- COULDN'T I JUST TELL YOU WITH KASIM SULTON ON BASS FROM THE BOTTOM LINE IN NYC ON MAY 14, 1978. THE PERFORMERS ARE THE HELLO PEOPLE(GREGG GEDDES, BOBBY SEDITA, NORMAN D SMART II AND LARRY TASSE) JOHN SIEGLER, MOOGY KLINGMAN, AND WILLIE WILCOX.
THIS IS FROM A VERY RARE HOME VIDEO RELEASE ENTITLED "LIVE SPECIAL" TODD RECORDED 4 1/2 HOURS OF THE PERFORMANCE THAT NIGHT, MIXED THE AUDIO DOWN AND GAVE IT TO VISIONDISC VIDEO ENTERTAINMENT, THEY HIRED A PRODUCER AND VIDEO ARTIST TO COMPLETE THE VIDEO FOR ONE HOUR RELEASE, I'M ASSUMING WITHOUT TODD'S INPUT, THEY CUT INTO THE MIDDLE OF SONGS, AND I MEAN CUT, REALLY BAD EDITS, THERE ARE SO MANY BAD EDITS THEY WERE ABLE TO FIT 15 SONGS INTO AN HOUR IF THAT TELLS YOU ANYTHING! ANYWAY, RUMOR HAS IT TODD SAW THE FINISHED PRODUCT AND DEMANDED THE VIDEO BE PULLED FROM THE SHELVES. I WAS VERY LUCKY ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO TO FIND A SEALED COPY OF THIS VIDEO ON EBAY SO YOU ARE GETTING THE VIDEO STRAIGHT FROM THE HOME VIDEO. ENJOY, I HAVE A FEW MORE COMPLETE SONGS FROM THIS VIDEO I'LL BE PUTTING UP SOON. Видеоклипы

probs my fav todd song.
Excellent! Best live version!
Great video & performance. Thanks!
BTTB: "The Hello People, Larry Tasse, Norman Smart, Greg Geddes and Bobby Sedita!" This song is great in any way, shape or form. Got any friends that are "Todd curious?" Point them to 1) S/A, and 2) Back To The Bars. Then, when they come back ... take them by the hand, sit them down, and put on AWATS, Todd, Initiaition -- and be there for them, cuz they are gonna NEED YOU!!! Todd Is Godd.
What a rush to see this. Thanks!
Great - Thanks for posting this.
I was there too! But my ticket stub says May 12th 1978. Must have done a run of shows. What a great night.
Love it!!! I was there!!!!
Jeez-I just stumbled on this; huge t
LOVE!
Todd and the boyz kicked ass and taking names
Was at this show
@GordonEveryday hey, my fave Todd song too!
No Big Deal....Can;t keep it Bottled up Inside.....
wow Todd's voice has sounded better. But the harmonies and the overall groove are so outrageous, I can forgive him a few choked high notes. At least he took it on the chin and didn't rob the familiar listener by modulating the key of the song. I'd pay good money for a DVD of this whole show...
I think his singing was best earliest in his career honestly. His singing on Runt, Something/Anything, and The Hermit of Kink Hollow is cleanest.
Like he has been performing it the last year or so
When Kasim was younger and more nimble...
Well, he did break his ankle - it's on youtube, very sad.... and it was during performing that kick thing near the end, during a version of this very song!...
Did this take end up on Back To The Bars?
No, Utopia's version did
John Siegler watched his career die about halfway through this song...
I love the imperfections of live songs. Todd misplays a chord at 2:40. Musicians should play live more! Lip syncing is not music!
Give me live. The real deal. It’s not studio perfect but so what?!!
Funny you say that... His biggest hit "Hello it's Me" is all one live take. I live the mistakes... Music shouldn't be perfect and boring.
