Can you play Fortnite
You can also use Heroic as a sort of installer only, and once game installed add their execs to Steam. I found many times that this is a much cleaner way to play said games.
He does explain that step in the video, that is a good tip!

How do you add games to the Sd card that aren’t on steam
Make a folder in your add card and link it to your desktop then install the games there
Do saves work? I believe epic games keeps the saves in the cloud, and I’m not sure if this solution has that
Is there a way of installing games from Epic Games in the ssd card instead of in the internal memory??
The reason to link individual games, is for per-game performance and controller settings.

I had this all set uped and working fine. Then later on my Steam Deck took an update and the Heroic Launcher disappeared from my Steam Deck. Has anyone else had this problem? My Heroic Launcher was replaced with Google in its place.
Was able to do it but it doesn't let me play any of my games after I install them lol.. oh well at least it looks cool to have your epic library on the deck:)

@@tylersurratt2367 Yes just like in the video but there is a small issue with Kingdom Hearts. After you installed it, you have to search the folder of the game and rename the epic folder to epic.bak. After that you have to choose the exe file of the game because when you start the game normally it will start the launcher. The game will freeze when you load one of the games so you have to start it directly. For example if you want to play KH2 you have to choose the exe file to start it and it will work fine. Hope it helps 🙂

How do you transfer your Epic save files from a PC over to the Heroic Launcher/Steam Deck? I'm not sure where the files go. It's nice being able to access my GOG and Epic games but having to start over or not being able to continue my progress is less than optimal.
Also it's worth noting that if the game doesn't already have a preset controller layout in Steam (which you will have to search for), you will need to map the buttons yourself. Or at least as far as I can tell, which if I'm wrong I would love to learn if there is a better way.

dead island 2 works but some times I have to go into desktop launch heroic and refresh my games list check its there then go back into game mode and I don't know about any one else but game from heroic don't work when your not online at least for me they don't

Not every game is supported on Linux and Fortnite is one of those. Epic doesn't have plans to support Linux in the future, so your best bet is with windows for Fortnite.
My wine manager says no versions of wine found. Guess I gotta watch a different video for that...
I'd love to see an install of the Kingdom Hearts games. I've been watching multiple tutorials. No luck so far. Haven't tried renaming the Epic folder yet. I click "play" and get booted back to the games menu. It can't be this difficult.
Sorry, so I know this tutorial is just for epic games but I saw you had Gog. Can you toggle between epic games and GOG or do all the games from both platforms show on heroic games?

Help! I downloaded Tomb raider and played it with heroic, but suddenly it can t download anymore. starts a download but immediately stops again without any error message, i downloaded a different wine but no luck... what can I do? sd-card permissions look good...
When I open up the heroic launcher, it continues to say that is offline and I can't log in. I click to log in and it just sits loading the page forever ? I've looked all over but no one one seems to be running into this issue

You skip directly from logging in, to capturing the SID# and don't show that portion. Too much skipping around, and too quickly. I logged in, and it took me directly to the library. There is no screen with the SID#.

I followed this tutorial and got Heroic and logged into Epic store, downloaded Dauntless however when I go to start the game it gives me an error message about not being able to connect online when my Steam Deck store has no issues is connected to my wifi. Can anyone help me with this issue.

When I try to play THPS 1+2 in gaming mode it gives a color bar screen like it was a television (really weird) any kind of help with that? BTW I can play it through Heroic, every time in desktop mode... problem is only trying to run it through heroic in gaming mode... and when I try to run .exe directly from Steam... I get a black screen...

Depends on the game and the DRM they are using. Fortnite can only be played on windows right now. This method uses proton, so if it’s playable online with steam os game mode then it should be with this method too

Anti-cheat prevents that game from working online. Hopefully valve/epic can work it out soon
i got heroic but the download speed is ridiculously slow

@@Greed97 Good question, I find you avoid buffering and slower speeds by always downloading to the Deck NVME drive, then just transfer it to the SD card later when you're free to walk away and do something else (if it's a giant game)

for new steam deck user. you just say "type in epic" but I dont have a keyboard connected and dont know how.
Press "Steam" + "X" buttons to bring up the keyboard
The "Steam + X" keyboard trick only works if Steam is running in the backround, by the way.
Hey great video. Does Save cloud work with this. I have assassins creed Valhalla if I play on my deck would it cloud to pc etc or vice versa?
I’ll have to look into cloud save more. I know that beta version supports it but might only be on windows.

It's not installing Epic games for me for some reason. I was able to copy the game files from my PC to my Deck and use the "Import game" function as a work around but it would be really nice if I could just download/install the games in Heroic. Any reason why it's not working? (GOG games are installing fine)

I had the same problem yall are. Power downd the deck loaded heroic again and put in the I'd and it worked.
