Khatia Buniatishvili is an incredibly elegant pianist. Her performances are filled with grace and beauty as she effortlessly glides her fingers across the piano keys. With every note she plays, she captivates her audience with a sense of elegance that is truly unmatched. Ms. Buniatishvili is the definition of Class. At the end of her performance, she hurries to thank all of the soloists and leads in the orchestra before coming back and bowing to the audience herself. She then quickly askes the everyone to stand and takes another bow with Maestro Makela, acknowledging the group effort of all present. This, plus the beauty of the music itself, helps restore some of my faith in humanity.

True. You would never see Arthur Rubinstein moving around. He would just sit statue like and only move his hands. Times have changed and I would say for the better.
What never ceases to amaze me is that I used to have enough problems memorizing one stave of music performing the Mozart Clarinet concerto, yet pianists have to memorize FOUR staves of music! Technical genius combined with absolute pure musical and artistic virtuosity! I've seen and heard many performances of this work, and her emotional interpretation is amongst the best of them all. Watch closely and throughout the entire work she is frequently looking over at the other musicians in the orchestra, enjoying and admiring THEIR performance. WOW!
In addition to undeniable talent, she adds a personal touch to the work and a touch of sensuality which she plays very well. Class, even if it displeases die-hard purists.

I love Tchaikovsky music. She plays as if she felt every note.Masterful performance. How can you play such a piece on the piano without sheet piano? I love her so much, such an inspiring and beautiful young woman. Oh, and one my favorite pianists of all time after Martha Argerich..Respect...
Incredible performance! Khatia is growing into a league of her own. Such incredible passion throughout. Magnificent video as well - what superb camera work and audio. Tchaikovsky’s composition here leaves me breathless. Bravo to all!
I listened her performance of this concert several years ago. She has really grown a lot as an artist. I'm also Georgian and there is a huge debate among Georgian pianists (there are a few of strong Georgian artists) and critiques about her abilities and class. Eliso Virsaladze who is also very strong old school artist (ruclips.net/video/msBK0fS4iWI/видео.html) hates her. They really underestimate Khatia. Her performance is really lit!!!! I feel it to the core!!!!!!
Thank you very much for sharing this video. Khatia is really listening to the orchestra players individually and enjoying the collaboration. So, Audience couldn’t help Not to clap after the first mvt. I felt the same way 👏 👏
Infectious energy and an obvious joy with what she's doing. No one engages her fellow musicians like Khatia. Her touch has steadily grown smoother, so now she performs with even more power and grace.
What a beautiful rendition by Khatia and the Orchestre de Paris. The second movement moved me to tears, as it always does, taking me back to 1945 when I stood next to Greig's piano at Troldhaugen and looked out through the window, with the sunlight dappling the birch tree leaves and the water beyond, glistening. Then, when about to leave, I was invited to join a private wedding party in the garden. Everyone was in national dress, and of course, they danced to 'Wedding at Troldhaugen,'
The expression, the passion, the mannerism, the technique, the musicality, the coordination are presented in this performance. Khatia is like none others.
If you take into account her laughably over-fast tempos in the middle of the 2nd movement and the coda of the 3rd movement, it's shocking, yes, but no more so than what she does at the ends of the Grieg and Rachmaninoff 2nd concertos. And, heaven help us, how can we hope to erase from our minds her maniacal, mindless execution of Prokofiev's "Precipitato" finale from his 7th sonata? We know how capable she can be of playing with sensitivity and musical conviction. Why, then, does she allow herself to do the Lang Lang thing, that is, "You won't believe how fast I can barrel through this"? Does she mistakenly think that these speed-just-for-the-sake-of-speed outbursts add to the excitement felt by the audience? Perhaps it might be wise for Khatia and that Asian pianist to question their occasional temptation (tendency?) to over-indulge in sheer velocity. They are probably aware that today's enthusiastic (and somewhat uninformed) viewers are ready and willing to accept anything that reaches their ears and eyes, all the while exclaiming that they've "never heard (in the case of Lang, add the words 'or seen') a performance like it". But aware or not, they should certainly show more respect for the composers' indications.
a very YOUNG conductor who knows what he's doing. a good-looking woman jamming on keys. and a GREAT playing orchestra behind her. who could ask for anything more.
These great musicians deserve playing Tchaikovsky's first piano concerto. Buniatishvili has excelled in emotional interpretation. It is transcending to listen to and see her play the piano. Thank you God, for this gift. The conductor and the orchestra have established such an admirable rapport. Cameras and directing are superb. Sound recording is, however, surprisingly very very poor. Despite all the notes that have gone unheard and the sounds inaudible, the music here is a masterpiece. I am greatly delighted to see Ms. Buniatishvili playing on stage again. Thank you C P 🙏
Khatia is a magnificent performer who translates the classics into modern day feelings and emotions by her gestures by her looks by her emotions & performance which ooze out of her persona and Translate the composers work into a living expression of her and him that come together with the piano. Magnificent memorable and makes you feel alive as you are listening to a legend playing a legend. Thank you Khatia. Ray Lambton Meyerson-Renaissance Man, Linkin author

