I've watched a ton of your videos but just realized I could click a "thumbs up" on them. Will do that from now on. Just really wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I enjoy the balance of care, attention to detail and professionalism with a slow comfortable affect that makes it fun to watch you work. Thank you so much for sharing your time and efforts and God bless.
There's that leg design again. Haven't tried it yet but it's definitely on my next project soon. I recently found myself using a lot of poplar lately ha! I've learned a lot from your videos John I really appreciate them and thank you for sharing.
Great job John. I really enjoyed this video, the longer video contain so much more information. Too, I admire your ability to draw straight lines and arcs, I wish I could master it.
I love watching these videos and would much rather watch these at night instead of the TV (just need to convince my wife!) The videography is very well done, good angles and transitions, with nice clear audio and a nice calm pacing. As a DIYer, who is becoming addicted to woodworking, I've learned so much from watching your videos; this video in particular is going to help me out with a project that I'll be doing this week. I just wish I had a space like your workshop to work in. :) Thanks again for these excellent videos.
Not too long for me! I really like what you did with the legs; and what a great idea, beefing up the sides like that. Makes me think of all the 1/2" and 1/4" sheet goods I have lying around the shop...
Loved the project. Wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your videos. They have a New Yankee Workshop quality to them that feels comforting. I am always learning a new simple technique that makes my time in the shop more enjoyable. Although I haven't done it yet, you have inspired me to begin painting. I think I'll pass on the bee keeping. Great work! I look forward to your videos every week. I think you are a RUclipsr who can get away with a longer video.
Hey, what kind of paint to use for this furniture looks great. I have dealt with different types of paint and I have not found one that looks like that you used. I'm from Mexico, and maybe can find something similar in the stores here. Thanks for sharing.
Really nice, Jon - Also this was NOT "A really long video" - it was as long as it needed to be with no extraneous material (see Carl Jacobson's decision to include longer videos again). Slick editing has its place, but there's no substitute for good information, given in detail (where needed) - Thanks again for all your efforts - I've learned a lot
Steve SteveS Thanks Steve, it's good to know. I don't want to bore anyone with really long videos, but sometime I think the information needs to be there so its great to get your feedback Thanks again
Hello Jon want to watch the rest of this project videos can you post the link? I could not find them on your website etc? Thank you in advance Great project!!!!
Hi J I would watch your vids no matter how long , think you were right with the less overhang looked much better, could you have put screws into the shelves from the outside before covering them with the 1/4" ply or were you looking more support with the wood underneath the shelves, G
Instead of using screws for the glue up could you use a dowel so you don’t have to remove the screws and worry about filling potential holes? Btw great channel!
Well you are great, your videos cannot be to long! Thanks for sharing your work and experiences! You need to be careful however when you pass from this life at age 110 Gods gonna put you to work in the cloud building storage for Angle wings and such!
I'm a student with interest with this kind of things like DIY. I hope I can save money to buy the tools youre using. I really like to make my own cabinet.
Hey, Jon. Great job as usual. I have a question. I would like to make my 3/4 birch shelves 39 inches long. Do you think that would require a center support on the shelves? Thanks.
Jon, I really love your stuff. It has really helped me become a better builder. Thank you! Also, instead of that MDF cover sheet on the sides, since you're painting, wouldn't a thin spread of wood filler or Bondo also do the trick? Or maybe not even anything except sanding and paint, since it's on that back cover, and shielded by the external leg? This is not a critique, I'm just trying to learn from your experience. :) Thanks again for all your amazing content!
2 clamps on the back one on the front with a shim in the middle to counteract the deflection , He did not comment on that technique but I to find that the best way. Another great video
Very nice repurpose for your daughter. The way you inset the legs gives the front a nice appearance! I'm just sorry you had to cover up her crayon art on the top.

Edgar Rivera Thanks Edgar, that's great I'm glad to hear it and appreciate the comment.
I could see your art abilities coming through - no way could I draw a freehand arc like that. Very nice.
Great job John.
I really enjoyed this video, the longer video contain so much more information. Too, I admire your ability to draw straight lines and arcs, I wish I could master it.

Love the longer videos!
You have excellent videos! Really top class!,
Really helpful videos! hope you keep making more videos.
I love ur work I think I watched 80%+ of the videos you have on RUclips. I wanted to know have you made a flat form bed with drawers at the bottom?
Thanks Carlton, not yet but that is one Im thinking of for next year
Thank you. I want a plat form bed to be my first project. I'll have to wait and see.

Jon, what brand of miter chop saw are you using? It seems to be a pretty nice saw. Kenny C
Good makeover, thanks.
Jeff Harmed Thanks Jeff
That was a clever way you did the legs by integrating with the side trim.
Great video. Instead of screws could one use dowels?
This is another great vid. How did you attach the Hardwood top to the plywood?
Michael Bulger thanks , two screws on the center
Hello Jon want to watch the rest of this project videos can you post the link? I could not find them on your website etc? Thank you in advance Great project!!!!
I really enjoyed the video. It didn't seem too long to me!
***** Thanks man, appreciate the feedback
10:20 I would've simply used dowels instead of screws. Was there a reason you opted for screws?
Awesome Jon! I think I'm going to do the same thing. :)
scrubby4130 That's great enjoy the project and thanks for the comment.

very , very informal and interesting video . Thanks a lot - lot -lot .
Nice, thanks for sharing.
Jon, why do you wait til after priming to fill the holes?
Pat M Hi Pat, I like to sand the primmer and fill at the same time.
Ok, but then the filler gets no primer? Seems a little counter-intuitive.
I like two coats of primmer, but I see your point
***** That makes sense then. Thanks for the insights.
I'm a student with interest with this kind of things like DIY. I hope I can save money to buy the tools youre using. I really like to make my own cabinet.

Love it.🤙🏽

Thanks, probably or maybe add an 1 1/2 edge band to the front of the shelf
8:35 So much for ear protection near a saw blade
Excelente...
Thanks Marcos
Long videos are better videos! I really like the leg design - it adds a solid craftsman look to the piece.
Don Foster cool, thanks Don appreciate the comment

Hi Jon, your nail gun is 18 or 16 gauge ?
18
Yes it is a long video, but didn't feel like it. Thanks Jon.
maybe you could use the salt trick (or sand trick ) to keep your pieces from moving around while glueing them ?
2 clamps on the back one on the front with a shim in the middle to counteract the deflection , He did not comment on that technique but I to find that the best way.
Another great video
hey man love the vids i made that blanket chest for my daughter she loves it
That's great thanks for the comment

Please tell me you live near San Antonio, Texas; if so, I would be honored to apprentice with you, free of charge.
Very nice repurpose for your daughter. The way you inset the legs gives the front a nice appearance! I'm just sorry you had to cover up her crayon art on the top.
MRrwmac thanks man, yeah I know was thinking the same thing.
what's the oil name that in video?
It wasn't to long :) thanks for the info :)
excellent !! thanks !
Great repurpose
Holae podrías dar medidas
Great job! too long of a video for me though. Sorry Jon, I just don't have twenty minutes to spend
Good.....not too long.....repetition makes things "long". Each portion is its own technique so, the attention remains.
Videos are too long when they aren't informative. I would have watched this one if it was an hour. Good work sir.
