Remember when Speed Champion sets were $20, now each wave comes with a price increase and they’re currently $27, but there’s no positive change in quality.
I don't want to play the devil's advocate, but objectively, prices of everything have gone up due to external reasons like the global pandemic and war in Ukraine. Expecting Lego prices to stay the same when everything else becomes more expensive is just ignorance.
The fact that it is getting a new set isn't all that surprising in the line that has been making all the Batmobiles for the last couple years at that price point
I find myself phasing out of Lego as a hobby again. The ratio of price vs. emotional/play value is a constant and sharp decline. Still buying special Star Wars Minifigs here and there, but that's about it. Makes me somewhat sad but true.
When I hear "Lego as a hobby", I think "coming up with cool models or interesting building techniques and building them with the pieces you already own". That's what Lego is all about for me, and I don't need to buy overpriced licensed sets for that. But I guess we're all different, and for some "Lego as a hobby" means "buying, building and displaying vanilla Lego models" and that gets harder and harder to maintain as they crank up the prices.
I am really disappointed with Two-Face minifigure. That stripe of unprinted "flash" on his head between front and rear prints of burnt skin on the left side of his face is just awful. Why on earth lego still can't figure out how to print head from all sides? For 60 freaking bucks!
The new (smaller) Tumbler has slightly better proportions in just a few places (like the size of the back wheels: they are as big as a person on the older version). It is also slightly “cleaner”. But the older version is just more of a brutal force and that suits the subject better!
I.. I'm kinda interested in both of the smaller sets ngl. Even at 30 years old, that 4+ set is tantalizing lol. But that's the joy of Legos, no matter what "age range" a set is targeted at, if it's something you're interested in, you can buy it with no judgement, except maybe from your close friends joking around.
Lego pricing this year is out of control. I can't justify paying the prices for the majority of their sets anymore. It makes me sad, but on the plus side I have room for new hobbies, like actual models or miniature painting.
That newer Tumbler is definitely a disappointment, being such a downgrade from the 2021 version and massively overpriced. The fact that the 2021 version can still be brought a bit cheaper than the new one on Bricklink or ebay, even when including "collectors value", just hurts the new one even further. But unfortunately, Lego will get away with it because there's too many minifigure obsessed fans out there who'll pay ridiculous amounts for them, even for the better scale of the new smaller Tumbler which is very a debatable and dubious excuse. This is probably one of the worst redone sets we've had for a while.
@cybersilver5816 ah I'm UK based, and on ebay I'm seeing them in the mid to high £40 mark. More expensive than it originally was, but still cheaper than the new set.
The Tumbler is a disappointment for sure. I hoped that with the increased price, and it being based on "The Dark Knight" film, they would've included a built-in Batpod (the bike).
4:46 Bricklink is telling me $81.39 (78.08 Euro) *minimum* for a used set. Not terrible, but not at all cheaper than the 2025 set. That's twice as much as it was. I'm not sure how frequently prices fluctuate on Bricklink, and I also don't know what day this video was recorded on, so I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt. Is this typical for aftermarket sites like Bricklink to vary wildly?
Maybe you are checking a different set? Here's the cheapest sealed one for 60 AUD - store.bricklink.com/Old2new4u?itemID=444746933#/shop?o={%22invID%22:%22444746933%22}
@@RacingBrick That does help. Thank you! I'm new to the site, so I'm not exactly sure how to navigate it. Didn't realize that I was looking at the wrong set. Egg on my face, as they say
When it does come, I hope it’s one big video rather than one for each team. Basically show one in depth build review for one of the cars, then less in depth for what makes each car unique. I bet the F1 cars are similar enough that it would be very repetitive to watch one in depth video for each team. I think I’m more interested in seeing how this wave of F1 cars stacks up to past years’ F1 cars for the same team in the 8-wide scale.
@@Gzilla313in terms of looks the F1 set last year were lacking some particular small details that makes the cars unique, overall I think this 2025 wave would be better in terms of design and looks maybe would get to see some new building techniques. I'm just happy with the fact that we are getting suspension pieces and wider rear wheels, that's my opinion on it.
Those will also come, but I need some time with my family. I have a few videos recorded that I will publish, then in January I'll continue with the City F1 sets.
@RacingBrick By January, I would have already bought 60442, 60445 and maybe 60443 (60444 is too overpriced and 60464 is a 4+ set), so I would have them in my hands
I've pre-ordered that lego Minecraft mushroom cow house (i already have lego Minecraft Pig house(2021 -adult version,i specified because 2025 january wave has baby Pig house)
I have been eyeing a tumbler set for quite a while now. The place where i live in the 2021 tumbler is sold at $80 - $90. And the new one is around $60 with 2face and a joker mini figure. Plus the new set ill get for a discount later on so i see this as in absolute win win. Would love some suggestions. Thanks
To be honest - most lego sets priced-up in last two years. In this context new Tumbler is not so much overpriced as set, but nowadays LEGO sets becaming overpriced globaly. I'm courious how things change.in future, because many fully legal concurents like WholeFun starts to be cheaper with comparable quality of bricks and full servis like almost only prints and light system. I'm big deffender of LEGO company, but with new pices is added value of Danish bricks more and more unseen and hidden. (And I'm starting have big problem with probably expensive advertising targeting to rich adult collectors of 3D puzzles, althrough there are many great creative sets, which almost no ads, which is pitty. Im starting to feel like consumer of second category and like I should going in toystores via entrance for poor poeple, because I dont buying really overpriced big sets with expensive licence like Star Wars or Lord ot the Rings or Harry Potter - but I spending a lot of money regullary each month for other sets like Creator, Technic or even Classic) Scaled-down model could be actually welcome, because new little smaller version is more acurate to minifig scale. Yes, it is for cost od lose one seat in cockpit, however, we can comfortly fit Batman with rubber cape, which is not always possible. I like both models and I think both have some adventages and some disadventages. Yes, I want them both, but I love Batman and I am collecting Batmobiles - not all of them, but many.)
How could you say, the price for 4+ Batman set is ok? 20 € for 63 pieces? Ok, there is the big car base, but anyway, it's a lot of money for such a small toy. Compare the bigger superman robot - double piece count and it's cheaper.. 😞

