Adding Launcher to Steam after installing
Go into Desktop mode, you can do this by opening the Power menu of the Steam Deck.
Find the launcher .exe and once again Right-click and choose Properties...
Scroll down and select Browse.... and in the bottom next to "File type:" select "All Files"
You are now going to look for Origin's "wine prefix" folder, it will be in /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata. Look for a folder with a name consisting of 10 numbers, If you have multiple then look at the "Date Modified" or open the folder and subfolders and check the contents. Remember the number, you will need it for adding the games to Steam separately.
Inside the wine prefix folder go to pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/(launcher). Somewhere Inside that folder should be the launcher .exe, select it and press open.
Feel free to now name the shortcut and close the window
You can now launch and install the games you want. You can also press play from here to play the games, but you might want to directly add them to Steam as well.

Launch options for game. This will point Steam Play/Proton to start in the directory the launcher is installed in. This will fix the issue with updating the launcher and games, and having to login for each game individually. It will also fix cloud saves. Hi, ty for the vid but i have a problem. Does the game have to be in the main memory of the deck for this method to work? I can't do this as I have the 64gb model. How can I run the launcher if I install it to the main memory and the game to the SD Card. I found the folder number where the Launcher is installed. I installed the game to sd card. I added it to Steam, I modified the code you gave with the folder number that launcher installed. I added code to CB2077's command line, but when I run the game, the launcher doesn't work. Do you have a suggestion?

Thanks for you vid. The game don’t Launch with the ubisoft connect app when i’m In gaming mode but work fine In desktop mode. Strange
Interesting, you can try to repair the install by running the installer again. I typically just run the game through Steam and not through the launchers. I use the launchers to update the game.
Will this work also for the XBOX app, so that I can download and i stall my GamePass games natively on the Steam Deck?
From what I heard, you can't install Game Pass games on the Deck. I looked into it, you can setup xcloud though.

Yes, this method works for GOG, just need to find the .exe file after running the install.

I noticed nothing better regarding Heroic. I only had issues with cloud saves with Heroic which is why I don't use it.
@@pistolpete_nap i'd heroic is better for games that don't just work
@@genericgamer1319 I haven't had a too many issues with Epic or GOG but Heroic does work pretty well outside of cloud saves from my experience.
@@pistolpete_nap it's mostly good for setting custom Proton/Wine versions if a game doesn't work under the default

My only concern is playing games like Fortnite or others that have anti cheat. Is the anti cheat on steam compatible?
AFAIK Fortnite isn’t playable for that reason BUT you can play it by streaming on Xcloud or GeForce now. The only other way is to install/dual boot with windows.
