I don’t think Colin was cringe. I took it as him acting and him not being his true self until the carriage scene. Also to polin I rewatched just their scenes in s1 and 2 before I watched S3 and they wasn’t lackluster or rushed to me I do wish we got more scenes of them together but overall this is definitely my favorite season. A breath of fresh air
I feel this is why they need to just release all the episodes because I have this feeling part 2 is going to be so much more with Colin and Penelope! 🤞 I kinda feel bad for agreeing with some of the criticism when I think about it, the full story hasn’t been all released.
I don’t think their love story is lacklustre.. they have had 2 seasons of build up between them.. just remember we still have a whole second part the Penelope and Colin couple are my favourite relationship out of all the other 2 seasons and we have a whole 4 episodes to see them being IN LOVE And I say that is because season 1 he was literally willing to 💀 instead of marrying her, and season 2 he was going to marry her sister and the couple literally only have 1 episodes for their relationship to develop. All Colin wanted to do is “fit in” with the ton, but Pen is kinda the only one to see right through it and treat him the same. Luke and Nicola said this season is for all the wallflowers.
I feel part 2 we are going to get so much more Pen and Colin together and we can’t wait!! 😛 I also think Colin is now just going to be himself in part 2 without all the winking, so that will be nice haha
Favourite season so far for me and it’s only halfway. We are not meant to like Colin in ep 1. He’s putting on an act of what he thinks he has to be, as being himself only got him laughed at or not taken seriously. I mean, look, he flirts excessively in a cringe way, acts more like season 1 Anthony and his brother takes him out for celebratory drinks. The mask drops with Pen after they make up. And he says in the carriage he’s been trying to feel less, as in be less sensitive and more like the other idiots, but it wasn’t really him. Luke Newton did a great job with some nuanced stuff in these eps.
I agree with the Lord Delvin take, I wish he had been more of a rival to Colin. They were just so on the nose about the fact Polin would happen that the Lord Devlin storyline seemed pointless at times. If they were going to have so many subplots why didn’t they just split it into two seasons and not rush through it?
We still really enjoyed it!! I see where some people are coming from. It’s hard to criticise something though when the whole season hasn’t been released. So we’ll circle back and see if these still are valid 👀👀

I think Colin is adorable. He’s just trying too hard and that’s the point of the storyline he’s trying to be somebody that he’s not

In a way the cringe works 🤣 just sometimes I have to look away cause I get too embarrassed for the character. I need part 2 asap!

He is definitely going to get with Cressida! I think they want to keep to a different love story each season
