I totally agree about rushing the seasons. I feel that big box stores such as Walmart are partly to blame. My thinking for this is I actually know some people who work there and they put out back to school on Fourth of July and Halloween on August 1st. This year they were actually told if the back-to-school section got too picked over, to supplement it with the Halloween before August 1st. My sister-in-law's a manager and she said they are pressured to sell out of a season- before the season hits by at least a month. In my opinion that's just rushing things not leaving me a chance to enjoy the seasons as they come.

Oh my gosh. The holiday situation at the stores is ridiculous. I can’t think about Halloween or Christmas in August when it’s 98 degrees outside. I live in Atlanta so we do have actual seasons and Halloween and Christmas aren’t during the summer.
Would you do a roundup of your favorite bridal shades? You’ve used that label a lot lately and I’d love to see a favorites video of those all together.
Beyond Polish has become my go-to for nail polish. My orders have processed and shipped really quickly often coming within 3 days! They also package things up really well in small boxes with a reasonable amount of bubble wrap so the polishes aren't moving around and can't get crushed. I've definitely had polishes bought elsewhere show up damaged and that hasn't happened yet. I also love their mystery boxes. I can get kind of iffy about trying new brands or colors so a mystery box is a low-stakes way for me to get out of my comfort zone.
OPI is such a solid, reliable brand. I can appreciate them doing more "thinking outside of the box" recently, but it kinda seems like they took a leap towards something different without really having a good grasp on it yet. As many have pointed out, Hot and Coaled is a perfect example of great potential but missed the mark. That being said, I'm totally in love with Hot Toddy Naughty. It's the rich color and premium formula that I count on OPI to deliver.
“Peppermint Bark And Bite” is the standout winner of this collection for me! I love “blackened” polishes that still have colour because they look so classy, and I always love a green! 💚🖤
"Next we have Let's Scrooge, oh my gosh I just got that one..." LMAO🤣🤣Thank you so much for the laugh! Before you said it on Hot & Cold - I thought it looked like Pineapples Have Feelings Too. Not for me. I love the 1st 2 and the last 3, but I think I can use other polishes to make Chill'em with Kindness. The greens are nice.
Two thumbs up for Kelli’s collection review. Unfortunately, OPI admittedly sells their products in countries that test their products on animals, so they’re not a 100% cruelty-free brand. I recycled 50 OPI bottles 3 years ago for this reason. I corresponded with OPI customer service & expressed interest in 100% cruelty-free OPI products. 🍁
It's disappointing that some countries still require animal testing :( I wish they could be done withit, especially now seeing the quality of vegan and cruelty free polishes that exist in the world!
Yes and yes! I don’t buy OPI for this reason. There are so many brands who don’t test their products on animals or sell in countries where third party testing is or may be required. I still watch Kelli’s OPI reviews because I feel like they’re such a mainstream staple, and I like to know what’s going on in that space.
Ok, I wore princesses Rule for my wedding. The Salty Sweet Nothings looks very similar. Hot & Coald is a bit of a mess. It should have just been a black jelly with glitter.
I think the stores are welcome to put stuff out early if they so choose, but don’t make it unavailable within the season it is meant for. For example, have Halloween stuff available from end of July through Halloween (duh!), but feel free to also bring Christmas stuff out during that time, as long as it’s still available and in stock at Christmas time. It’s not cool if I need a stocking for my mantle two weeks before Christmas and they’re all completely gone already.
Totally agree - I used to be excited about stuff coming out early but now they give the sense of urgency by not restocking during the season and it is terrible imo!!
I totally agree - love when mainstream brands try more indie-style polishes! Love those flakie type polishes as well! And of course OPI always kills the reds and pinks, though I’m happy that this collection has a lot of color variety!
