Turn on the closed captions. It translates the French to English. The stuck up French guy wanted to cover up the smallpox. She said that would affect everyone in the whole city. Love the kilts. A proper Scotsman!

Love that you got the kilt! I also have Scottish ancestry dating back to the 1700s. My cousin is into genealogy and found that our ancestors are from the Lockheart clan. If you find out which clan your ancestry is from, maybe you could find the tartan for that clan!
The first and the last episodes of season 2 are the best episodes of the entire series, IMO

I have the dvd's for Outlander and when I watch season 2 it has the subtitles when they are talking french. I don't know where you are watching Outlander, but I thought they all show subtitles when not speaking english.
Yes, when I watched on Netflix they always had subtitles for the other languages (except the Gaelic, because they intentionally wanted the viewer to feel a little like an 'Outlander', the way Clair would have).
No. When she gets off the plane in Boston, she is remembering getting off the ship in France with Jamie. She is actually back in 1948 but you'll have to wait until you see that again. The Compte St. Germain is season two's bad guy. (He's actually based on a real person). Also, you should be getting translations on the screen. Not sure why you're not.
Another fun (at least I found it interesting 😉) fact... not only is the Compte St Germain a real historical person, but the Compte's theme in the soundtrack is based on a piece of music that the real Compte St Germain wrote.

Yes, he almost tore Jamie's ring from her hand when she returned. They made him nicer in the show to show how difficult it was for Claire to choose between him and Jamie. As if that was even necessary 🙄 - Frank who?😉.

Dude, you are going to have a really bad experience with this season in the France part if you don't turn on the captions. They have the English translation.
The lack of subtitles for French is so annoying. In S1 the gaelic isn't subtitled because it's Claire perspective and dhe doesn't understand. But everyone in this scene speaks French fluently! You can turn on cc but then you get the English subs too, which is distracting.

I never watched the series as I stopped reading the books when I realised I was reading books written by a bigot. Racism, sexism and fat shaming put me off Diana Gabaldon. And I am not the only one who noticed this. If you enjoyed the books and series, good for you. I didn't.
