i dont agree with your take on nick being flat, i feel like from reading the book, he was able to bring hayes to live perfectly with the material he was given. The harry styles comparisons from other reviews feel very forced to me. The book is a dead give away that its supposed to be harry, but the movie seems like it was steering away from this premise which makes nick stand out more to me cause its not a flat out imitation like the other fanfic movies were trying to do . but idk also i thought the chicken finger scene was cute ngl😭😭😭😭 . Id go as far to say that this was way better than anyone but you

I'll be interested in reading the book and comparing! Fair enough about the chicken finger scene. I just found it too cringe for me lel I feel Anyone But You was traditional romantic comedy, but The Idea of You seems to not know what it wants to be, rom com or romance/drama.

I don't agree with your review of the review. The actor just seems to be jumping around not knowing who he is

For two characters who talk about injustice in the world, to then cutify chicken wing - aka product of extreme abuse of a living being - is not very consistent. The chicken wing thing was just another example how books and movies who think they address unfairness existing in the world always overlook the most massive and insane injustice - that against farm animals

I'm so glad you liked it!! Movies are subjective at the end of the day :-)

Interesting review. This movie struck me because I was once with a neighbor she was 7 years older than me with a daughter so I can relate, it started hot we loved each other but it ended badly. Here I didn't feel any chemistry between the two. I think they overdid the press. It was fun movie but not plausible.

For sure and I feel the movie played it safe by having them reunite in the end. But a lot of people enjoyed it and did find it fun.

I loved the movie, I had to watch it a couple of times to get all the little things that one may miss in the first viewing,,,, The book is a bit pornographic for my taste and Hayes was only 20. I loved the movie, Nick did his own singing and I thought did a great job, So I disagree with you completely. I will say I hated the outfit he wore when he first came to the art gallery.

I've now read the book and can say the movie is way better lol But I still think the Hayes character is one note. I have just seen Nick in Purple Hearts and he did so amazing with that because I felt the character was more complex and interesting. He did what he could with the character of Hayes in my opinion.

I just kept laughing that Anne Hataway was supposed to be 40 when she looks closer to 50. The whole forcing feminist ideals, give me a break
