Wouldn't doing this just incentivize people working to achieve the maximum level allowed then simply ceasing work at that point leaving you with nothing extra to go into public funding?

I grew up Mormon and hella conservative. I remember screaming about how trans ppl are mentally ill and we shouldn't be indulging their mental illness- now I'm trans XD. When I got a bit older, I started wondering what the big deal with climate change was bc the conservative arguments against just didn't make sense to me. I have a distinct memory of secretly googling global warming in my room, feeling like it was some sort of shameful secret. I tried to talk about it with my mom after, but she wouldn't listen. Questioning religion was even harder. I had to learn that there is no one way of life that is right for everyone, and god that was hard for me. So glad I'm queer, it's what dragged me out of all that. Thx for the video
I grew up in a very christian household. I rember aggressivly being 14 and replying to a 12yo on twitter "u r too young to know your sexuality it's probably just a trend". Little did I know I was in love with my "best friend". If it wasn't for the internet I'd have never educated myself.
I'm super proud of you! I grew up catholic, so while I did grow up religious, my parents were fairly liberal for people their age (like most Catholics, surprisingly), but I still got a lot of flack because I was even more left, and decidedly not religious. I cannot imagine how hard it would be to do that if you're Mormon, they do not mess around! Do your parents still talk to you? I've heard of so many ex-Mormons being shunned or excommunicated or disowned for being trans, or even for just leaving the church. I'm really sorry if that's a sore subject.
@@idontwantahandlethough Lucky for me, my dad left the church just before i was born and somehow my parents stayed married (not exactly happily but married nonetheless) and several of my siblings left before I did, so there was a precedent for exmos in my family. Why is healthcare considered as a luxury in America when it’s a necessity?I live in Europe ,so healthcare mostly is free and while I do acknowledge that the system here is not flawless, I’m glad that it’s at least accessible to everyone. Like how can u be so selfish and privileged enough ,to not care about the circumstances of other people?it saddens me.

My best theory for this is that perhaps she _herself_ is confused about her own views and the self-contradiction between the clips is just her figuring out where she really stands? There is absolutely no way to tell for certain from an outsider point of view, but I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she might be going along and figuring herself out and that's where all the opposing ideas are coming from? (I apologise if this was confusing.)
i think she has been completely surrounded by the same type of ppl and lacks the experience of being/being around ppl who r underprivileged so its a conflict between stuff shes deduced herself (being anti corporation, anti war) and stuff shes been ingrained w (anti feminism, anti public funding) but idk cause idk her
That's very possible, and if so, I commend her for at least thinking about it. That said, if you don't know what you believe, I'm not really sure if it's entirely ethical to be putting your views on blast on a site like youtube, ya know? If you don't completely know what you believe, that's entirely ok, and it takes strength to admit that to others (or even just to yourself!). But in that case, I think you should be asking questions rather than trying to influence others. Idk, maybe I'm wrong on this.
@@st4rz.of.perdition That's probably spot on. I had the same experience as a kid. She actually reminds me a lot of my father. My dad is a right libertarian with a lot of anti government sentiments like anti war, pro choice, prison abolition, freedom to travel, anti police etc but is still holds some conservative/capitalistic views around thinks like feminism, government funded programs, and social inequality. He’s also very pro market. Idk though because she still sounds so sarcastic but I understand how she could hold both such conservative and liberal views at once.
Same except my dad is exactly how she makes herself look. My dad tells me and my mom all the info like we are supposed to believe everything he wants us to. I used to be just like him but last year and this year was when I actually found my own views and now I’m pro choice, bi, I support blm and feminism, etc while he is pro life, hates blm and doesn’t seem to support lgbt much, which is what I grew up with my whole life. He thinks he’s right about everything and I cant get him to change his mind on anything cause he can’t handle criticism he gets super defensive
I think maybe although she is conservative, that she is poking fun at the 'extreme' views and how ridiculous some other conservatives sound. I'm pretty sure even women who believe in 'traditional' values wouldn't genuinely praise something like mansplaining...which is why i think there is definitely a level of satire to this. @@legoben98productions who is she gaslighting? I'm confused as to who this would even work on. Like.. who's the target here? Also, could you explain condensing to me? I've never heard that before!
I think she's trying to satirize leftist & liberal arguments against conservative opinions in a lot of these? But it doesn't land right because the things she's saying as if they're outlandish, ridiculous claims are *actually* beliefs of so many conservatives. So she does think most women would be happier as housewives, but she's "satirizing" the fact that leftists will try to argue from science, and trying to overexaggerate conservatives stance on these things. Maybe.