100% agree about rushing the holidays. It’s honestly been kind of ruining a lot of the holiday spirit for me the past few years. Seeing Christmas trees next to clearance 4th of July items is just so depressing to me. Not to mention how frustrating it is to not be able to find decorations and whatnot when you want them, as you mentioned! Maybe someday retailers will start listening, but I think they just look at their bottom line 😓
Yeah, and because people are catching onto the fact that things sell out early, they're scrambling to buy early and retailers think it's being received well because everyone's buying stuff up in July lol
Chill em" with kindness is so beautiful. When you started swatching Five Golden Flings, I instantly thought of honey mustard. Not sure where that came from but that's what I thought.
I love the risks/direction that OPI is trying these days but SAME on holiday pushing earlier and earlier! In the Philippines Christmas starts in the -ber months but they don't have Halloween or Thanksgiving. LET ME HAVE SPOOKY SEASON IN FULL
I agree about the rushing of seasons and how each year it gets worse...here in Australia the shops start selling hot cross buns and Easter eggs straight after boxing day 🙄 it's crazy
It sucks that if I want to even have a chance at any cool Halloween decorations I'm shopping for them in July and right on the heels there's Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love Halloween and to me it's an all year thing, but this push to put things out sooner and sooner has somewhat took some of the magic out of the holiday seasons, specific times when that holiday is the focus, Christmas especially. Hell I'm just wondering when Valentines hearts are going to start showing up.
I feel like we bypassed everything this year and went straight to Christmas which suxxxx!!!! Loved this review , getting a pedi today and I know what color Im going to do from this collection Thank you!
1) you cracked me up on Let’s Scrooge 😂😂 2) Pineapples Have…is the shade I love to hate. Will NEVER get rid of it bc it’s so ugly but I really like this black version of it. As always, I feel like they did a great job. Glad they didn’t dupe some of the recent holiday collections.
I just wish things stayed available during the season as well! It stinks that all the holiday stuff is sold out by November when I'm starting to get into the spirit :(
I’m a sucker for reds♥️ and pinks🩷. I agree with you about appreciating mainstream brands taking a chance and going outside the box. Indie brand prices aren’t accessible to everyone and it’s nice to see mainstream brands trying even if it’s not always successful 😊💗
Yess! Sinful Colors is a great example of doing funky things for a very accessible price, but I haven't seen them pop up with any new collections recently 🤔
The two greens are awesome 😍 The two shimmery pinks in the first row in the comp card , the Toddy one and the grey speckled sparkle are beautiful. The best collection 😅
Appreciate OPI branching out a bit in their finishes. A few I feel I already have from other indies. But OPI is a reliable formula accessible for most people, so good on them for this collection.
On the one hand; I appreciate the more unique color story for the winter. On the other that baby poop Golden Flings feels like a Choice. The greens and that brown are gorgeous though
I'm so here for the greens, the first shade and the yay or nah shade 👀👀❤️❤️❤️ Love the pink look 💖💖💜💜 I definitely agree when stores are putting stuff for Christmas way early, is October let Halloween shine 😔
Very nice collection. I like Salty Sweet Nothings, It’s a Wonderful Spice, Peppermint Bark and Bite, Let’s Scrooge, Put On Something Ice, Hot Toddy Naughty, Five Golden Flings and Yay or Neigh.
OPI was my gateway drug, I mean quality nail polish too! I do love that they're trying different things. Not sure if I'll get any of them but I also probably won't hit up a winter/Christmas collection before Halloween lol
Just wondering if you have thought about swatching Clionadh Nail Lacquer? I know you love greens and purples (ditto) and theirs are pretty awesome, and sort of remind me of KB Shimmer too! Thank you for this video ❤️💕❤️
It's the same with Easter. Much as I love stocking up on mini eggs on January 1st 🤤 I also want to be able to buy eggs the week of, but they're always sold out!
I'm gonna need those 2 greens. 😍 I also like Yay or Neigh. I like Hot and Coaled, but I also like Pineapples Have Peelings. 😬 This is a good collection overall. I totally agree about Halloween being bypassed. I get annoyed when I'm in a store and they already have the Christmas stuff out when there is still a Halloween. I don't like shopping early for stuff either!
