  • Absolutely gorgeous is the new Crochet Lacy Shawl from Yarnspirations. It just screams WOW from the minute you see the photo to the time you are crocheting your way through it.
The pattern has the rows 1 - 12 on the diagram, and once you really understand how this is being made, you can understand how to grow it. There are only 36 rows. So the first 1-12, essentially 1/3 is in diagram format with you.
The tutorial below slowly takes you through 1 - 12 and I have done my best to break up the steps so you can see how things connect together, meaning, how the pattern is strategic in growth.
    Get the free pattern at thecrochetcrowd.com/crochet-la... #crochet #learntocrochet #crochettutorial .
This video is closed-captioned for the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities. The captioning is also available in multiple languages such as Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese. The written pattern is only available in English. . *** .

Not sure which link you're clicking on, but, I was directed to the Yarnspirations website and was able to get the pattern for free. If you don't feel comfortable clicking on the links in the description box, you can go to Yarnspirations.com and search the crochet patterns for "Lacy Crochet Shawl". Good luck to you.

You're currently starting row three and I wish it wasn't 3am, so I can get some yarn out and do this with you. You're very inspirational x

I got stuck on row 13 (and 15). This tutorial really helped because of the drawn arrows and the mention of the bulges. A short description of row 13: 3, 3, cluster 5 (first single arrow on the pattern in the tut), 9, cluster 5 TWICE (first double arrows on the pattern in the tut and the first bulge), 9, cluster 5 TWICE (second double arrows on the pattern in the tut and the second bulge), 9, cluster 5 (second single arrow on the pattern in the tut), 3, 2 and 2 and 2 and on you go. And also: look close and see that row 12 is NOT the same as the other even rows/row 2. Good luck with this shawl because it really is a fun and beautiful project to crochet. :-)

Row 2- 26 stitches on each side including the 2 dts in the center
Row 4- 34 on each side
    Row 6- 42
    Row 8- 50
    Row 10- 58
    Row 12- 64
    Row 14- 72
    Row 16- 80
    Row 18- 88
    Row 20- 96
    Row 22- 102
    Row 24- 110
    Row 26- 118
    Row 28- 126
    Row 30- 134

I thought it was just me! I've Frogged back so many times and can't figure out where I'm going wrong. I'm good up to row 22 and since I don't normally work with charts, wondered if something was missing from the written instructions. It appears to be the section where the instructions between [ ] goes from 3X to 4X, starting with row 23. Have I done something wrong in row 21 which essentially sets the foundation for row 23. After completing the 4 repeats, the pattern says to 1dtr in next 3 sts. I have way too many sts left over between that and the 'center' section. HELP :(

I can't find my last comment to post again. I was very new to crochet when I tried this and if you can imagine the starting row of half doubles joined together all the way up the middle except for the end 7 trebles... yeah that's what I made and I did 6 rows that way! It looked NSFW! I'm wiser now in the ways of crochet so let's go!

I must admit that I do not read patterns well at all, however, the waves seem to only have 6 panels no matter how long the shawl gets. The increases are done on the front and center panels only. Your wave rendition looks marvelous, that is what got my attention, looking at the diagram is where the 6 panel theory starts.

Refer to diagram to check line up of stitches from previous rows. After row 7 the 5 stitch blocks should follow through from the previous ones.

I love the pattern, have not finished viewing the tutorial yet, but I am finding errata in the written pattern. The first time I printed it (within the last month), it said it needed 3 balls of the yarn. Two days ago I printed it again and now it says 4 balls of yarn. I am up to row 13 and I am finding there are extra stitches, causing the count to be off. And of course the diagram stops at row 12.

Has anyone had problems with row 15. I don’t understand why I can’t make it work. Can’t fit all the stitches it calls for. If any has suggestions or solutions I would really appreciate the help. Beautiful shawl and would love to finish it.

Hello Mickey!, This is beautiful! I saw another written pattern called the Heirloom Shawl on Yarnspirations, and I would love to make it. Is there a tutorial for it? I apologize if this is not the proper channel to ask about this. Thank You so much! 😊

I'm unsure which one that may be. I looked it up on Yarnspirations but there are several but the ones I am seeing are knit. You can try to contact me through my website as the contact is in the top menu. If you can give me a link through email, that would be handy. You cannot post a link on this thread.

Sorry if this is a silly question but is there a way to turn it into a square. I’m wanting to make a chuppah for my wedding and I absolutely love the stitch design! Love your videos and your channel♥️

Not silly at all. This is very similar to feather and fan stitch. Jaydainstitches on RUclips has a video for the "autumn moon wrap" that may be what you're looking for.

You could create 2 and crochet them together. But then you need to square them off.

Nice pattern, stitch counts for rows would be good.

Thank you very much for this amazing tutorial and pattern. I am already working on this shawl and have a question regarding row 18. How many stiches I should have in row 18? Reason for asking is that I am missing one stich in row 19 and could not figure out how. Please help. Thanks again...

Medhija Busatlic I was also one stitch short on row 19 (I had 88 stitches on one side & 87 on the other). I just added a stitch at the end. Have you gotten to row 23 yet? It says to repeat in the brackets 4 times but that doesn't work. I'm sure it should be 5. I wish they would've continued the stitch chart beyond row 12.

I have reached Row 23 - about 4 times now - and am running into an issue with stitch count. After doing the [4] repeats, I have far too many stitches left in the row (before reaching the center) and the pattern only calls for 3 dtr. We are not alone and I'm hoping for an answer soon or I may have to 'wing it'. lol

ruthrich The pattern is incorrect. It should be 5 repeats, not 4. Then when you get to the repeat of row 23 & 24, it should be rep in [ ] 7 times, not 5.

Thanks, Kathy - that does make more sense. I had pretty much decided to proceed that way anyway :) especially after printing out the pattern picture of the shawl laying flat. I see the pattern in Yarnspirations now shows 4 balls (not 3) of yarn is required and the blurb at the end about joining the foundation row has been elimination. I am a huge fan of Yarnspirations, Mikey Sellick and The Crochet Crowd so no big critique here. Stuff happens, but ..... :)

Hi Kathy, not sure if you are still following or not, but..... I did contact Yarnspirations and pointed out 'our' conclusions. They finally came back to me and said that yes, there was an error. It was in Row 11 and then proceeded to provided me with the corrected Row 11. The only difference was the addition of 1 dtr! I couldn't believe it. There was no indication whatsoever about the repeats in rows 23 and 24. I did finish the shawl based on our assumptions and as I'm finishing up this comment, had another look at their 'revised' pattern and sure enough, Rows 23 dn24 have the corrected repeats - 5 and 7 respectively yet no mention at all of this in their email response to me, only the one dtr in row 11!
