Yep, which proves how ridiculous it is, because a man liking a woman is obviously not gay. A man liking feminine things does *not* mean he’s gay. He might be a feminine guy, sure, but feminine guy can be straight, bisexual, etc.
I am a bigger woman. (I am happy, but I didn't used to be.) So I was in the city once and a man called out, calling me an "Ugly whale". Another man who was sitting on a bench next to me yelled. I saw a similar comment somewhere else. Apparently it’s cuz women usually shave their armpits and men usually only shave their faces. The skin on your armpit is a lot more sensitive than the skin on your face. So really it’s not a man/woman thing it’s a where you shave thing.

I only buy clothes in the men's section because the female "large" is the male "medium" and the male "large" is actually large then I usually can find clothes my size in the men section without the overprice that comes with the "plus size" labels.
Tell me about it. I’m overweight and size 2X and sometimes 3X in women’s clothing but 1X in men’s clothing. The struggle having to find flannel shirts and hoodies is unreal😓

Long lived animals tend to be, humans in scarcely populated/harsh environments too. It's "overpopulation" that exceeds matriarchal oversight, pitches peoples against each other and turns society cut throat. Having over production, higher education and closer contact to diverse people mitigates some of that but the last 10k years were harsh (sedentary agriculture and inheritance structures be like)
people used to be matriarchal back when people lived in caves, also being overweight was attractive cuz it meant you had big boobs and tights to give birth and all. There was also always a woman in the cave and women took care of the fire, that was really important for survival and stuff.
Umm, I don’t think lions are matriarchal. There are more female lions and they sort of run the pride because the males patrol and keep the pride and their progeny safe from invaders, but they’re not more important than the males nor do they rank above them. Like the males tend to get first dibs on the hunt despite not doing anything to help, in exchange for protecting the pride. Hyenas are very matriarchal though. The highest ranking male hyena is lower than the lowest female hyena no matter what, which is a comforting thought if I ever get reborn as a hyena.

Experts have calculated this gap in a multitude of ways, but the varying calculations point to a consensus: Women consistently earn less than men, and the gap is wider for most women of color” So nice try
“Everything is unisex” YES PLEASE. I hate forced gendering. Today I was buying my school uniform with my mother, and the site made you choose between male and female. But? Like?? It’s the exact same uniform??? We all wear the same shirt and pants, my school doesn’t even have skirts so there’s not a point in doing that. I felt so dysphoric and there was no real reason for it, I hate it :)
The male and female body are proportioned mad differently, it’s a known qualm that women take issue with pants that are too wide on the waist and if they were tighter the boys wouldn’t be able to physically breathe - if everything was unisex you’d all look like potato sacks
@@anniem251 I now have the uniform and would gladly prefer to look like a potato sack than wearing this slim pants that are hard to put on and don't have pockets. Anyway, there's a reason sizes exist, so it could in fact be unisex just customize the waist-lenght ratio.
@@bluflavouredpudding you might be fine looking like a potato sack but most people aren’t and sizes are segregated by gender for a reason. If your school was to offer clothes by specific measurement ( including waist size, leg length, leg width, chest size, arm size ect) it would be over complicated. And even then men’s clothes are stitched differently- they often accentuate broad shoulders and are baggy on the leg. Things aren’t gendered because the world hates non binary people, it’s just for ease. If you’d rather wear baggy clothes, just get a boy’s uniform
"Smile, you're losing weight" is fucked up for more than one reason. One, devaluing larger women, and valuing women only based on their appearance for men. I’m a girl and used to love pink, and as I got older I started to prefer green. Thankfully for me, green is considered to be pretty gender neutral. But I don’t like that other people get bullied for the colors they like. Like... it’s a color. *A color. A FREAKING C O L O R.* I don’t understand why colors have been gendered.
my very straight cis male friend: likes wearing makeup and skirts/dresses everyone: I diagnose you with gay or trans wfjhwerfgwebfvibri let people wear what they want omfg
Thank you! This needs to addressed. Dressing/acting a certain way often has nothing to do with sexuality. Queer men can act more masculine, straight men can act more feminine, queer women can act more feminine, straight women can act more masculine. It doesn't invalidate the individual's identity in the slightest. People just are who they are. This needs to be normalized!
My social studies teacher is bald and he told the girls in my class to keep their hair long because “it would be unattractive” and I seriously just stared at him and said “Women don’t exist for the enjoyment of men” and he almost sent me to the office
Can we also talk about how women's sizes are SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than men's? I don't just mean subtle differences but like. I see women's mediums that look fit for children!
I think because men want to feel bigger than they actually are so prefer larger clothes and they wear baggier clothes in general. I suppose it’s the inverse for women- speaking VERY generally
Wemen's clothing is just weird sizing wise, like men's pants are measured waistXinseam, WHAT IS A 6, WHAT IS A 00, THESE ARENT MEASUREMENTS, WHY IS THERE ONLY ONE NUMBER

Fun fact: pink was traditionally a male color and blue way traditionally a female color. And not too long ago. In the 19th century those colors were established to those genders. So like whatever color you want. It really doesn't matter
Another fun fact relating to this: They only let boys have pink because it was the closest to red, but they didn’t want to assign them the color of blood, and blue was about a pretty flower :)
@@Charles-qx6yz not-so-fun fact: one of the theories on why the colours were swapped is because in WW2 concentration camps, pink was used to color-code gays.