Hot Toddy Naught is gorgeous! It’s a nice set but I wouldn’t buy them all, definitely a few of them tho! Some I think definitely could be worn anytime. Yes I agree! I want Halloween in October, fall/Thanksgiving in November and Christmas in December! I feel like many almost bypass Thanksgiving all together! Thanksgiving is my favorite partly because of my and other family members birthday! 😊❤
I loved the metallics in this collection - really unique and different but still celebratory and “holiday.” My Hot & Coaled was so thick and gloopy; had no pond effect and I absolutely hated it. Interesting collection - the more I look at swatches the more different polishes stand out. Let’s Scrooge maybe best holiday collection name ever? Lollll
Christmas comes earlier and earlier every year with these stores. I agree you don’t get to enjoy the season you’re in because Christmas comes after summer these days. Side note: what do you use to dry your nails?
Honestly I usually just let them air dry! I live in a pretty dry climate now so it doesn't take long. But when I lived in a very humid area I had a nail dryer from Amazon!
These are beautiful. When looking to buy, they have 2 different ones. The regular nail lacquer and infinite shine. Is there a difference? Im very new to nice polishes, made my first holo taco and orly purchases because of your reviews 🙂. I have not purchased OPI before.
I've worn Hot and Coaled, and I think the lumps are the "coal". 😅 I love it ~ it's one of the more interesting colors I have. I'm wearing It's a Wonderful Spice today, and it's my perfect 🍁Fall 🍁 shade ~ TYSM for these videos ~ really helps me pair down my purchases, since I can see how they perform before I buy ❤
omg five golden flings & yay or neight are sooo fun and unique!! definitely more fall/halloween vibes though, which i don't mind. i hope i can find these in stores eventually.
I noticed a lot of comments about holiday stuff coming out too soon. Unfortunately, thats just how retail works. My story manager has to order holidays 6 months in advance. I see the stuff come in and nearly cringe lol
I totally agree. I hate that stores put stuff up so early and when you want to get it you can’t find it anywhere and they up the price online too. It never used to be this way. I remember Christmas stuff did not get put out until after the macy’ s day parade because Santa would come at the end and that was the kick off of the Christmas season. Now everyone is in such a rush that you can’t enjoy the holidays anymore. It’s so frustrating
@@KelliMarissa Oh 100%! But it seems to be an acceptable low/mid range priced dupe. . . That could be a fun video idea too come to think of it. . . Budget dupes for fancy indies 🤷♀️
my immediate thought when i saw Hot Toddy Naughty and that shimmer was: is it secretly magnetic? the only OPI i have are the two secret magnetics from a previous winter collection, but i would 100% be looking for this one if it is!
This collection is very different for opi but nice to see although far too early but as you say everything gets earlier every year, by the time Christmas arrives they'll probably have the spring collection out, it's hard to keep up sometimes 😂 Anyway I'm sure most of these will make their way into my collection eventually So thanks for a great review as always Kelli 👍xx
Hi Kelli! I wore Yay or Neigh mattified and it was gorgeous! I’m wearing some of these for fall too. Did you see the Orly Breathable Fall collection? It’s classic Fall and I’m loving it!!
Honestly I don't mind it being out early, but I hate that I have to scramble to buy holiday stuff so far in advance because they don't restock it when it's closer to the actual season/holiday!
Shared. Thank you for doing a great job showing these, and the discount code 💖💅 My 2 favorites are- It's a wonderful spice and Rebel without a clause. I didn't see this collection before now, but wish I had. This is way early for the Christmas collection. Retail just gets worse and worse with doing that. Everything is rushed.
I feel like Hot and Coaled would work better if there was no shimmer, and the glitters were mostly small with a few stand out big pieces. The glitters just don't lay right and the shimmer really obscures it. I had a lot of hope when you showed it in the bottle, because I feel like ILNP does that type of black jelly really well, and it'd be fun for OPI to get into those finishes as well. They almost hit it! But it's just too chunky/lumpy and the colors don't come through like the bottle promises. But overall this collection is really nice! I love Five Golden Rings, Yay or Neigh, and Peppermint Bark and Bite - all of which I would use in the Fall and the Winter! I also think Sickeningly Sweet is the perfect Halloween lavender, but it really spans all seasons!
