Hi friends! Today I have a new drugstore nail polish swatch & review for you - I have the new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel birthday collection to celebrate the 10th birthday of this line of polish! We have 8 new nail polish colors in a really fun color palette and I am pretty excited about them. I do want to note that the Miracle Gel line isn't actually gel, it's just "gel like" but it applies and removes like normal nail polish and dries by air :)
Sally Hansen is a mainstream drugstore nail polish brand that is 3 free and cruelty free.

00:43 Are they actually gel??
02:00 Sally Hansen Miracle Gel swatches
08:55 My thoughts

10:54 Fun fact - fire or water?? - Хобби
I wish brands would stop putting "Gel" on non gel polishes 😅
Haha same, hence my little rant in this video 😅
I believe the "Gel" part refers to the Gel-like shine it would have, not that it is a "Light-less" Gel Polish. Also, some Gel Polishes do have Gel Base Coats, but Miracle Gel has only two parts, the Base + Color & Top Coat. Hence why you don't "really" need a Base Coat for it.
It would definitely be less confusing for consumers if they called them gel-like instead! I've had a lot of followers tell me they were upset to buy these polishes only to find out that these polishes didn't cure with a lamp like actual gel polishes!
@@KelliMarissa Maybe the companies are trying to portray them as if they were Gel Polishes? I fail to see the idea behind that...
There's people who pass these over because they don't want or can't wear gel polish, so it seems to me that better labeling might sell more products.
I'm glad you clarified that Gel issue! Brewberry is my favorite!
It can get confusing haha!!
I love the Miracle Gel Line. Thank you for the review ! Please continue to review main stream and drug store brands !
I definitely will! 🥰🥰
Your eye makeup though!!! 🤩
Subtle spring rainbow is so on point for this rainy season!!!
BTW, I detest spring colors usually too…I am team Space Nails 24/7/365!!! Because we are a Star Trek civilization already and most don’t even know it. 😉
Oh thank you so much!! And I can totally get on board with 24/7 space nails hahaha
This line does the sheer shimmers so well. It’s my go to for fast effortless nails
They really do make some gorgeous colors!!
Finally! A collection that I can actually get in México 😅
Ooh yay! I hope you find some colors you like in this set 🥰🥰
Twinkle whites and A Fairy to Remember is gorgeous and timeless. 💖
Agreed, so soft and ethereal!
yessssss!!! they’re def my favorites!
If you haven’t heard of Sally Hansen… what are you even doing on this channel?? 😂
LOL!!
😂😂
This feels like a great spring color story. And I love how Twinkle Whites can double as a topper.
Yesss agreed completely!!
Nice set of polishes. Brewberry is so pretty. ❤
It really is! And that opacity!!
Wow, you have read my mind!!! I have been dying for a review of the SH Miracle Gel. It's Sherbet Day and Gelebrate are my faves. I hope you will do Sally Hansen and Revlon swatches more! Thank you!!
I really should do more drugstore brands!!
Yes please 👍
Beautiful colors ❤
I love sally hensen nail polish
Thank you Kelli for this great review👍
These are surprisingly nice. Way to Sally!
Right?! I really enjoyed them!!
your eye makeup is beaaaauuuuutiful ✨
Thank you so much 😀
it's such a pretty color story!! ty kelli!!
I'm so glad you liked it too!!
I’ve always really really love Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes since they came out with this line. I think their brushes are great and their formula goes on not too thin and not too thick. Basically all their opaque colors easily go on in 2 coats! AND fills ridges pretty damn well too, so it’s got to have some bit of self leveling. And I get a long wear time with it too.
~thank you so much for the video and i love the colors!!~💖😍❤
i love this brand!
Yay glad you like them too!!!
@@KelliMarissa 🥰☺
for drug store polish, the miracle gel is definitely my favorite line. they are what got me into painting my own nails again! they were the only option for me at the time that offered some fun colors. ❤
They really are an amazing drugstore line imo!!
I’m really digging this collection!
Also, I’m loving your hair ❤
Oh thank you so much!
Nice collection and review! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! 🥰
Love this collection!!! Thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed them too!!
Beautiful colors ❤
Such a pretty color palette!
I think this line of Sally Hansen is wonderful. They have a lot of color, and a lot of unique crème colors. They also make some fun glitters and shimmer polishes and recently , they’ve dived into Atleast 7 or 8 different finishes. Kudos. I love their recent polishes.
