Regarding the concern at timestamp 1:10 - 1:32: The issue is happening because the developers of certain apps have not yet implemented responsiveness for split screen. Currently, the app has a default size, so it cannot be resized beyond that. The likely solution would be to make the side tray smaller, which would make the main section larger and allow the video to adjust to its preferred size.

Notice how when you tile a window on Windows, the animation is buggy, and it has to recalculate/redraw the content with the new size. On MacOS Sequoia, it just resizes without any glitches in the application's content. I absolutely love that. However, the imperfect sizing of certain applications remains a dealbreaker.

My guess as to how apple added the window tiling feature even when microsoft owns the patent is that there's a slight difference in functionality. On mac, when you snap a window it doesn't fill to the edge of the screen, giving a slight gap unlike windows. I find this incredibly annoying and I can't think of another reason they would have opted for this instead of snapping fully to the edge. (I didn't read the patent details so I could be totally off)

THIS IS A RANT. There are many things I love about macOS BUT the first bad thing I noticed when I started using macOS from Windows was that the built in Apps are literally TRASH! It's had to explain to someone whose not faced this before. The notes app just stops responding, the music app just plays the first 10 seconds of a song then stops, I don't know if it's just an M1 thing. Some third party apps glitchy with apps like Zoom leaving the orange dot close to the left of the notch (the wrong side) even when the app is closed. Many times when the lid is closed with a video paused or still playing in VLC, there is a weird unbearable sound that's played by the speakers when the lid is later opened (something like "zzzzzzzzz"). I Also hate the calculator App it's so small and can't be sized, Just look at the calculator in windows (it's way better).

And I’ve never had any of these issues. macOS before m1 was trash and I still used it, mainly because windows actually ran better on a Mac so I used my Mac for windows before m1 came out. Anyways never had the issues you mentioned. M1 and onwards has really been a game changer. I do have a coworker who just got an m3 MacBook Air and that thing was beach balling all the time… so I do think some MacBooks definitely have some issues but that’s probably due to bad quality control for some reason because generally the performance is wildly insane!

It is a beta 1 with three months of testing and bug fixes. Beta 1’s are notorious for things not working right. I’d be more concerned if this were early September and things still aren’t working right.

I don't see a correct improvement in Windows management. It's really the most painful part of Mac OS. I am not sure why apple does not take it seriously and why we need 1 year cycle to see what is next for such important component of Mac OS usage

I really hoped they do "Apple Magic tilling", not done anywhere.
Something like GNOME Mosaic tilling they are working on. (Linux DE are often considered less advanced but in reallity they have a lot to be inspired from)

That's funny, window tiling has existed in Linux and ChromeOS and they're really good. Or, more accurately, MacOS tiling has sucked (e.g. the one where you can option-key press the green button to get the left or right options)
