The one from 08 looks more complete due to the fact it's more of an enclosed tomb like space while the 2023 is this open space consisting of plates for the floor and one big wall piece.
An interesting detail I noticed, is that the 2023 Indiana Jones minifigure's hands are a darker tan since Indy was wearing gloves during the entire Ark recovery and Tomb escape scenes. Great attention to detail on Lego's part!
Yeah she’s barefoot in the film. Her shoes fall off when that dastardly Belloq throws her down into the Well of Souls. (If anyone remembers, there’s a great shot of a snake slithering through one of her shoes.)
When ppl said it would be $80 I thought it was terrible but at $40 this is an incredible deal for Lego. Very pleased with that price per piece and quality
Just saying, but with the upcoming Lego Jurassic Park sets the dual hat and hair piece could also be used for the Alan Grant minifigures, regardless if it’s not technically the correct hat or perhaps hair color for Dr. Grant
I love how this set has a drawing of C3PO and R2D2 on a wall. This can be seen in the real film when Indiana Jones and Salah find the arch, because George Lucas, produces both films. Great deatil👍👍
The detail is fantastic on all of the figures. The reason she is barefoot is because her shoes fall off and then Indy rips off half of her dress to keep their torches lit.
Although this 2023 version is a bit mixed of the line-up, it's easily the best value of the theme, especially for what you get in 2023. Not a bad display set and a pretty good playset. It also sharply puts into context what region sets, especially the Trash Compactor should've been roughly priced at if that wasn't an 18+ set; both the Indiana Jones set here and the Trash Compactor set are pretty similar in size and overall volume and have play features but the Indy set is less than half the retail price of the Star Wars one! Yes the Trash Compactor has a few more (mostly tiny pieces) and some more figs but that should've been no more than $50 at best.
never ever ever got a set and kept it in the box, but i really wana get all of the new sets, put them in bubble wrap, put in a toat, and forget about them for 20 years
I can't deal with this many stickers. I know I am going to mess up at least one and them causing irreversable damage to the set. This isn't possible with prints and feels weird for a LEGO set where it's about being able to change the set. And some of the stickers I had on LEGO sets have aged terribly with them cracking up like crazy.
lego is cheaping out at every corner yet talking about wanting the best of the best, making record sales and raising prices saying they need to to keep afloat lmao.
This looks like something thrown together to make money as fast as lego can! I understand gotta make money but come on. I know inflation and all, but i remember when you got alot of pieces and alot of people as well

I rewached Raiders of the Lost Ark, the other day, and I can tell you that it being open-spaced is more accurate to the original movie.

I’m not a reptile expert but I remember hearing the used legless newts or legless lizards of some kind to make up for not having enough snakes

Got to agree with the ark design, the original is way cooler in my opinion. I was thinking of swapping the top pieces for the pearl gold faucet pieces
