I love how this channel popped up out of nowhere like a year ago with interesting ideas and amazing production quality from the start. When I found this video, I assumed Brick Technology was a well known channel with millions of subscribers, so it's really impressive to see this level of high quality content from a rather new and (somewhat) small channel! With videos like these, I'm sure you'll reach a million subs in no time :) edit: a year later and they have almost 1.5M subs!
I thought I was the only one actually caring for parts, and trying to divide stresses equally. I was suprised to see you make a planetary gear system to bring the high torque over to the flat gears instead of the long drivetrain in the suspension
this is so impressive honestly. this car can definitely be seen in some scifi futuristic movie. amazing work. would love to see you make a custom tumblr batmobile
I'm totally envious of the amount of Lego Technic parts you have, the builds you make always bring out that childhood creativity! Excellent work as always.
Of course, limitless budget will do that. Sets are designed to be of a certain value so they're affordable to the everyday general public, so makes sense.
A small Warning : I use unofficial Servos with a Buwizz 2.0 too, and recently one of them that I had bought only 2 weeks before got very hot and short-circuited. Luckily Buwizz have protection so it didn't die, but when I removed the servo from my build it was really burning hot, so be sure to check them evey once in a while :D
Rubber tires on the inside and slippery rollers on the outside would have been interesting, seems the main problem with more grip was it made the car near un-steerable due to friction resisting turning. Being able to have increased driving grip but with the ability to turn would be great!
Yeah since the wheel is just one long wheel the inner tires rotate faster than the outside tires. That's why the gears broke. And that's how/why the differential was invented, to fix that same problem! This futuristic flintstones mobile is amazing. Really well engineered.
@@younghex9577 Yeah, except in the turns it was the outside tires that have to go faster, they have more distance to cover :) The middle doesn't change much in a turn and that's why I think it'd be interesting to have it rubber to reduce slip. You're correct this is partially why differentials were added to cars, as well as the slightly uneven angle between the inside and outside wheel in a turn. The gears did indeed grind cuz it's powered from both ends, and connected rigidly, but going different speeds. I find myself wondering how the ball wheeled car accommodated this, cuz its wheels were also powered by the one drive each pair.
@@xiphosura413 due to the very poor grip, the the hard, cylindrical "wheel" could just slip over the floor like it wanted to, without harming the gears.
Everything about this build is a brilliant piece of engineering. I find myself wanting to call this the Flintstones Tumbler (your suspension reminds me of the tumbler).
Really cool creation! I’m a bit curious what would happen if you were to put ordinary 4 wheels instead of those rollers. Looks would definitely give the tumbler a run for its money
Hosestly these builds are way too good & unique to not have instructions for (mainly the vehicle builds). It would be great way for other people to experience the build & function, especially kids getting into engineering.
smart idea of connecting the hood to suspension, that way u dont have to worry of the rollers grinding out. A suggestion is set the trave. of the suspension longer, lose the plastic wheels and use rubber, and set the gearing for the wheels to 2:1
watch the whole video, he shows it off with rubber wheels and also the issues it comes with due to the way the drivetrain works. the gears are skipping and clicking due to the increased friction of the grippier tires.
8:00 alternate solution: instead of using a planetary gear, which will slow the car down, I would recommend making beval gears out of metal (if it's possible that is) so no agility wasted, right? (i'm not engineer or something).
Awesome Job! I just rediscovered my love for Lego Technic after nearly 20 years. So my current setup is really old, nur still working. My first model was the 8880 ;) Love your Channel!
wow. it just took me 10 seconds to know that this was going to be a great video (as all ways). the bevel gears broke because when you added the rubbers that ment there was no slipping, and they couldn't cope whit the immediate torque. but you already new that. thank you for making this video amazing as always.
It would be fun to have like a outrunner brushless motor for lego, so you could make wheels with motos inside and not have to mess around with all the shafts and gearing
Just when I thought it'd be awesome with a grippier tyre, and then you put rubber tyre on it. So awesome, love the tilting when it's on full turning mode 😂
Man I love these videos! The rubber tires part made think that you could do a skidpad challenge. For anyone that doesn’t know, skidpad is a vehicle dynamics test where a car is pushed to limits of grip in steady state. In essence it boils down to how fast can you go around in a circle of fixed radius. This is part of the Formula Student Competitions where Aerodynamics, suspension, weight, grip and stability all come into play to reach maximum steady state lateral G force. I think it would make a great video to see your style and approach to incrementally improve performance of a Lego race car

With something similar to the final setup, you could probably find a way to drive the wheel from the center rather than the side, and hide the drivetrain under the body panels. It'd also be cool to sneak a differential in there so that steering is a bit less cumbersome, especially with tires.
This just reminds me of an episode of the Flinstones where Betty and Wilma show up at the moon to rescue Fred and Barnie. This lego car probably has some of the technology they used to drive to the moon LOL. Great job on this car by the way, very cool.
