Its good to see Andy and his rig out and about, and with him (Andy) sporting a huge smile on his face. It goes to show you don't need to have the latest and greatest rig and gear to start having fun off-road. Just be sensible and you can venture out on the road less travelled on a budget.
So nice to see normal (unmodified) 4x4 trucks. Mostly we see hugely modified Hilux or Land cruiser's with everything (except the chicken hok) bolted on to the roof. Well done.
It's refreshing to see through Andy's eyes the excitement of someone new to 4WD overlanding. It brings back memories of my own experience nearly 20 year ago, as a 19yr old when I packed my 1st 4WD (NL Pajero), and went on my 1st 4WD overland trip with two mates, and covered nearly 4k kms in two weeks. An overland trip to this day that all 3 of us still think back with fond memories. I spent all my money buying the Pajero, which left me little money for mods. Just enough to afford a set of BFG ATs, a roof rack & a pair of IPF driving lights from ARB. Other than that, the Pajero was stock standard. I've since been in countless 4WD overland trips that were longer, more challenging, better and more exciting. But nothing beats the feeling of the first real 4WD overland trip.
Absolutely 👌🏻 I left on my first trip on my own for a few days through Lesotho, crossing mountain passes and river beds, camping in the middle of open grassy valleys. All on my own 🤣
How do I double like videos!!! Love love this! Its got so much of everything overlanding related. Tankwa is one of the most magical places to experience. Thanks for sharing it again. It really is amazing. And so different from most other things. It's why people keep going back.
Just replaced my cab rubbers (between body and chassis), engine mountings and gearbox mounting on my Isuzu Frontier. Now i can feel how shot my suspension is, thought my ride was going to be better 🙁 Awesome on sorting out Andy 🤙👍
In my opinion i would love toe see Nicki get a buget build because i can see he loves what he is doing and just imagine a budget build for him i think it could be a great oppertunity for him btw love the videos❤
there is so much I loved about this episode... "Friends" they make the journey even more enjoyable... loved the music too it all fits nicely... thanks for posting and sharing man. I doubt I will ever get the chance to visit Africa but you make me feel like i am there. thanks again.
Yes finally! If nothing was sponsored and an average joe had bought the exact same vehicle and paid for all the upgrades/labour/accessories. What would you estimate the total cost to be including the bakkie? Would you consider it budget still?
@smuggler1807 I'm not bothered with certain things being sponsored or a workshop helping for free but it would be great to get the monetary value for those things and add it up with the other costs to get a real picture. Great episode...
So this build crooked Andy a bit on the maintenance side, so we lost alot of the budget there; but our initial budget of 250 included all the things you see on the truck; but the reality is it comes closer to 300.. But then you look at the Tata, and over this trip it’s going to really surprise you how great it does at a fraction of the price of even the Isuzu 😋
@RoamOverlanding Thanks Adrian, appreciate the reply. Yes the Tata money was very very surprising, so little. Same price as my Bushtec with some accessories.
So nice to see Nicky & Andrew there with you guys. They are a special breed of nice people. Looking forward to the next show🤙. Oh and check you later this week at TT for the meet and greet with ASPW & Paul Marsh 👍
this is like a bucket list item for me guys smh ! how I wish I could have made this meet am out here .. in kenya 🇰🇪 hopefully one day God willing I will get to meet all these great men .. you guys inspire me greatly .. cheers 🍻
Hi Adrian, I've just found your channel and I've literally binge watched almost all your videos. They're so good, and you're super inspirational! Thank you!! Now all I need to do is get myself a 4x4 somehow! :)
Hi Guys Thanks once again for great videos! I couldn’t help noticing a greater looking fan in Andie’s vehicle. I have been looking for something for our setup which doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Would you mind sharing details on your fan, and is it 12v?
We run extra filters and diesel additives; the additive we use is the Flash Lube Diesel conditioner, it reduces CO2 emmissions and assists in water separation through our 30micron filters. I even get better fuel consumption out of the truck
Yay major step up for short shorts uncle Andy!

I'm definitely one of the people that used to say "oh poor Andy" 😅
The Isuzu looks great
Cool drive! Good luck with the Tata, a real budget 4x4.

Yes finally!

Again... sponsorship does not align with "budget build" although I am chuffed for Andy.

Really glad you’ve been enjoying it! Welcome to the ROAM community! 👏🏻

Our pleasure! I’ll ask him! I think he got it off takealot
Andy needs to get in front of the camera way more often.
I agree! But he is very camera shy 😂
How many cameras are you using my brother
Just one
R300k is not for everyone
Hi there see you are all running diesel aditives to your tanks .please do some research on this .not a good idea. Rather run an extra filter
We run extra filters and diesel additives; the additive we use is the Flash Lube Diesel conditioner, it reduces CO2 emmissions and assists in water separation through our 30micron filters. I even get better fuel consumption out of the truck
@@RoamOverlanding thank you for that what is the cost of the flash lube who sells it
It’s sold by Terrain Tamer 👌🏻
@@RoamOverlanding thank you
thought I accidentally played Beastie Boys` video..
