It's SO refreshing to see a child star who grew up to be a normal, functional adult, still acting, so naturally talented, NOT a nepo baby, totally unproblematic, just a normal person with a good head on her shoulders who happens to be a famous actress. And to top it off she's talented and she makes great film choices. She's a rare gem in a town like Hollywood. If more actors were like her, people wouldn't hate celebrities so much.

For the former child actors who are typical, healthy adults (who may still be in the industry), I notice they have the same experiences of being super protected on sets. They didn’t know all the drama, they weren’t going out, they had their parents on set at all times. But the sets themselves were kid-friendly.
I also don’t think there are a LOT of former child actors who went off the rails, we just obviously hear about the ones who did. But most of them are functional, regular adults, whether or not they continued in the tv and film industries.

"I was playing with Barbies for probably far too long"
I so relate to her on this, & as an adult, really, really am thankful for this. Far too often little girls try to grow up too quickly, to adulthood & past childhood, for which you can never get back. So I'm very thankful for my late blooming, as it was.

The Spider-Man audition story when she goes back in the room for her CD case, and then said she could tell from the looks on their faces, she had the role and thought, “You did it, you nailed it”…..I love that she said that bc so many women feel like they have to play coy when they’re amazing at something. Very cool person and exactly why I loved her growing up…relatable and confident. Love her.

I was coming here to make almost this EXACT COMMENT. Too often female celebrities seem to feel like they can’t accept their well-earned compliments because they’ll be accused of “having an ego”, or they feel like they need to go far to the other end of the spectrum, which is self-confidence to the point of disregarding all the people and circumstances that helped support them getting to where they are. Kirsten Dunst balances this beautifully. Confidence, gratitude, pride in her work ethic, well aware of the opportunities afforded to her… incredibly refreshing, I agree!
