The "men don't approach women at night" story reminds me of a story I read a few months ago. It was about a guy who said he'd started to realize that women would cross the street before getting near him, so he started crossing the street first to make them feel a lot more comfortable. It was kind of neat.

A man I dated for a while told me that he "kept an eye" on a woman at night by following her from afar... when I asked what he would have done of she did get attacked he said he maybe would have done something it the attacker was alone.i had to explain to him what the woman must have felt for him to understand how wrong it was to good her, like she was probably keeping an eye on him (the creep following her) rather than some one else who might also be around in the dark. Such a stupid thing to do!

I feel like context matters of course but I'd say more often than not guys are looking out for their friends/acquintances. By context he might've been awkward or something. Usually I only watch out for those I personally know to some degree (on a night out) unless I see anything unusual (ie if I see a drunk guy/girl unaware of their surroundings I'll either call out to see if their friends are around or get them stationary and ask if they need help)

Like, I remember when I was like 13 or smth and my chest and hips were growing (mind you I'm genderfluid, so it was a terrifing experience in itself), my mom wuould start like warning me to keep away from vans and men I don't know. She still warns me about that when I'm wearing tighter clothes, or a skirt. Yesterday I had a mental breakdown and went for a walk in a bad state of mind at the middle of the night and got chased down a street by three drunk foreign men.

I walked around the city at night and then confronted my mentally abusive granpa, who is responsible for my trauma surrounding Christmas and practically ruined my life with his bullshit.

If you're scared showing emotions makes you seem weak, you should try to think like this: Being abled to show emotion shows others that you are so strong, you don't need to hide them to be strong. Heck, the *Bible* literally condemns people who are rich. "It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." I'm majorly paraphrasing, but yeah, and there's plenty of other places. And I would know, I was raised in a conservative Christian house.
I also wasn't raised in a super-wealthy household; I wouldn't say we were impoverished, but my mom was a stay at home mom, and my dad was the only source of income. He was a truck driver who worked 70+ hours a week just to keep us afloat. We've been renting the same place for 11+ years because it's the cheapest townhouse complex in our city. All of my friends growing up had more money than us. If I had to put us on a "class rank", I'd say we're lower middle class. (That being said, I'm much luckier than a lot of people, and my heart goes out to everyone who goes to bed hungry because they have no food in the house or who grew up in a household with abusive/alcoholic/drug-addicted families.)
My dad wants me to marry some doctor dude and have a really nice house and car and live on an acreage on the outskirts of a really nice city, but I'd be perfectly content staying middle class and just having a moderate house in a small town. I also don't particularly want to marry a guy.... I'm pansexual with a feminine preference, which my parents don't know. My current girlfriend is trans, but my parents think she's a guy because they don't know she's trans, and probably won't be accepting of her when they find out heh. I'm nonbinary myself, which they also don't know. (And the ironic thing is, the Bible doesn't even speak at all against trans people. Also, if you do a little digging about the places in the Bible that could at all be used against people who aren't straight, then you'll quickly find that things aren't as simple as they appear. I will link some informational sites if anyone wants to in the replies.)
So yeah. If anything, I'd say it's better to be on the poorer side, but we should definitely help people who are homeless or orphaned or even those that just need a friend. I hope you all stay safe out there and I love you regardless of who you are. ❤

storytime: I'm the second most muscular out of my friends (Yes, including my guy friends). I can kick harder than a donkey and potentially crush melons between my thighs. The one about poverty bringing out the best qualities in people made me so mad. My mom immigrated from a part of Brazil that was really badly in poverty. She didn't have running water, she didn't have a car, she had to walk 3 hours roundtrip to go to school, her dad made the equivalent to 10 US dollars a week, her mom died when she was 8, her siblings abused her, she was raped by her older brothers, and she endured gang shootings. She still has trauma. Poverty is not a kink. It's a real problem that affects real people.

I can actually kinda relate to this. When I was younger my family was traveling and we were at this outdoor market thing and I had to go to the bathroom so my mom asked around to find one. When we walked in we saw some guy peeing and my mom immediately dragged me out to find another bathroom. I was too young to remember much about it. I don't know if we had walked into the wrong bathroom or if they had like share bathrooms or something but it was weird.

As someone who's been of the men's-bathroom-goer variety, urinals are just as weird and gross when you're 'meant' to use them.
Also a fun fact, depending where you're at, sometimes there are just less toilets to make room for urinals. I remember a friend saying the local park has three stalls in the women's, but the men's has one stall and two urinals. _And the rooms are the same size._ So they legitimately just cheaped out to get two urinals instead of two _whole_ stalls.
Turns out all the jokes about women not pooping are wrong, it's the _men_ who don't poop.

One thing my therapist told me was actually that anger isn’t an emotion itself, but rather a reaction to some other emotion. So if you’re angry, you have to look underneath that reaction, and realize what emotion you’re actually feeling and why. Just thought that was interesting

Some people have too high testosterone and thats why they are muscular, and others that never move have fat around their organs in a way that makes them look muscular, when they are not.

@@derpyderp7269 that’s interesting. I was an athlete most of my life so I’ve built up a lot of strength and have maintained it after I quit playing sports. Despite not working out very much. My moms the same way in that once she gains muscle mass she can maintain it without doing much.
