Rebel herself was a lawyer i'm pretty sure she's smart enough to know what constitutes defamation, slander or libel. If she says it's vetted, she's probably got the receipts.

Definitely a common thought people have! Celebrity books can feel more like brand extensions than genuine literary efforts. But I do think there are exceptions where celebs share really insightful or impactful stories. E.g. I'm glad my mum died by Jennette McCurdy was eye opening & brought forward an important topic to discuss about child stars and abuse.
