Driving also a 2011 3.0 D-Max LS (double cab) with 260ks on. Runs like a Rolex, loving it.
Very good choice for a budget overlander, good quality for a fair price.
In my I have put 4+1 (300kg plus) suspension and it is totally natural that it needs after that some load on. Empty not nice to drive but loaded a dream.
The only one that can handle both is an air suspension but much to expensive and risky in reliability.
Great how all help together you are a very nice couple of people thank you for taking us with you just enjoying 🌍👍

Unfortunately, the great idea of a budget build series has gone completely off the rails a while ago already. Still love the video don't get me wrong, thanks for sharing.
Hahah yup, by the second engine rebuild the budget got tanked; we had all these other plans but ended up needing to lean on some support from sponsors, to get the vehicle across the line and usable again. I’m very grateful for their support though. The whole vehicle bought kitted and built is still cheaper than buying my Hilux only or a Jimny only so that’s still great even if you took all the parts at full retail price 👍🏻
It's beautiful to have wonderful family/friends to have helped so much without asking anything in return. Then it's even more wonderful when those helped friends are grateful, and do things like this (ie. suspension upgrade) as appreciation.. Congratulations Andy. Overlanding is starting to take off here in the Eastern Cape, specifically the Wild Coast & Northern Drakensberg. As a tour operator i am going to have to make the decision to either kit out my trusty 2015 Toyota Hilux 3.0D4D X-tra Cab 4x4 with approximately 215000km, or look at spending 200k to 300k extra and trade in on a 2nd hand 2.8GD6. In your opinion is it worth selling and then still having to kit the GD6 out.. or just kit out the trusty 3.0D4D which i am a huge fan of.

What was the height before and After ?
The height ended up about the same because the we had put some extended shackles in the rear before which raised the rear by 2inches and then the front came up slightly with the new torsion bars but the old torsion bars were pushed up to the max anyways; but she has a really nice confident stance now 👌🏻
Spoil him with some new black takkies for the zuzu! Then the bakkie will look real mean.

Like I said on a previous comment; the budget got mainly ruined by mechanical work that had to get redone; but otherwise we were going to be at around R250,000.00 but now ended up at around R300,000.00 which is still cheaper than either buying a stock Jimny or a used rental Hilux like mine. We sort of failed the budget challenge; but we have a great truck for Andy now and I’m not upset about that 👍🏻