Rip up the basil, chop the cherrybois in half, drizzle that shit on top, and then salt and (COARSE!) black pepper to taste. My uncle had eleven siblings, three of them died at birth or at a very, very young age because back then his mother couldn't afford much, so whenever he hears something about "people need to pay for their own medical bills or else fuck them", he tends to become very...uh...loud xd and mind you, we live in Germany, so we have free healthcare, but it angers him that that's not the case in other places. I just showed him your video (and translated them to him since he can't speak English) and he slammed his hand on the table and screamed "YES" so loudly, my mom almost dropped the plates. When she asked him why he gets so upset about this, even tho we have free healthcare here, he said "I've seen enough of my family die to be familiar with this sort of grief, if this sort of thing happens to other families when it could have been avoided, I'll get as angry as I want!"
“Only ugly people benefit from wearing a mask” “Us pretty people we can not be wearing masks” Can I just say, pretty or not, regardless of the pandemic, everyone definitely looks hotter in a mask imo. (There’s my tiny nitpick)
I'm honestly confused as well. I don't think anyone would unironically say "women belong in the kitchen" and mansplaining is the only acceptable way for a women to learn. You’re braver than I am my brother is manipulated into my mothers conservative views and so was I and it sucks because I’m not brave enough to try and educate him :(
@@Galaxyzzz__ Yeah it's pretty hard especially with my sister who believes everything on conservative tiktok. I started by correcting the little things like telling my brother to just leave a girl alone is she says no. This might just be because my family is toxic but it also helps to encourage or not put down behavior like my brother being more in touch with his femine side at times. Just things that they may not notice and for more straightforward things you talk to them without your parents knowing.
My girlfriend and her brother are trying to do the same with their younger siblings, and I’ve heard from her that it’s a very weird and difficult process especially because their parents are preaching completely different ideologies at the exact same time And yes, Savannah and other channels have helped her with that
Whenever people talk about wanting everything to be privately owned and people paying what they need when they need it I am reminded of how there were once private firefighters who worked for profit. So they would discuss the price of their services with the owner of whatever was burning, not working to control the fire, until they got the price they wanted. Your house would be burning, people could be getting injured and dying, and the workers are essentially roasting marshmallows on your flaming house while the representative drives the price higher. Privately owned companies aren't better unless they aren't tied to profit, because while profit exists people will be greedy.
I thought mansplaining meant a man explaining something you already know to you (that maybe he doesn't know much about) in great detail, so either she's using a different definition, or you never learn anything at Mansplain Uni. But yeah, I was totally confused by this one.
She genuinely looks and sounds like she is being held captive and forced to make these. She keeps looking off to the side as if looking for confirmation that she's OK to finish. Is she OK?
This is what I was thinking! They teach certain military and special operation members how to talk in a "code" that doesn't use specific words, but instead slurs certain syllables or words and uses inflections and tones out of context. It sends a message that isn't easily apparent to the captors, especially if the captive is reading from their script. The sarcasm and satire hashtags really feel like a cry for help. Was she abandoned behind enemy lines?
18:26 i completely agree here and i'd like to add that there are families who wouldn't send their kids to school if they were given the choice (for several reasons) , imagine if they also had to pay for their children's education , they wouldn't even consider it in order to save money
Savannah: "...the bare necessities..." My Brain: Copy that, "The Bear Necessities" from The Jungle Book will now occupy all thought capacity for the forseeable future.
I- I've never heard a woman with these views?? Wtf! Like... It's usually men that are like "women belong in the kitchen" and "women don't have their own beleifs" how??? How can she degrade herself so much?????? Also- also with the health care thing. Clearly she had it well growing up. Some people don't. When I was growing up, my mom couldn't work bc of medical problems so she stayed home and helped my brother and I. My dad found whatever job he could as soon as he could. It didn't pay well and it was hardly enough for us to survive. Let alone get the medical attention we needed. Not everyone can work to even survive!!!
I think she making fun of how leftist views conservatives and pretty much. " Of course I'm free, you're the ones that make it the problem." Kind of attitude.
Oop yeah. But I think she's being sarcastic and saying this because she annoyed that leftist are arguing against those thing and think it's so obvious that "those aren't issues" and that leftist are being dramatic kind of bs.