Yeah I definitely enjoy this line!!
completely agree!!! they have definitely taken up most of my collection, i honestly love them all!!!
Love the names! 😅 they’re funky and surprisingly, I feel they match the colors
Gel-eberate just screams halloweentown 🥰
Ooh yes perfect halloween color!!
Gel-ebrate is my favorite. Love how happy that shade looks. I also like twinkle whites as a topper.
Imagine them together, I bet it would be so bright and sparkly!
That orange polish is pretty sassy!
Thank you for swatching a drug store brand.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Love that orange!
Me too, it's so cheerful and bright!
Your hair looks beautiful, love the dark red and pink!
Oh thank you so much!
Brewberry my favorite. I like Sally Hansen polishes. I have a few. Thanks for the video Kelli. ❤
You are so welcome!
The miracle gel special effect top coats were so fun! I have Crystal and it is beautiful!! I want Moonlit as well but haven’t picked it up yet. I was thrilled to find flakie toppers in a drugstore line.
Ooh yeah I haven't played with any of their special top coats in a while but they're so pretty!
Thanks for the Gel clarification. Also, your hair looks fabulous !
Oh thank you so much!!
Beautiful color and funky collection. Love all reviews beacuse your so very honest.
Oh thank you so much!!
@@KelliMarissa welcome
I love them all 😍 much love kelli xx
Thank you Lisa 🥰🥰🥰
Welcome xx
Fire nation here! They have the best red stuff!!! Loool
Deffo still needs a base coat or the reds can stain... At least the ones I've used. Even though it says you don't need base with the miracle gel polishes.
Haha!! I do love fire nation fashion 💅
Great collection. I’m buying gel ebrate & Figgin love hue. I can always count on you to pick polishes for me. Ty. ❤
I’d love to see you review Sally Hansen’s specialty ‘top coats’! I love them. There’s Unicorn, Glazed, Moonlit, and Crystal. There might be more, but that’s all that’s available here in Australia so far.
I’m definitely going to get Twinkle Whites whenever it’s released down here!
Ooh I reviewed some of their specialty toppers years ago but I think they have all new ones now, I'll have to hunt them down so I can try them!
@@KelliMarissaI can’t wait!!
Also, I went to the chemist (drugstore) yesterday for some meds and these polishes are already in store in Australia! Usually we’re a little bit behind.
Figgin’ Love Hue and Twinkling Whites accidentally fell into my bag 😂😂 I’m wearing Figgin’ Love Hue on my toes right now. It reminds me of Play Date by Essie, which I’ve been meaning to get for a while (and now I don’t have to!).
Edit: I just did a quick Google to see if anyone has done a comparison between the two and couldn’t find one, but what’s really interesting is that the Play Date swatches all looked closer to Eddie’s Worth the Tassle (a more rich, blue based purple rather than the pink base of Figgin’ Love Hue). The bottle of Play Date I used to have YEARS ago wasn’t that warm from memory. I’m going to have to dig out photos of me wearing it to do a comparison now!
I like these! I picked up Sherbert Day last week and loved seeing the color on my nails. I was happy with it, and I may need that orange and Brewberry too! Oh and the Fairy one. LOL.
There are just so many pretty options haha!
A fairy to remember is my fave! Been trying to find a color just like this
It's so pretty!
Fire, one spark 🔥 bring warmth in winter 😆
Ooh that is a compelling argument hahaha
I have a few Sally Hansen, but have never been too impressed with what I see on the shelves. But this set is awesome! All the pinks and that orange! I’m getting ‘60’s color combo vibes! 😁.
It's kind of reminding me of Dunkin Donuts - in a good way! LOL!
@@KelliMarissa 😂
Hi Kelli, Hope you're doing well. I like Pink an Outfit and Brewberry best. Nice collection, when I was in hs, I used to wear Sally Hansen a lot. It's been a long time! Thanks for showing these 💗💅
Ooh yes great picks!! Glad you like them too 🥰
Beautiful polishes ❤ water,July baby
Yesss I'm a July baby too! We are just drawn to the water haha
I would love to see you do an indie polish review of Cracked Polish. Amazing colors and great quality.
Ooh I haven't heard of them before but I'll check them out!!
Ooooh...this video is different. Nice! 💞
Hope you enjoy it!
