    what an observation on Rory's journey through life reflected in her choice of clothing! It's incredible how the shifts in her wardrobe mirror the different phases she’s experienced. Never noticed it myself!

    I think Lorelei wasn’t poor like they made it look she was middle class , and had some money she owned a house , car , nice clothing and ate out every day and stars hollow was a small town slower way of life. Lorelei just was not Ivy League Rich. It kind of makes sense in College that Rory would branch out a bit and participate in fancier activities especially after she got together with Logan who lived more like her Grandparents ( well or how they might have if they were in university and not in their 60s). Plus we kind of needed to see Rory socialize really after she and Dean split it was time for a change in the Show and to see both Rory and Paris socializing more they both needed to have a little more fun!

      I totally agree that they were living above their means, by amount of takeout and with such a big house/ so many clothes.
      And yes, Logan definitely brought some fun into Rory’s college years and I think she needed it 😅

    You go, Rory! Love the college dropout style development 😃

    In Rorys defense. I only know about Birking Bags because of sex and the city. Considering that a girl like Rory didn’t watch much TV it makes sense for her not knowing what a Birking bag is 😅

      I agree that fashion and high end brands were not exactly Rory’s interests, but in Logan’s circle this is “common knowledge” and everyone would know that, especially girls. Hence my whole point , that it shows that Rory is not from that circle/ background .
      Thanks for watching 😊

    Liked this video more than Lorelai's, as there's more interesting while Rory grows up.

    Was Lindsay portrayed as a villain? She was portrayed as kinda rude at times, and maybe "not bookish" equals "vapid" in the Gilmore universe, and maybe she comes off as a bit spoiled and entitled, but she was never outright mean.

    • @thatgirldaria
      @thatgirldaria  5 месяцев назад +10

      I don’t think she was mean at all, but Rory was seeing Lindsay as a villain, when she for example judges her for not working and “making Dean to work and drop out of college”. We actually don’t know if Lindsay wanted Dean to drop out or if she did not want to work. We never really see her expressing her own wishes, we only hear Dean saying what Lindsay wants and he is unreliable source.
      It seems like Lindsay just wanted to take care for Dean and be a good wife , and if it’s her own decision (which we frankly don’t know) it should not be portrayed as something bad. That’s what I meant in the video.
      Thank you for watching 😇

      Know what though? Interests don’t mean personalities. I love reading but I mean it doesn’t mean I’m automatically a better person than someone who doesn’t. However many times “bookish” is seen as weird or made fun of but we should all be free to have our own interests. Some individuals think they’re better than others because of their interests. Rory comes off that way! Just bc she’s shy doesn’t mean she’s a nice person after all!

      I think Lindsay and Dean should have never married. But before the marriage I wouldn’t even call her anything more than a bit jealous of Rory and it makes sense especially in the way that Dean dated and even got married to move on from Rory but was never over her so some of those reactions were pretty normal.

      @@Rubester-cl6op yes totally agree. Especially considering that she was just a teenager.