Mansplaining is not men explaining things. Mansplaining is men explaining things women already know as if they don't know anything unless the man tells them. Also Savannah, you're killing it. Thank you for putting these out. You're really fun to watch and listen to!
Actually, now that I think about it, you simply cannot learn ANYTHING from mansplaining. That's the whole point. It's stuff you already know. She is wrong on all fronts. Mansplaining cannot educate at all.

I'm so grateful for what you said at the end of the video, about the difficulty of having different worldview than your enviroment, like close family. My dad works all day, barely paying the bills, and I take care of my brother after he gets home from school. I take 3 different medications and have to have regular appointments. I'm also attending college. How exactly am I supposed to make an income on my own and pay for all that without any support?
i think she is making fun of how leftists act or leftist attitudes and basically it’s like “hahaha look how stupid the leftist attitude sounds with conservative views” or something
Almost my entire family is conservative, and for most of my life I didn't question what they were saying but I've grown, and learned. I'm a much better person, and much less miserable too because I was able to embrace myself for who I am lol

This is not a pleasant thing to say, but IMO someone wearing that much make-up should not be calling ppl ugly while referring to themself as pretty. Which is to say, not everyone has the same idea of what 'ugly' and 'pretty' are. I'm also sure that you're not ugly, even if you don't feel pretty. I am morally impaired. I don’t have guilt or empathy. Most of my “moral” decisions are made with logic and mimicking, which means they are not “moral” in nature as they don’t use empathy nor sympathy. However, I don’t hurt other people (or I try not to as much as I can)and I am socialist leaning. I believe that paying taxes, paying a little more, so that everyone can live nicely Is a great thing! I can’t get Financial Aid and me and my dad are quite happy that we don’t need it, he is sometimes a bit hurt because I am a good student but due to my moving continents and shit I couldn’t get any scholarship and he feels like it’s kind of unfair in that regard, but I always try to think that me paying more for my university allows for those who can’t pay to pay less and I’m fine with that. I want them to have a chance to be here with me and study and become amazing scholars.
And the thing about taxes is, iirc, people could be paying roughly the same amount they do now but it would be put into different things than it is now. I think if the government just started secretly funneling money into free healthcare, no one, if anyone, would even notice (taxes-wise)
The fact that you are unable to empathize makes your decisions even more awesome. You were obviously raised well with a firm grasp of what is right and what is wrong. 👍🏾

Counter-strike from Persona 5 Strikers perfectly captures the feeling of never being tied down to a person through the lyrics and the upbeat nature. Etc.

Now my mom is the only member left in my immediate family, and while she hasn't disowned me, she's not too thrilled about me being trans and thinks that I spend too much time on the internet which is why I "think" I'm trans. It's super invalidating and not fun to be around, but luckily I'm moving out soon to go to college. And no worries, sharing my story with strangers on the internet is cathartic in some way lmao

The living representation of "hits herself in her confusion", I really don't know what else she could be defined as
My best theory for this is that perhaps she _herself_ is confused about her own views and the self-contradiction between the clips is just her figuring out where she really stands? There is absolutely no way to tell for certain from an outsider point of view, but I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she might be going along and figuring herself out and that's where all the opposing ideas are coming from? (I apologise if this was confusing.)
sometimes a hypocrite is a person in the process of changing. fingers crossed it's in the right direction
i think she has been completely surrounded by the same type of ppl and lacks the experience of being/being around ppl who r underprivileged so its a conflict between stuff shes deduced herself (being anti corporation, anti war) and stuff shes been ingrained w (anti feminism, anti public funding) but idk cause idk her
That's very possible, and if so, I commend her for at least thinking about it.
Went to private school with a bunch of rich kids who were kind of xenophobic because they never really met anyone who wasn't like them. And then I decided to say screw that noise and I went to public school. Best decision I have ever made, surprisingly.. I'm insanely grateful for that experience. It truly scares me to think how I could have turned out otherwise! I could have easily become some MAGA moron!
@@idontwantahandlethough thats such an interesting experience!! ive been poor-lower middle class my whole life so ive always been surrounded by the underprivileged, its so interesting how ur environment can affect ur thinking! im glad u were able to do that i wish more ppl had that kinda strength/openness!

