I bought The Cars Rhino release and love it! That Cake album is on my list of needs for 2024.
The Cars + Rhino is one of the best of the year, no doubt. Hard to not only meet the hype, but exceed it, and this one does. Glad you grabbed one too Buddie!🤘🏻

Great video Chance! My buying was extremely light this year. Reissue wise I only got three that came out this year. Love by The Cult. Seven Inches Of Satanic Panic by Ghost and was gifted Greener Postures by Snakefinger. Have a great holiday!

BIG JJ Grey & Mofro fan. I found this band in 2001 while at Florida State. Seen them probably 15 times. They were my favorite band for most of tglhst time, but "Georgia Warhorse" was when I stopped listening to their newer stuff. I picked up all their reissues. "Country Ghetto" is my favorite album hands down. NO ONE ever talks about them.Glad to see them get some love.
Nice! Yeah, the later albums really haven't grabbed me like those early albums did. I think I sampled them through a free MP3 card somehow and got hooked. Always great to see live!
The Van Halen One-Step is great, as well as the two AP Phil Collins titles. I do love my Elephant UHQR as well Cheers
Cheers to you as well! I had a long 2 year pre-order on the VH and cancelled the whole thing right before they (finally) announced the VH1 one-step was now shipping. Early feedback I'm hearing suggests I should go and pick it up; will probably do so. 🙂

I got VS. on 45rpm - black edition - would love to have that color version but Im not in the ten club. It sounds amazing. Drums are really great.

Good video! My only complaint about a lot of the VC is not many talk about new bands, new releases other then reissues from music that is 60 or 50 years old I know most people in the VC are older and probably don’t listen to a lot of newer bands but it would be nice to see some more focus on some newer music Thanks
I definitely agree here. 90% (or more) of the talk is music from the past. I’d love to see more channels feature new music+ bands. Selfishly, it would help me discover new stuff as well. 🤘🏻
I waited too long to try to get that Talking a heads reissue, really bummed me out I have not found it. The HansonCD was a favorite of mine when it came out, sooooo darn catchy but again I didn’t buy the reissue either, only so much money. Grey is a new artist for me that I need to check out.
If you go down that rabbit hole of JJ Grey & Mofro, try this album (Country Ghetto) and the follow up album Orange Blossoms. I think you’ll like ‘em 😁
I also picked up the Pearl Jam Vs. through the 10 club. I have two OG copies but they did a good job on the reissue.
I'm a big Talking Heads fan. I picked up this as well. I've been reading the book "Remain In Love" writen by Chris Frantz. It's a good book and I wish I would get to see them live as the whole group, but I really am not holding out hope.
Also got "Elephant" and "The Cars" reissues. I passed on the Cake reissue. I got "Fashion Nugget" and the music just didn't resonate with me 20 years later.
I enjoy the music of Cake, but got a little turned off from the band a few years ago when I saw them at a local festival. Don't know why, but they omitted "The Distance" from the setlist. Came off as pretentious. I hate when bands don't play their biggest hit as some sort of "statement". But the goods songs are still good, and like I said, I did not want to plop down $1k on the damn box set. That Talking Heads book sound intriguing.
I found the Cars Rhino RE entertaining because we are hearing the studio band play and not a mastered for FM or a jukebox...for real, too many rock OGs (see ANY Oasis album (omg, REs are so much better)) were mixed to be loud. Was so surprised how balanced the mix was, any fam member that has heard it did a double take (they should not D2C or limit these releases agreed). WOW, nice regional deep dive on Gravity Kills (I am a Sinister Dane man myself 😉)!
My reissue pick was Pet Shop Boys Smash, every single, x6 vinyl, amazing price point, and the mastering is next level. My very close runner up would be New Order's Substance 1987...like Smash, mastered properly to vinyl, 2023 dynamics without sacrificing theses artists' core sound.
Some real bangers on your list here! Did you grab the Gravity Kills record too? They are still out there….soeakijg of local bands, I have seen the same Pale Divine 12” at two local shops recently, after having never seen it before - ever. Richard Fortus must have been cleaning out a drawer in his house 😂
