I am 72hundred years old. I "discovered" your tutorials with Kaleidoscope Granny. I made it so hard because of my hundreds of years of crochet experience. My granny squares were made different than yours. (no stitch between clusters, only ch 2 between corner clusters) Once I stopped, had a few words with "self", I started from scratch and followed your directions, Amazing! This old dog can learn a few new tricks! Your "chatter" is very soothing; your directions are "simply" divine. THANK YOU!

I'm a beginner at crochet, but watching your channel has made learning so easy for me. You are so patient and your voice is very soothing. I appreciate how you explain everything to us and how you go over every step. I've done your narrow crochet skull scarf, the Lost Souls shawl, and now I'm trying this one. My next will be the dragon scales and I'm so excited! Thank you for being such a great teacher!

I am super new to crochet and yours are my favorite tutorials so far (I've watched A LOT). Thank you for working real time without fast forwarding. I picked up a skein of red heart Liquid Teal yesterday and I think this will be the PERFECT pattern for it. As soon as I finish my first all double crochet shawl project I'll be ready to move on to something a bit more complicated like this! Thanks for your work!

I think this is by far the prettiest pattern I have tried to date… I have only been crocheting a year and I find you so fun and love love love your happy voice. It makes my heart smile. I have finished one shawl and am now on my second one using Red Heart It’s a wrap Sprinkles which is a #2 with a #5 hook and it is so silky and very pretty. Thank you so much ❤ I know I will make many more of these for gifts

Thanks for your patterns and videos. I have them on a playlist so that I can refer back to them. I am a long time crocheter as was my mom, aunts and grandma. You learn from the best in my book. They would have loved that you share your talent and love of the craft. I am starting to crochet shawls fore patients going through chemo or their care givers. My husband was going through that last year and while he did so well ( and still is) so many were not. he was given a neck rest and a small blanket made and donated by a local church. We appreciated both, so it got me to thinking that I can do something too. A small note will go with each one. I hope that they bring a spot of color and comfort into an otherwise dark time. Keep creating and sharing!

Love all your videos! Made this shawl with 3 skeins of Caron cakes blueberry shortcake, it is beautiful. I was curious about the front post option so I made one with a 3 weight yarn using front post……it is a completely different look, not so much lapping waves, more like ridges. I much prefer the back post, and for me it’s not really any more difficult than the front post. ❤ Thank you for all of your wonderful videos! 🥰

At first glance I thought this was the crocodile stitch, which I have done…but I put this on to just listen to you which I’m doing you virus v granny stitch shawl, in case you had any hints and tips! I put the shawl I’m doing down and with some scrap yarn did a sample of this with using the front post and I’m loving it (I find the front post easier) I do have a number of your shawls saved in a separate list…so I don’t loss them…and will definitely be doing it next. Thank you for all your help and for your companionship whilst I am crocheting 🧶 😊

This is another beauty! Love it. Going to make it in Mary Maxim Prism yarn in variegated blues for a light weight summer shawl. I can already see it in my minds eye with the undulating blues in the lovely waves. I enjoyed the virus shawl so much I have made 4 and gave them as Xmas gifts. Also made with self striping yarns in 2 cakes of Mandela Baby in the darker shades. They turned out spectacularly. Thank you for both tutorials Mr. Spider.

Seaside Mom good idea. I have some blue slowly graduating Red Heart yarn that I’ve use for a shawl in the recent past. I find that it feels more like a 3 than a 4, but it’s thinner for sure. I’ve gotten yard for Mary Maxim and have been happy with it that was via Walmart.com. I always learn stuff from other people‘s comments. Thanks and best wishes to you. 💙

I'm crocheting along with this tutorial, (and ready to rewind for a recap.) I'm doing mine in Lionbrand cupcake, for the color change--should be amazing. I'm not doing it as a shawl, but to hang as a valance over my bathroom window. A narrow rod should slip through the loops on the wide end. I already did a valance using your virus instructions. I did three and joined them for three Vs. Thank you for this great video and the clear instructions.

This is another go-to pattern for me. It’s absolutely gorgeous. I just finished one in a lightweight alpaca color gradient yarn and it’s a real showstopper. I’m working on several more, one in some saved skeins of Unforgettables yarn in a blue green combo, one in glitter thread dk combo, and another in a sport weight cotton self striping yarn. It looks good in all of them. You are correct that it’s fiddly but the results are so worth it! Love your shawl patterns so much!

    Hi my favorite crochet tutor!!❤️
This one, oh my lands!!! Whew! For some reason I couldn’t seem to get ending rows and beginning rows lined up correctly in my brain. I kept trying to do it ass-backwards! UGH! I finally just wrote it down and now if I get confused, I can refer to my notes. I suppose I didn’t help matters by tripling the cotton blend yarn I decided to use.🙄(my eyes could not roll any further back)
I will definitely send you a pic when I am done with it. I love, love, love this stitch and I’m so excited that I learned it!

Love this pattern and you of course. I'm using Mandala sparkle and the color is Aquarius. I'm using the J hook as you suggested and it's working up beautifully. It reminds me of when I was a kid and I got to see the beach for the first time. Thanks for such awesome videos that I can follow very easy. Keep crocheting!😍

Thank you. Making two then seeing our stitching them to make a poncho for my mom. I'm hoping she'll love it as much as I do.

This reminds me of the Virus Shawl but the texture makes it so much more interesting. Love your videos.

I've been wanting to make this stitch for some time and tonight was the night with Mandala Baby cake 3 weight yarn in Echo Caves. Well....it's gorgeous! You are amazing and love that you work rounds along with us and don't race through the tutorial. The baby cakes have almost 600 yards each so they also go a long way. I appreciate your point that this is a yarn eater and purchased plenty so I can make this as generous as I want! Thank you!