"Science says you ought..." I'll stop you right there ma'am, science doesn't deal in oughts.
Thank you for saying you're proud of me for becoming liberal while still living in a conservative household. I'm in college now but that year or two of realizing what my parents had always taught me was wrong, and the many arguments with them that came from that, was rough, and I'm really glad you acknowledged that it warmed my heart. I love you do much Savanah!
Idk though because she still sounds so sarcastic but I understand how she could hold both such conservative and liberal views at once.
yes exactly, my stepdad is the same. these videos definitely seem to reflect libertarian views
My dad is the same
Same except my dad is exactly how she makes herself look.
My dad is really similar!!
Both my mom and dad are right libertarians
I think maybe although she is conservative, that she is poking fun at the 'extreme' views and how ridiculous some other conservatives sound. I'm pretty sure even women who believe in 'traditional' values wouldn't genuinely praise something like mansplaining...which is why i think there is definitely a level of satire to this. Maybe she's doing it to get views or something too, idk.
it could be satire, but its a really weird way to make satire, because she is literally working with prager u and profiting from it
I would’ve assume she’s gaslighting. TBH a lot of people on the conservative right I knew were gaslighting and condensing.
@@legoben98productions who is she gaslighting? I'm confused as to who this would even work on. Like.. who's the target here?
Also, could you explain condensing to me? I've never heard that before!
@@idontwantahandlethough I would say the viewer or the person who commented. I meant to type condescending but misspelled it, my bad.
It feels like she’s saying, “women can, but they shouldn’t.” Which I hate, but it’s the only way my brain can comprehend what I’m hearing.
Maybe.
Thank you for your most based analysis, Darth Revan
Thanks for the analysis!
Yep. This.

Yeah I thought it must be something like this. She’s trying to do satire, but it doesn’t work when she’s being ~realistically~ ridiculous

You're uncle is awesome.

My girlfriend and her brother are trying to do the same with their younger siblings, and I’ve heard from her that it’s a very weird and difficult process especially because their parents are preaching completely different ideologies at the exact same time
And yes, Savannah and other channels have helped her with that
Keep educating ur self and siblings I'm going thro the same struggle with my sister so just keep doing it will get better
“Mansplain university “ this part made me confused I as well have no idea if she is joking or not
Same here, the whole second video confused me like crazy
Especially when considering some religions believe that only information coming from a man is valid.
I thought mansplaining meant a man explaining something you already know to you (that maybe he doesn't know much about) in great detail, so either she's using a different definition, or you never learn anything at Mansplain Uni. But yeah, I was totally confused by this one.
That was all over the place, like my brain is smoking from this lady
She genuinely looks and sounds like she is being held captive and forced to make these. She keeps looking off to the side as if looking for confirmation that she's OK to finish. Is she OK?
This is what I was thinking! They teach certain military and special operation members how to talk in a "code" that doesn't use specific words, but instead slurs certain syllables or words and uses inflections and tones out of context. It sends a message that isn't easily apparent to the captors, especially if the captive is reading from their script. The sarcasm and satire hashtags really feel like a cry for help. Was she abandoned behind enemy lines?
Whatever the case, she's _definitely_ not okay.
Yeah that's what I was thinking honestly.
18:26 i completely agree here and i'd like to add that there are families who wouldn't send their kids to school if they were given the choice (for several reasons) , imagine if they also had to pay for their children's education , they wouldn't even consider it in order to save money
It's like she started doing this as a bit and then realized she could capitalize off of it lmao.

Savannah: "...the bare necessities..."

My dad found whatever job he could as soon as he could. hey, i feel the same. wearing a mask actually makes me feel great because some of my teeth are placed... weirdly in my mouth. but let me tell something I've been learning about self image and self love: watch the tone you speak about yourself and with yourself. don't be harsh with yourself because people everywhere already do, so if you have something to say about your appearance, say it softly, say it with care, not with hatred. it's okay to not like something about you, just make sure you don't hate yourself for it.

