My father was the transport hauler for PPG paints pace car 96-98! He transported that car!!! I still got my dad racing uniform from when he work for them!
Nice. My wife has the original pre-production rally supra w/vins intact. Dang cool to see this one here. Hopefully it has been submitted to The Supra Registry and is verified and listed.
I remember seeing one in Toyota USA's collection (It might have been the automatic, can't recall)...the one that the Toyota museum had didn't have a VIN IIRC and was a prototype. The obviously fun part of the car are the Whelan strobe lights, since these cars are not street legal.
It's a JDM spec chassis and interior car that's LHD with a US spec drivetrain. All Japanese JDM Delivered JZA80 RZs were hard top. The JDM Aerotops were non turbo spec, bar the Auto GZ Aerotops with the GTE.
OMG So beautiful! Beats the Corvette Pace Car from that era hands down. It would be a carnal sin to change/mod anything. 🎶 I love you just the way you are 🎶
I don't think the IndyCar thing adds too much value. The car itself is a super clean, low miles, close to original Supra. Any Supra in that condition is worth big money. It's definitely a unique car.
Not is the US market. Cloth seats were reserved for the non-turbo model teenage girls were gifted after graduating high school. Most of those had leather as well.
@@MattMatt77 Not sure what you mean, it's not currently being used as a pace car. Unless it's paced events for Gridlife and I missed that somehow. They're grassroot events and don't have any manufacture involvement so I could see that happening.
@@dln.sweeney First off your first sentence contradicts your 2nd sentence. Also my original comment explains everything. Why would you use a 30yr old car for a pace car? EVERYONE use modern sports cars for so many positive reasons.
I never understood the oem purist mindset for buying cars and let me explain,90% of cars modified that are sold have basic bolt ons like intake/header/exhaust.this is so simple to swap out for oem that it makes no sense when buyers turn them down for oem especially when modded cars are not as valuable as oem in many cases. so one could literally take off these mods in a hour, sell them and buy oem parts so why is the oem purist so concerned with mods when they can so easily be swapped out? one theory i had was modded usually means the car was beat on hard where oem was more likley driven soft, another is people buy oem jdm so they can mod the cars the way they want from start to finish. so what peple should do when modding their cars is keep the oem parts in the shed and when it cmes time to sell they can swap them back on and sell the aftermarket nes. aftermarket nowadays with tasteful mods isnt like it was many years ago, today you can get aftermarket that is far superior to oem parts. it would be nice to see changes where aftermarket parts that are superior increase the cars value,it would be nice to kill this idea that makes basic bolt ons scare off oem purist for reasons i said before,if it takes a hour to swap parts then it shouldnt be s frowned apon by purist, most cars are not widebody where the panels are cut up they are simple blt on mst times.

So glad we could get this car the spotlight it deserves! Fantastic shots as always. Thank you Larry! - Seamus
As a Jamaican I approve of this color combination 😁

Finally a video on the pace car Supra! I’ve looked for reviews and more about it but could never find any
Not on RUclips, but not hard to find the Japanese videos
Thank you for this great coverage! Love my MKIV Supra and can never get enough content on them.
Absolutely stunning piece of history! Love it,and great video!
Omg! More 90's radness please!!!
12 million dollars ! starting bid !
The Colors are PPG Light Sunrise Yellow, Medium Green, and Bright Sapphire. I have this Poster. It was a dream car of mine.

We met at the invitational, by far the highlight of my day and hope we can make some magic together in the future
I remember seeing this car while flipping through the Motortrend magazines
Seamus from TCS is quickly becoming my favorite builder.

Toyota content is the best content.
My inner Toyota fan boy appreciates this, however my bimmer fan side of me wishes the video was about that Green E9 CSL in the background @1:03 !
He did a video on a very similar looking one. Perhaps the same one even.
Toyota everything!!
Very nice
Hey Larry. Can you find a Silvia to do a photo/ overview on? I saw Japan just did some big drifting comp and it was all silvias basically.
Just curious , why crush a car when it can be used for parts?
Unreal.. and yes Lary.. not too long ago a TT Supra was in the mid +- $20k..

Pace car definitely adds a lot of value
Sad to think I will most likely never own a MK4 Supra 😢 maybe I will just 2J swap my M3...
vinny ten shoutout ftw. og og
I was hoping someone would pick up on that. OGest
@@seamguy the other shoutout not so much ...outside AZ. Should have mentioned Mr. Akimoto instead. Lol.
First from Denmark…🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🤘🏼🤘🏼🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
Lol big L
Id rather the original fast and furious supra which is now valued at 1.5m
Is this a game
3:27 anyone happen to know the specific names of these paint colors mainly the yellow
"The Colors are PPG Light Sunrise Yellow, Medium Green, and Bright Sapphire!"
According to Drew Alesandro, who also has a poster of it :)
It's one of those things that it's only worth that much to the people who want it.
Way more iconic than the cartoonish Fast & Furious Supra
Wait so they crushed the Sema GR86?
how the fuck is everyone seeing these massachusetts cars ? i never see cool cars here and ive lived here my whole life .
Hard top twin turbo cloth was & is a dime a dozen in Australia from the 90s when they first arrived till now

Why would they have a almost 30yr old pace car?
They always use new cars?
It was used as a pace car in 95
@@dln.sweeney Cool 👍