@@KelliMarissa I did enjoy it. I think you should do more vid's on lesser known products. It keeps things fresh...and besides,it creates more topics for you to do research in so that's a 'win-win' for us all! Hope all is well. Thank you! 💞
Hi Kelli, loving the hair!! Lol these polishes confused me when they first came out because I did think they were actually get for a bit 😂 I do generally like them though! I don’t wear a lot of pinks so this isn’t really the collection for me, but I love that shade of blue!! 💙
Yeah I used to think they were gel too haha! It's a little confusing!
I used to avoid them because I thought I’d need a lamp. It’s a terrible marketing strategy.
Water magic for sure!
Definitely seems like the best power to have haha
I avoided the ''gel'' line for YEARS. I only realised last year that it's regular polish because it's in clear bottle
Yeah I have a feeling a lot of people have felt the same!
I've only ever tried their Insta-Dri line, but I agree that brush is a bit too wide (especially on my toes).
Might give this like a try.
I think you'd like this brush a lot better haha!
I like this collection
Me too, the colors are so pretty together!
@@KelliMarissathanks for the tip about gel bottles. Now I know.
My favorite Miracle Gel polish is called Quartz n' Kisses. Really pretty.
Ooh I gotta look for that one!
Hard to determine the color, it kind of shifts between pink and purple lol, but it's worth it.
"Its sherbert day" looks a lot like your collab with picture polish called "bluebird," which i love pulling out every spring!
Ooh yeah definitely a similar vibe haha!
These look really good, I haven't used Sally Hansen for many, many, many years, I really don't give much thought to drugstore brands, only because I assume they won't be so good, so after this review I think maybe I should try some now, thank you so much Kelli for opening my eyes to other choices, I think these colours are really good especially the shimmery ones, very pretty
Great review as always, thanks Kelli ❤xxx
Oh yeah I have to say, I think drugstore brands have improved a lot in the last few years! They're finally catching up to the competition haha
@@KelliMarissa yes they really seem to be 👍
Other random thoughts: Affairy to Remember reminded me of MC Moonicorn but idk if its a good dupe or just similar vibes.
Also with the would u rather question, i definitely saw it in mind through atla lol-- rather do bloodbending than lightning 😅 but only for self defense or saving ppl
Love the colors. Would want to control the weather.
Ohhh that would be a nifty trick haha!
I'm actually painting my nails RIGHT NOW with a blue Sally Hansen polish 😅 called Blue Me Away and it's so pretty 💙
The second polish Affairy To Remember is giving me indie polish vibes and I hope this collection comes to my country 🤞
Ooh yeah it does have a bit of an indie feel to it doesn't it!
@@KelliMarissa yeah for real. I honestly for a moment forgot it was a Sally Hansen video 😅
I think Affairy to Remember is a dupe for Orly Beautifully Bizarre. It's pink with green shimmer.
I find Miracle Gel wears very well.
I never really wear polish for more than a couple of days but I've heard great things about MG!
I was always hesitant to buy anything from this line because of the word “Gel” too 😂 Glad to know I’m safe 😊
Haha yeah it's definitely a confusing name!
They are all pretty. But I would have liked to see another blue or yellow or a light green 😊
Ohhh a light green would have been so nice!
Thank you for the clarification on what "gel" is.
Happy to help! 😅
Water for the win.
Definitely an overpowered superpower haha
Mainstream brands rarely catch mt eye, I am partial to indies. But these are so fun!
Agreed, there is something special about these colors!
SH was my first polish (I'm 55) and I love their brush BUT it seems expensive for a drug store brand.
I was wondering if the price had increased because I could have sworn it used to cost less!
Their Xtreme line is 3-4$.. some of it is so patchy or gloopy but some is pretty good.. I'm in love with their Heart of Sass pink glitter one
Of all my polishes I don't think I have any SH Miracle Gel because I always thought you had to use their special top coat with it and I have a top coat I love from another brand. I may have to pick up the blue and orange ones, the orange looks like it might work really well for fall and Halloween too.
They do say that but tbh I've used different top coats on this brand before with no issues!
I agree, I would control water. Fire sounds like fun tho…
Hahaha I dont think I could trust myself with fire!
This will take a long time to reach europe. But the colours are cool. Ill be waiting😂😅
You can get two weeks out of a Sall Hansen miracle gel mani by puttin on two layers of the miracle gel clear top coat and making sure you wrap the tip.
Ooh thanks for the tip!
I agree that the Insta Dri brush is just a touch too wide. I still love those polishes though!
Same, I'll still use em haha I just wish they were a pinch smaller!
Very pretty! I hope you are doing well.
