How is it that everything is a problem

It feels like 80% of new books are cheesy romance novels. Some aren’t really distinguishable. It’s sad because I grew up reading and love novels. Thanks to the changing trends I turned to classics, history and more „mature“ books aimed at older readers. Fortunately here in Germany there is a quite active literature culture completely independent from the trends.

This is what turned me off of writing for money. You basically no matter how you get published are depending on marketing yourself and if you don’t Go Viral, you can forget it. Which means that you can’t keep a day job and break even on the costs of writing and editing and so on. You have to take a second job marketing yourself and your books on top of writing every day and writing 2000 words at that. It’s no longer art, it’s a small business, and I tell people that all the time - don’t bother writing a book unless you’re ready and willing to work 70 hours a week on being successful and being a celebrity pushing social media, don’t start. It’s not a hobby, it a business, and you better be able to do it yourself or you’ll go broke trying.

No finally writers get easy marketing and actually sales for their books. Unlike actual shit you don't need. Don't hate. Creatives already have it hard as is. Be happy for someone else for once. 😅

So glad, someonse said it! Also the pressure for an author to publish one book a year is just bullshit, I would rather wait two years and get good quality than have one book a year (yes, there are exceptions like George R. R. Martin, but my point still stands)

First one in the comment section for once (love having Aussie RUclipsrs I can watch and upload in the same time-zone as me). And this video is so true. Every book I have read that has recently come out has sounded exactly the same. No story. Just $mut. Nothing changes! Good books take TIME AND CARE to write.. but with authors being told they need to publish a book by a set date, the quality of these books have reduced immensely. $mut is easy to write, and when you have page number quotas to meet.. the fastest way to meet that requirement, is writing long, detailed $mutty scenes, and pay little attention to creating an actual story. But that just gives you a bad, boring book. BookTok doesn't help either. I've seen shorts on RUclips (reposts of BookTok videos) which give over-the-top book reviews which really exaggerate how good a book is, and shorts that are supposed to help give writers inspiration for their stories. This just results in authors thinking they don't need to put much effort into their works because these reviews hype up their work so much, and fail to point out the issues with it. And authors use these writing inspo videos to understand what their audience wants as well, which doesn't leave room for originality because writer has taken someone else's idea, and used it as their own. Take a look at Sarah J. Maas' _Throne Of Glass_ for example, she wrote that using her own ideas and didn't let anything or anyone else influence her writing. The series was AMAZING!!!!! And very unique as well. I'd never read anything like it! But then ACOTAR and CC came along, and they are exactly the same: $mut with very little actual plot. Because that is what BookTok says is what readers want. It's not. It's just what people who have nothing better to do besides post on BookTok want. Anyway, that's my rant. Thank you for reading (if you actually read the whole thing.. I wouldn't blame you if you didn't though lol). And thanks for the video! Please make more like this, and on other BOOKS!!!! Not _Bridgerton_ lol.. I want the book stuff hehe.

Due To The Fact The Entire Message Of This Book Is Propaganda And Control, I Feel Like It Will Be A Career And Game Maker-Centric POV. The Many (The 48 Tributes) Are Controlled By The Few (The Game Makers) I Have A Hunch That The Gams Maker Will Be Plutarch And We'll See Why He Becomes The Person We See In Mockingjay. He Probably Becomes The D12 Mentor Probably Appointed By Snow, And He Starts To Get Along With The D12 Tributes He Starts To Be Empathetic For The Tributes And Slowly Starts To See The System As Wrong, We Will Probably See Other POVS Katniss' Mom, Katniss' Dad ETC. But I Feel Like The Career Female And The Game Maker Will Be The Main Point Of The Whole Book.

I am almost sure the book will be from Plutarch's POV while he is a Gamemaker. I don't think he will be the head gamemaker

Honestly I Suzanne wants to write another book after this I think it shouldn't just be about Finnick but District 4 itself that tells us about career pov and tells the story of Maggs,Finnick and Annie all together.

I honestly think it’s ok to bookbind fan fictions, especially if they are very long and high quality, for example All the Young Dudes by MsKingBean89 and the James Potter Series by G Norman Lippert. I’d bloody love to have physical copies of those. Of course credit should be given to the authors and permission sought though.

It’s utterly idiotic. It’s a very dark story written in a very mature fashion. Like the final 2 books are extremely violent, describing full on warfare, and even JK Rowling herself intended for each book to be read by people the same age as Harry in that book. To say it’s just a kids story is utterly ludicrous and I’m honestly quite surprised I was even allowed to read the last 2 books before I was out of primary school.

I will buy it because I like the Character of Heymitch and I watched the all movies I love The Panham Universe but I have never read that saga, That book could be the first and I will to play him but it's just a Dream 🤣🤣

maybe everything that happened in the arena was a lie and Haymitch was never supposed to win the game. who knows

Fascinating. I see this differently. I loved the pacing and finish. Didn’t coast for me. Just didn’t speedrun into a crazy finish. Lovely book overall.

I'm intrigued on the word "sunrise" usually that's a little more of a positive take. So it makes me wonder if it's going to be through the pov of someone who has more positive feelings towards the game. If not, the sunrise could simply be in reference to this particular hunger games as a "new beginning". Either way I guess we'll have to see.

Hoping this is better than the crappy Netflix version and actually stands up to the original films ❤

My personal theory is that it might actually be from a career’s perspective and/or their family.

Tigris and Maggs both play a major role in this book. Tigris will be Haymitch’s stylist, and the things she does to encourage Haymitch is the final nail in her relationship with Snow. I feel that it’s not an accident that Haymitch speaks so kindly of Maggs in Catching Fire. She made a profound impact on him, perhaps as a surrogate mentor because 12 doesn’t technically have an available winner? There will be many Easter eggs as it pertains to Katniss’ mom and dad.

I think if it’s not a split pov it might be a game maker that thinks the games are wrongs pov

I personally think that we are not getting Haymitchs POV because we know almost everything from his games already and especially since Collins said where she got her inspiration from I think Haymitch won't be the main focus. My theory is that it will either be Mace Lee Donna's sister, because she is Matchs mother and also a friend of Katnisses mother. So we would get a lot of backstory. Or (my ideal theory) it will be from Plutarchs perspective. First of all it would be really interesting to see his change from rich, capitol boy (and I mean he was one of the old names of the capitol as we know thanks to Songbirds and Snakes) to one of the main forces of the revolution. It would also fit within the whole "propaganda and how the few control the many" stuff that Collins mentioned. And we would maybe get to know more about district 13 and how he got in contact to them. I do think that Haymitch will also be important but maybe in the sense of like, he changed Plutarchs view of the games or something like that. Either way, I am really excited to see what Collins will write. 😊 Also sry if my English isn't the best, its not my first language!
