run up the part count.
I think the stick represents the rope swing after they took the idol
Except that's not a rope, that's Indy's whip they left there
@@RacingBrick My bad, so in that case i thing its there if you wanted to display the scene when one of them is swinging ? Otherwise you can take it down ?

On of the stickers represent the Islander king’s mask from Pirates.

Thanx for great review! 😊
The Fighter Plane Chase set is the only one set for me 🥰
I was thinking "Please post office don't delay his review this time!" Great review!
My hot take is that Lego will do LOTR dioramas next.
It would be interesting to see a comparison between this set and the 2008 version
Geniales Set. Great Set. 😊

I think the brown stick was the whip for crossing the gap
It is, but it's a somewhat weird choice since there is an actual whip piece in the set
@@RacingBrick good point, I think the choice was made because the whip is always rolled up and wouldn't be a good choice for the feature.
This 100% f***ing cool!
U have to check out the RAT ROD GARAGE on lego ideas 💡 it awesome 👌
Great review! That's not a "stick" btw. It's meant to represent the whip fully extended when swinging, rather than coiled up.
I know well what it wants to represent, it just looks weird next to the "real" whip.

My theory about the stickers for Quotes is that maybe they ran out of budget

I didn't hear about localized sets made by LEGO, so I don't think it's the case
i really want the plane because i missed the first wave
didnt think the boulder section looked that good from the box art, changed my mind haha
Wasn't able to afford it as child and still won't be able to afford it now
Would be a really cool set if it didn't have stickers. What a shame, the idea is really cool.
I'm a bit disappointed with the quote plate but I'm not sure what they should have used instead. All the best Raiders quotes are later in the movie.
What is the Golden rimcover at 4:28? And why is there only one? I need 4 for my Lego Mini 10242 😁 Greetings, Martin from Dresden 🙋🏻♂️

Why, LEGO, why! I just dropped 50E on the McLaren speed champions and now this comes around!

It would have been hilarious if the plane actually had a swastika symbol on it. 😂

it's not the lego from years 90...it's nonsens