I totally agree with Companies/stores coming out with seasonal stuff way to soon. And yeah, it’s getting worse. It’s hard to tell on videos and I know it’s not the same finish, but is Salty Sweet Nothings base color similar to Metallic Composition? That’s one of my favorite OPI colors that I own. On the Hot & Coaled, I don’t know but something’s off about it. It just looks weird to me.😂 Thanks for the swatch & review Kelli! You rock!❤
I do agree stores rushing through all the holidays is insane and perplexing; feels like they just want to get it all over with. I've seen stores with July 4th/Halloween, and Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas layouts in October. But, personally like and love the fact that Halloween items come out very early as it's only a single day (versus 3 days for thanksgiving break and winter break/christmas break). As a kid I felt like they would put items out way too late and everything would get swept off the shelves almost immediately. Living in California it's hot until late November, so it's nice to think about a cool(er) autumn and changing foliage, although everything is perpetually brown and beige here due to the drought. Also, nothing like a scary movie to bring you chills during a hot summer day. I'm in a census where I celebrate Summer-ween. Some celebrate on June 22nd, other on their own day (I do first friday of August).
The decoration thing makes me so mad! I feel the same way-I want to enjoy the season/holiday in the moment. And right now I’m not in the mood to shop for Christmas stuff, but I guess I’d better start. Remember not too long ago when not only would you be able to buy Halloween or Christmas stuff right up to the day, but the next day they’d have everything that was left over marked down to like 75% off. So I would buy a lot of my stuff December 26th because that was the best deals on everything then I have things to look forward to next year!
Well, in Argentina the Christmas collection is the only one we get kind of "on time". Polishes are released here according to the season so I won't be able to purchase anything from the zodiac collection until march or april. But this is actually a bummer. Because we get the spring, summer and hollyday collection in three months (which means having to save a lot of money to be able to buy all the polishes that I like) and then wait 3 or 4 months for the fall collection, and then NOTHING for 6 months until the new spring collections arrives.
Put on something ice, Shaking my sugarplums, Let's scrooge are my favs! Great swatches but I will skip all of them, they are not cheap in my country and I would pay more for good holographic nail polish or neon or some unusual wow effect! I have my favs here but they are not wow for me! I'm used to painting my nails in three coats because I have ridges 🥴
Ooh do you use a ridge filling base? I usually don't because I don't have many ridges but I've found so many great ones recently that make my nails feel so smooth!
Wow! I’m so surprised! A lot of these polishes are so autumnal and will also work for the holidays. Well done, OPI! I can see myself wearing several of these polishes. As for me, I have been noticing stores, etc, going for holidays earlier and earlier for several years now. I do find it annoying! When I was very young I always looked forward to going Christmas shopping with my parents and seeing all the decorations and Christmas displays up during the Christmas season- not before the tres started changing colors in the fall! It takes the joy and Christmas anticipation away when it comes earlier and earlier. I really don’t appreciate the trend that keeps coming earlier and earlier each year. It really does change the ambiance of each holiday in a way that isn’t a good thing. It creates a disconnect from the shopping time and the actual holiday you are shopping for🏖🎄🎁🙄🤪
I agree, something about holiday shopping in December feels so special and now we don't get to do it anymore - I don't want to buy Christmas decor in July haha!

They are just consistently good quality!!!
Beautiful colors ❤
Agreed!!!
That's true, it gets forgotten in the scramble of Christmas haha!
I agree, I remember when no one would dare put out Xmas crap before black friday
I honestly miss those days lol!
Lollll
Honestly that H&C polish is definitely too thick! But yes Let's Scrooge made me GASP lol!!!
Oooo I never would gravitate towards Peppermint Bark and Bite but it’s stunning! Also Five Golden Flings is calling my name 😅 well done, Kelli! ❤
Yay I'm glad you liked them!! 😅
Blame the mistletoe is romantic 💕
Totally agree
Loved the green shades 🎉🎉🎉
These are beautiful. When looking to buy, they have 2 different ones. The regular nail lacquer and infinite shine. Is there a difference? Im very new to nice polishes, made my first holo taco and orly purchases because of your reviews 🙂. I have not purchased OPI before.
