Thanks for the video! I especially enjoyed seeing the build-up of the molding. Sometimes it's difficult to see the individual profiles that make them up, but you presented it very clearly. Great job!!
What a gorgeous cabinet! Would love to see it with a simple whitewash stain and no paint, that would be awesome to capitalize on the wood grain pattern
Dude. I've been in carpentry 35 years so please consider this. In the beginning of video, the 45° of flat stock, you measured the board with table saw still running. The tape measure and your fingers were within a inch of running blade. Maybe you didn't realize it but IMO you did it out of habit. This needs corrected.
This man makes wonderful items and I love watching his technique, however it's hard to watch how close he allows his fingers to get to the table saw and router blades. PLEASE use push sticks!

The impeccable quality of your woodworking deserves a far better finish than this "shabby chic" paint job. I restore and preserve historic furniture, and often have to match the wear and patina of replacement parts. There's a lot more to it than adding a few dents and sanding through the paint in obvious areas as is so popular these days. Your work deserves better! But I know, it's what the customer wants, so what are you going to do?
Great woodworking skills and one can learn a lot by watching you. Thank you for sharing your hard earned knowledge. As some others have stated, I don't understand the attraction of the shabby chic look. As one that grew up in Southern Appalachia where poverty was the norm and any and all painted furniture looked like this from years of service, it seems to me that people are spending a lot of money to look less than affluent. New furniture of any sort was very rare. All furnishings there out of necessity. The one old item I would love to have is a Hoosier kitchen cabinet in good shape. But I would not leave the scratches and mars that it has attained over the years. I would make repairs as needed, sand it down, carefully paint it and bring it back to the beautiful piece that it began as. I think pieces like these deserve to be brought back to their former glory.. And while I am denigrating other people's taste, I hate milk paint too.
Great job. Congratulations. Do you have a video on how you make the door frames? I need to replace a pattern just like this with some old doors and it would be a great help.
GREAT TRIM JOB ... it is rewarding but time consuming 😊 After you distress the paint finish did you do a clear coat off vid ??? or would that defeat your goal for the final look ?
Don't think I have ever seen better 45's. Nicely done.
Thanks for the video! I especially enjoyed seeing the build-up of the molding. Sometimes it's difficult to see the individual profiles that make them up, but you presented it very clearly. Great job!!

What a treat to watch this process! ❤
Prelepo.

See you still have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs. Those are very nice pieces, nice work well done.

My wife brought out something similar that I was doing around the table saw. I made an effort to correct it and still have all my fingers. Good catch.

This is one of the techniques of painting furniture.
It is better to make it the way an individual likes.

I gave it a varnish finish.