Thank you! 😊❤️
Speaking of gel, have you tried a gel polish peel off base? I heard there's something called jello jello in a red bottle. It peels off with like an oily kind of remover. Haven't used gel polish in ages bc of the removal process.
I haven't tried that one in particular but I do love the FUN Lacquer gel peel off base!!
I like this collection and I do like the "miracle gel" polishes however, I do prefer the Sally Hanson Color Therapy line better.
Ooh yes that is another amazing line!!
Brewberry is probably the one I'd pick up for sure!! And for the "Would you Rather" question, I'd also choose to control water, because of the same reason, where you can use water to off-set a fire. If you're an Avatar - the Last Air Bender fan, Water Bending is the next coolest skill, next to Air Bending LOL.
I always thought airbending was the weakest tbh haha!
New subbie 😊
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! 🥰
Have you tried the Dazzle Dry polish? Not a gel, but can last for up to two weeks. Its amazing.
I haven't! I should check it out for sure!
@@KelliMarissa You should, its growing in popularity. Its really improved my nail health.
Would you say Brewberry is a dupe for Holo Taco High Tea Hibiscus? They look very similar and it’s one of my favorite shades.
Yesss it's actually an exact dupe!
I think Sally Hanson have been around for far longer than Holo Taco, so the dupe is the other way around? Sally Hansen launched in 1946 whereas Holo Taco started 2019.
Does the formula vary by color,or collection, or manufacturer?
I think the Miracle Gel line is pretty consistently good quality!
Well I totally failed. When you did the ILNP velvet collection review I was all ready to get a few of those but then I saw Zoya's color of the month and ended up abandoning the other plan and buying it instead. Ordered it on Friday and it arrived today, which is my birthday lol. So I'm going to wait now on the others. This SH collection is cute though. 🥰
Ooh happy birthday Lyn! Great timing to get your nail mail haha!
@@KelliMarissa Thank you! 🥰
It really dries out my nails. I use a base coat. I like the variety of colors.
Ooh that's good to know, maybe a ridge filler base would help!
I was confused by the miracle gel line so avoided buying 😅.
P.S. Any makeup channels you recommend?
Ahh I actually don't watch makeup content to be honest!! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful 🙈🙈
that blue looks a lot like the new Orly Ripple effect? is it similar?
I talked about the differences during the swatch! 😅
@@KelliMarissa Gah! I don't know how I missed that. sorry
Pretty colors. I just dont know why they still make only 3 free polishes.
I know certain lines are more "free" but i think it's just dependent on what they are trying to make! I don't know if this is true but I've always heard that the less "free" polishes tend to last longer on the nails, which I guess makes sense for the "gel" line!
$12.99!? Has Sally Hansen always been this expensive or is this just the top of their line? I usually think of SH as being $5-$6. Kelli, have you tried Night Owl lacquer? I’m just getting into nail polish and curious about this indie brand.
I was actually wondering the same, but I do think it's cheaper in drugstores than it is online! I haven't tried that brand before!!
❤
🥰🥰🥰
Honestly the colors are kinda boring for me, just because I have enough of pink polishes. I would have come up with cooler birthday inspired colors. But I do love that orange!
I think it's probably tough to find the right balance because the Sally Hansen demographic is probably just casual nail polish wearers who would be more likely to pick a "typical" color haha!
I always avoided this line bc I literally thought it was a gel polish from SH - wow 10 years in and I bought all the other lines but not this one... I feel like I've missed out on so many pretty shades :(
Honestly you're not alone, a lot of people avoided it for the same reason! Luckily they have lots of pretty new ones to try 😅
I think they should have put the "It's Sherbet Day" name on the orange cream color, and "Gel-ebrate" could have easily been used on the blue shimmery shade. Just a missed naming opportunity, in my opinion, because an orange sherbet shade makes more sense to me, lol.
Ooh good point haha, orange sherbet does make more sense 😂
How do they wear on nails 💅
It really depends on the person and nail chemistry! For some people they last two weeks, others only a few days 😅 it's tough to judge overall wear time for polish since everyone is so different!
I've been using Sally Hansen hard as nails. Nail strengthener all my life. I never knew that they had a nail polish line
Ohh yeah they make some amazing polishes, you should totally try them!