So happy I got the 2021 version! Better build for less money and with “demon-batman” . I do prefer the villains of the new set.
Really hope Lego listen to this review and especially about the pricing of the tumbler. Its as worrying as the Speed Champions Pricing.
Remember when Speed Champion sets were $20, now each wave comes with a price increase and they’re currently $27, but there’s no positive change in quality.

Got the 2021 - 76239 "OG" Tumbler on EBAY, amazing how much better that looks - it has those big CREATOR/ICON car-tyres, fits/looks 1000x better.
Apparently the tumbler reached cult movie vehicle status. The last appearance was 10 years ago, and still getsca new lego set.
The fact that it is getting a new set isn't all that surprising in the line that has been making all the Batmobiles for the last couple years at that price point
For me it’s the 1989 Tim Burton Batmobile. Sure, nostalgia goggles, but in my mind that is the definitive Batmobile.
I find myself phasing out of Lego as a hobby again. The ratio of price vs. emotional/play value is a constant and sharp decline.

Start buying Funwhole sets. They make better sets then Lego.
That Superman set is awesome!
I am really disappointed with Two-Face minifigure. That stripe of unprinted "flash" on his head between front and rear prints of burnt skin on the left side of his face is just awful. Why on earth lego still can't figure out how to print head from all sides? For 60 freaking bucks!
True, I think the printing should've been a redder tone.

The bricklink shipping prices bring the old one up to the price of the new one so definitely waiting for sales and coupons on the new Tumbler.
Me too waiting for sale as in India it is very high
I think Lego expects everyone to buy the Tumbler set mostly because of the minifigs. Speaking of minifigs, no Comissioner Gordon minifig?!
Lego pricing this year is out of control. I can't justify paying the prices for the majority of their sets anymore. It makes me sad, but on the plus side I have room for new hobbies, like actual models or miniature painting.
The helmet for batman isn't new. It was on the previous Batman Mech (the one from 2024)
And on quite a few other sets.
I've been waiting for a come back on Superman, but not a mech Superman. 🤦♂️

The Tumbler is a disappointment for sure. I hoped that with the increased price, and it being based on "The Dark Knight" film, they would've included a built-in Batpod (the bike).
Build-in batpod is probably imposible in this scale without many very specialised parts produced just for this one use.

Was wondering when the 2025 F1 Speed Champions reviews are coming, eagerly waiting!
Those sets will be released in March, I wouldn't expect the reviews before mid-February

Surely lex would get a mech suit seems stupid to give it to superman 🙃
Please review the rest of the City F1 sets!

How can you pre order this?. The website only shows you can pre order some new race car legos for 2025
It depends on your country, in most European countries you can preorder them
@RacingBrick thank you for letting me know now i see how lego website works i never Knew that lego works like that
The only way Lego will learn is we stop buying or even advertising for the low value for money set.
I found the superman mech early in stores…

I’d rather have the 2021 set because it’s a two-seater and has more subtle stud shooters than this shrunk down version.

It has a better price compared to the other 4+ Batmobile set which costs $27 and has even less parts and less playable functions.
How can i disable the automatic translation? it´s awful in german. i would prefer to hear your real voice :-)