Exquisite, marvelous performance by Katia, with wonderful interplay between her, orchestra and conductor. The most joyous performance of this piece I have seen. Katia’s best performance yet - emotionally powerful, lyrically sensitive, and crisp and effervescent as a virtuoso. She played with such freedom, joy and love as never before. Bravo! ❤
A wonderful interpretation by Buniatishvili, Makela, and the Orchestre de Paris. I have a feeling Tchaikovsky would be pleased (in spite of the controversy over the opening piano chords).

I love Tchaikovsky music. She plays as if she felt every note.Masterful performance. How can you play such a piece on the piano without sheet piano? I love her so much, such an inspiring and beautiful young woman. Oh, and one my favorite pianists of all time after Martha Argerich..Respect...
Not only without pianosheets, but also mostly with her eyes closed! It is the top of the top.
Khatia is without any doubt one of the most romantic pianists of her generation...
I felt the same way 👏 👏
Just breathtaking... She's Mozart and Beethoven all rolled into one. God's blessing to us in living, beautiful color. God bless you Khatia!
The embodiment of Goodness, Truth, Beauty, and SUPERB talent. Watching over and over.
Infectious energy and an obvious joy with what she's doing. No one engages her fellow musicians like Khatia. Her touch has steadily grown smoother, so now she performs with even more power and grace.
Thank you god for all these great musicians we are able to enjoy. There are no words to describe such magnificent performance.
A beautiful memory.) But, 1945. How old are you, sir?"
I am a young man of 89!!

The expression, the passion, the mannerism, the technique, the musicality, the coordination are presented in this performance. Khatia is like none others.
Absolutely divine performance. I adore her.
DAMN!!! I enjoyed this.
A very TALENTED woman on the keyboard.... Coincidently, also beautiful.
@@SteveB776 I agree.
The shear power Khatia Buniatishvili can pull from the piano is jaw dropping. if you don't get goosebumps, I don't know what will.
Goosebumps and tears.
Elegance, beauty, perfection, purity....So lucky to watch a goddess! The Goddess!
Maga, a művèszet, csodàlatos teremtmèny
Khatia is a magnificent performer who translates the classics into modern day feelings and emotions by her gestures by her looks by her emotions & performance which ooze out of her persona and Translate the composers work into a living expression of her and him that come together with the piano. Magnificent memorable and makes you feel alive as you are listening to a legend playing a legend. Thank you Khatia.

Amazing music; and her smiling during some of the difficult passages is great.
This is superb; apart from the obvious talent on display, you can see the control, and influence, of this fabulous conductor
She is a magnificent performer !!!
Sensacional !

Most of All ... She is a wonderful pianist !!
The world's best pianist !!
Agreed❤
Khatia!!!.
I never get tired of watching this. So much talent and is so absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to see you! October ‘23 NYC. ❤️
you can get tired of anything if you don't keep it fresh.
@@frereanaktom99 Wrong still not tired 🥺
So beautiful this work of Tchaikovski. Bunyatishvili is a master of the piano! I could not help it. Tears came to my eyes.
My ear can pick up every note much easier than I recall when hearing other artists; seems like strong phrasing. I think she knows the piece really well. :) And has manifest fun playing it.😃
I think she knows the piece SO WELL she could direct it from her piano. She look on each musician right in the moment their solo is due. And tlaends them appreciation after their finished. She is AMAZING!!!

Magnificent interpretation!!!
Kathia dazzles us with her always surprising mastery! It’s a real pleasure to listen to and watch these exceptional moments again.
Best interpretation I´ve ever heard of this concerto...
I did not know Khatia: my dear me, how great you are; so divine young Lady!!!
She is amazing. An absolute joy to see and listen to her music.