@@KelliMarissa My husband got me some today Big Apple -tini and Fanta-seas. I wanted a green polish. And I fell in love with the coverage and color
I can't, in good consciousness, pay $13 for a drug store brand. 🤷🏾♀️ They're pretty, though. Your eye makeup is stunning, by the way!!!😍
Oh thank you so much! They are cheaper in actual drugstores thankfully haha they are $9.79 at Target!
I hate when they say "gel" and it's just ain't so. Personally, I do not like gel polish. It ruins my nailbeds. I have good nails and I like to keep them that way.
Now, I love Sally Hansen. I use her quick dry top coat always. It was the first one I ever saw. I've used it ever since. I have a ton of Sally Hansen polishes. Even the Gel line. I do love this color story. It's so happy and bright. I'm picking these up. I need some new pink cremes anyway. My granddaughter loves pink. Plus the price is great for such a big bottle. ❤
If you're not a retail snob these are a little cheaper at Walmart than at Target, like most things usually are. A lot of people are on a tighter budget these days with the economy being the way it is, so just thought i would mention that.
Ooh good to know! I honestly can't imagine anyone being too snobby to shop at Walmart but happy to shop at Target tbh haha! I think of them as very similar and very convenient stores 😅
Water is definitely the sensible option, but I'm too much of a pyromaniac not to choose fire 😂
Hahaha fair!!!
Thank you for clarifying the gel issue. I honestly find it deceptive & that really bothers me. There are many other ways they could describe the shine (which is decent, but not much different from other quality non-gels)
a typical decent quality gel is going to be at least twice the price of a drugstore polish. So, if people see a "gel" for just a little more than the other polishes, they might think they're getting great deal. Especially if it's SH, not some unknown mystery brand.
I imagine a lot of people have jumped on it. It could be a great boost to sales - temporarily.
People who fall for it feel like they've been deceived. They are not buying it again. They aren't recommending it to friends. Most importantly, the people who are buying polish have a negative impression of the brand.
Losing consumer trust can do real damage even to a big brand like SH.
I was gifted a sh "gel" & it confused me because of the clear bottle. I remember pulling out my lamp and doing a set
Id pick fire. Instant place of warmth in winter? Count me in.
Ooh that is a good point lol
Thank you for reviewing an available drug store brand. can't always buy online.
I can definitely do more, glad you enjoyed it!!
For YEARS I wasn’t buying anything that said Gel on it because I thought it required a lamp to cure. I’m curious how Sally Hansen and Orly ended up with such a similar polish in their spring release… 🧐
A lot of times brands will use fashion shows as inspo, I wonder if that color was predicted to be a big one for spring 24 or was in a lot of shows!
Gel is very misleading. It's like they think gel means it's "better".
Love the would you rather question, I agree with you on controlling water. I'm going to ask my 9 year old daughter when she gets home from school, she loves these types of questions 😅
Yeah I agree with you on the gel naming, but for those of us who prefer regular polish it actually has a negative effect lol!
@@KelliMarissa 100%!
If you control water, with what powers of the “H2O-just add water” characters would you control it?
(The mermaid series, the characters could freeze, boil or mold water in different shapes.)
Ooh freezing water is cool but I'd love to be able to boil water so I could cook pasta faster LOL
@@KelliMarissa that makes perfect sense! 😂
I will say this* as a disclaimer regarding their gel claim: I lent a bottle to my friend who did not use the top coat (I never do this so I wouldn't know), and she said the polish DID NOT DRY. So I think that might be why they're referencing a special formula, HOWEVER it should be called or compared to a gel. That's also my pet peeve!
I have heard that their top coat helps seal in the polish but I've also had them dry fine when I use another brand of top coat! Maybe they should have done something like Picture Polish with their curable line - they acknowledge that it's not quite a gel but it's not a polish either!
I had a dumbfounded moment where someone really thought their Essie's nail polish was gel polish cause of this whole naming thing and I just blinked and decided not to explain since this person was a casual nail polish user vs me lol who had to explain jelly polish, magnetic, etc during a girls night i hosted.
Well now I feel stupid.... I never could figure out why gel polish bottles were opaque and now that you said it, I'm like duh! Of couse, as someone who burns in minutes and lives in a basement apartment with blackout curtains and a 40W bulb (other than bathroom is brighter), UV is not normally part of my life. 🤣🤣🤣
Haha!! Don't even worry about it, it's one of those things we all think about even if we don't realize 🤣
@@KelliMarissa takes me back to the first time after being in indie polish world I heard use thinner not acetone since acetone breaks down polish in bottle like it does on nails. 🤣