Yes! I'm getting the libertarian vibe as well. The idea that government taking money from people is theft sounds pretty libertarian to me
I have a headache now
I am morally impaired.

I didn't know my dad was homophobic until I realized I was gay (quickly rushed back into that closet, lol) didn't know my dad voted for Trump in 2016 until I already decided Hilary was better. None of my classmates said anything political until 2020 when they were all talking about Trump. At that point I was already far left. Luckily my family is more verging on centrist so I wasn't indoctrinated horribly. Honestly, I hate going to school, knowing that 98% of the people around me are Trumpies, brainwashed by their conservative parents. It's sad to see.
girlie is realllll committed to the bit
I have weird feelings about this. Its like she was written as a South Park character, and thats obvious satire.
But it's stuff coming out of a real human mouth and not a shitty foil cartoon character.
I don't have a favourite song, but my favourite types of songs and music are anime and video game soundtracks because they perfectly capture the environments and events they are made for.
Examples: Gormott plains and Gaur Plain perfectly captures a big, open field with multiple small areas and a ton of small beasts (with massive monkey nearby). Counter-strike from Persona 5 Strikers perfectly captures the feeling of never being tied down to a person through the lyrics and the upbeat nature. Etc.
I really appreciated you talking about how hard it can be to grow up in a conservative family, and how it's ok to make mistakes especially when you're young! It's a message we should be hearing more often, I think. I grew up in a pretty conservative family and it took me an unfortunately long time to figure out that I don't hold those values myself.
I'm sorry you got a headache from watching that person's videos, but I totally understand why! Thank you for doing what you do Savannah, you're awesome!! ❤️❤️❤️
i got excited when she reached over at her desk thought she was gonna mention the skzoo plushies
I’m ordering a plush today, I’m so excited to have a mini rainbow kiwi!
As someone who has been disabled for a few years now and has not been able to work, her view on Medicaid was so painful to hear. I WANT to work. I'm literally looking for a job where I can work like 2 4-hour shifts a week because that's all I can do, but I missed working. I often have up to 5 Dr. Appointments a week, and I wouldn't be able to afford them if I didn't have free healthcare. I wouldn't be able to start working 2 days if I hadn't gotten the free healthcare I did.
Through my personal experience with conservative right is that they often gaslight and be condescending, so honestly I would’ve guess that she’s kind of gaslighting or reverse gaslighting (is that a thing?) when she gets on and talks about her non conservative views but claims she is and works for PragerU.
Yeah, I honestly think she's views leftist as dramatic and it wouldn't be this way if the left didn't try to fight against very outdated methods of running a world.
@@Specters0rd I’m not sure if that would be the case, especially when someone on like pragerU and Fox News would make bs conspiracy theories, lie, or even outrageous claims about what’s going on in the world.
@@legoben98productions Oop I meant that's how she thinks.
She probably thinks it's the leftist are the ones making it an issue.
@@Specters0rd ahh. My apologies for misreading your comment.
@@legoben98productions No, it's fine! I wasn't clear enough.

Hello! My name is thyme and I use ze/zir and they/them pronouns.
As of late Ive really been into the Orion experience, will wood and the tapeworms, and whatever weird hyperpop music I can find.
I am dysgraphic which basically means that my brain decided to frick me over when it comes to writing and spelling, I can't spell for the life of me and my handwriting is atrocious. Whenever I go to write something, whatever I was going to write leaves my head and never comes back. If I'm doing something digitally then I'll just use speech to text like I am now ✌️
Your name is really cool. How do you use ze/zir pronouns in a sentence? I’m Halley, she/they.
Damn I'm sorry you cant spell, I have dyslexia but I also might have autism adhd or OCD I really can tell and I want so badly to get diagnosed so I'll be able to know what's up with that, also sorry I forgot to say it at the start my name is freddie/saturn and I use they/them/it/its
@@peacefulleopard8016 I use it/its but with ze/zir it's like, of ze are over there, I went with zir to the shop yesterday (sorry if this made no sense!!!!!!!!)
@@peacefulleopard8016 thank you! I chose it myself lol
Anyways the example that I normally give to people is:
That's zir phone, ze left for a moment but will be right back. That notebook is zirs aswell.
@@thymebutter2556 thank you! that helped.