8:39 the reason why society lets girls me “manly” and doesn’t let boys be “feminine” is society thinks of men as above women A woman wearing a suit is cool, professional and empowering. But a man wearing a dress is weird, unprofessional and downgrading Being “masculine” is considered good and being “feminine” is considered bad Being a man is considered good and being a woman is considered bad
This applies to names too. Parents can name their baby girls a boy name but names baby boys will NEVER have a girl name. Interestingly, once girls start getting named a boy’s name for long enough the baby boys can’t even be named that anymore! Ex: Leslie was a boys name and people started naming their baby girls Leslie, and now it’s mostly considered a girly name and a boy being named that today might be the butt of a joke. Because a girl name is bad but a boy name is good, like it’s the same concept!
In my immediate family, it really is. It started out as a joke that only my father understood fashion even though the rest of us were women. I would take him clothes shopping with me when i had to buy formal wear because he could walk down the isles and pull out things that fit me and looked good on me first try. I still call him sometimes and ask if a certain color would look good on me. But we're also a pretty chill family, so i wouldn't use it willy nilly with randos that i don't know.

Can we talk about how parrots are matriarchal
Pretty much every animal is matriarchal
Dolphins, lions, parrots, and more
*And yet here we are*
Long lived animals tend to be, humans in scarcely populated/harsh environments too. It's "overpopulation" that exceeds matriarchal oversight, pitches peoples against each other and turns society cut throat.
Having over production, higher education and closer contact to diverse people mitigates some of that but the last 10k years were harsh (sedentary agriculture and inheritance structures be like)
And the men always say "iT's nAtUrAl tHaT mEn lEaD" smh
@@solseclipse in crisis it is among more species, did we spend 10.000 years in crisis?
people used to be matriarchal back when people lived in caves, also being overweight was attractive cuz it meant you had big boobs and tights to give birth and all.

Ugghhhhhh! I felt that. When I was a kid I loved the color blue so much and I still do. I would FLIP if someone told me I can't own anything blue and that everything I own should be pink. I'd fucking FLIP.
Exactly. When I was a kid, I knew a boy who's fav color was purple and he got so much shit for it. But I liked purple too. And I go "Really? Me too!"

Frl like im a 5 in men's but like an 8 or 9 in women's. I can't compute...
I think because men want to feel bigger than they actually are so prefer larger clothes and they wear baggier clothes in general. I suppose it’s the inverse for women- speaking VERY generally
I use woman clothing (like stores meant for adults, but the ones labeled for woman), I am still a child (young), point proved.
Wemen's clothing is just weird sizing wise, like men's pants are measured waistXinseam, WHAT IS A 6, WHAT IS A 00, THESE ARENT MEASUREMENTS, WHY IS THERE ONLY ONE NUMBER
i agree! as an young amab, i wanted to wear a witch costume because 1. i can 2. i look cool as fck, but when i tried it on, the size of the dress was straight up for a 6 year old. even though the hat fit me well and the box said it was for my age group, it was so small. I know i am pretty chunky, but STILLLL
Fun fact: pink was traditionally a male color and blue way traditionally a female color. And not too long ago. In the 19th century those colors were established to those genders. So like whatever color you want. It really doesn't matter
Another fun fact relating to this:
They only let boys have pink because it was the closest to red, but they didn’t want to assign them the color of blood, and blue was about a pretty flower :)
(I only found this on a video once so I’m not sure if that’s actually true)
@@Charles-qx6yz not-so-fun fact: one of the theories on why the colours were swapped is because in WW2 concentration camps, pink was used to color-code gays.

8:39 the reason why society lets girls me “manly” and doesn’t let boys be “feminine” is society thinks of men as above women
A woman wearing a suit is cool, professional and empowering.
But a man wearing a dress is weird, unprofessional and downgrading
Being “masculine” is considered good and being “feminine” is considered bad
Being a man is considered good and being a woman is considered bad
the entire idea of gender roles is solely to increase misogyny
That's fcking sad
they meant to hurt and degrade women , but its affecting all gender identities. sad.
"That's gay" should be a compliment
In my immediate family, it really is. It started out as a joke that only my father understood fashion even though the rest of us were women. I would take him clothes shopping with me when i had to buy formal wear because he could walk down the isles and pull out things that fit me and looked good on me first try. I still call him sometimes and ask if a certain color would look good on me.
But we're also a pretty chill family, so i wouldn't use it willy nilly with randos that i don't know.

It wasn't even really in the "men's section" it was by the front and mingled with everything else. After I told my mom about it, she was like, "but it's for men?" And so a week later the dress/sweater "disappeared." She returned it. It was literally just a black and white sweater...
yooo that's fucked up. I hope you got to explain to your mum why that was not okay?
My mum grew up very strictly religious and they kinda frowned down on many things including different sexualities and genders. I remember when I was young (like 12) she even had the opinion that if one of her kids turned out gay she would consider throwing them out. So me and my sister took our time to explain things to her. So now like 10 years later our mum doesn't care anymore. She even became friends with a struggling gay guy (my age, her mum instints kicked in) at her workplace. Parents don't always know what's right or wrong because they were only taught one way and we as their children can fix and help educate them.
@@mitchsmint149 yeah I've tried to explain to her since then that some things are pointlessly gendered, and that if I like something, I should be able to buy/use it. My mom also grew up pretty religious and once told me she'd rather end her life than see me kiss another woman. That was when I told her I was questioning things a few years ago. She started ignoring me for days until I told her I was joking and probably just confused. But she didn't trust me until I got a boyfriend later on.