I really like Hot and Coaled~ I'll have to get it, and a few others ~ such pretty colors, and interesting finishes❤🎉🥂💃🏼
I agree, they definitely did a great job creating unique finishes here!
They really are creative colors!
Exactly my thoughts!
I grabbed three of these. I love them!
Ooh which ones did you end up getting??
@@KelliMarissa Yea or Neigh, Hot Toddy, and Five Golden Flings. Of course, after watching this I want them all!! lol!
Let's scroogeeeee..alllll dayyyyy
It's so beautiful!
Can you recommend a better version of shaking my sugarplums, one that needs less coats?
I need those flakie polishes 🥰🤩✨✨
Seriously stunning! I hope they do this finish more often!
Yay or Neigh reminds me of one from one of the Small Brand Sunday brands you've covered. . . Maybe Cadillaquer. . .
I can see the similarities! Although I'd probably choose the Cadillacquer option over OPI just because those multichromes flakes are so special haha!
@@KelliMarissa Oh 100%! But it seems to be an acceptable low/mid range priced dupe. . . That could be a fun video idea too come to think of it. . . Budget dupes for fancy indies 🤷♀️
Are you going to review the Mooncat Nightmare Before Christmas collection? Love your videos 😊❤️
Yesss it'll be up tomorrow!!!
Definitely getting the greens love the really dark green don't have any color like that one
It's so beautiful!!
my immediate thought when i saw Hot Toddy Naughty and that shimmer was: is it secretly magnetic? the only OPI i have are the two secret magnetics from a previous winter collection, but i would 100% be looking for this one if it is!
Ooh I gotta check 👀
I like Hot and coaled, it's my sort of thing. Actually I like most of them! All the sparkly ones! 😁
They really did a great job withthis collection!
@@KelliMarissa They did indeed! It's so pretty! 😍
This collection is very different for opi but nice to see although far too early but as you say everything gets earlier every year, by the time Christmas arrives they'll probably have the spring collection out, it's hard to keep up sometimes 😂
Anyway I'm sure most of these will make their way into my collection eventually
So thanks for a great review as always Kelli 👍xx
I've noticed in past years that the OPI spring collection generally releases on or about January 1!!
Hi Kelli! I wore Yay or Neigh mattified and it was gorgeous! I’m wearing some of these for fall too. Did you see the Orly Breathable Fall collection? It’s classic Fall and I’m loving it!!
Ooh I need to try these matte! And YESSS I can't wait to swatch them, they're gorgeous!!!
When I worked at Big Lots years ago, we were always 2 seasons ahead.
I think with mainstream brands they have to release it earlier in order to get it available internationally, but I'm not 100% certain 😅😅
Could you please show toppers on plain nails? I like wearing toppers on their own.. thanks Kelli..
Sorry I usually do, I just forgot this time!
Yeah overall a great collection but that black is a miss for me too haha!
Halloween I'll always make an exception for because I love Halloween stuff year round LOL!
Oh yes! And now you have to buy it months ahead of time to prepare lol so frustrating!
Chill 'em with kindness looks like it would be good for a sparkly ghost with a glow-in-the-dark topcoat over it! 0.0
Ohhhh now that's an idea!!! 👻👻
It's been so long since they had a nice deed Emerald!!
💚💚💚
Well, in Argentina the Christmas collection is the only one we get kind of "on time". Polishes are released here according to the season so I won't be able to purchase anything from the zodiac collection until march or april. But this is actually a bummer. Because we get the spring, summer and hollyday collection in three months (which means having to save a lot of money to be able to buy all the polishes that I like) and then wait 3 or 4 months for the fall collection, and then NOTHING for 6 months until the new spring collections arrives.
That is so frustrating!! I wish it wasn't so difficult to ship nail polish internationally 😭
