  • NEVER NEVER LAND FROM THE BOTTOM LINE IN NYC ON MAY 14, 1978. THE PERFORMERS ARE THE HELLO PEOPLE(GREGG GEDDES, BOBBY SEDITA, NORMAN D SMART II AND LARRY TASSE) JOHN SIEGLER, MOOGY KLINGMAN, AND WILLIE WILCOX.
THIS IS FROM A VERY RARE HOME VIDEO RELEASE ENTITLED "LIVE SPECIAL" TODD RECORDED 4 1/2 HOURS OF THE PERFORMANCE THAT NIGHT, MIXED THE AUDIO DOWN AND GAVE IT TO VISIONDISC VIDEO ENTERTAINMENT, THEY HIRED A PRODUCER AND VIDEO ARTIST TO COMPLETE THE VIDEO FOR ONE HOUR RELEASE, I'M ASSUMING WITHOUT TODD'S INPUT, THEY CUT INTO THE MIDDLE OF SONGS, AND I MEAN CUT, REALLY BAD EDITS, THERE ARE SO MANY BAD EDITS THEY WERE ABLE TO FIT 15 SONGS INTO AN HOUR IF THAT TELLS YOU ANYTHING! ANYWAY, RUMOR HAS IT TODD SAW THE FINISHED PRODUCT AND DEMANDED THE VIDEO BE PULLED FROM THE SHELVES. I WAS VERY LUCKY ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO TO FIND A SEALED COPY OF THIS VIDEO ON EBAY SO YOU ARE GETTING THE VIDEO STRAIGHT FROM THE HOME VIDEO. ENJOY, I HAVE A FEW MORE COMPLETE SONGS FROM THIS VIDEO I'LL BE PUTTING UP SOON.

That footage is a treasure. Todd was such a young wunderkind back then. The abilities he had as a producer, engineer, songwriter, guitar player, AND performer were just so unusual in one so young..........all of those skills were so matured in him and to think he was only in his early twenties.

Yeah, I remember how dumbfounded I was at all of his talent as producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and of course, not least, incredible writer. It was even more endearing to see how weak his vocals were on his first solo album (Runt) and how much better and more confident he got with each album.....there is something so other worldly about young Todd!

I loved discovering his music in the early 80's. Definitely late to the party but happy to be there.

My friend Kenny and I went the entire week. Great club, but no more. Todd was incredible along with the Hello People and a very young Kasim. Those were the days. $7 ticket prices and an incredible show. And we always met the greatest Todd fans. Happy to say we still do ,after all these years. Thanks for posting.

I first heard and loved instantly this record A Wizard A True Star in 1975.
We’d loved his Something/Anything with Hello It’s Me and next I found the progressive rock record with this nestled in it and was astounded by his artistry and uncompromising talent.
    I’ll always love Todd.

Todd was greatly influenced by Broadway Show tunes, especially those of Gilbert and Sullivan. Lord Chancellor's Nightmare on the album Todd also showcases his infatuation as well as his own penned Elpees Worth of Toons. Reading the book A Dream Goes On Forever really helps give you insight into Todd's glory years. Hard to fathoom how much he did in the 70s alone. Prolific is an understatement. What a genius. Thanks for the memories.

Yikes...if I'd known about this I would never have bought Utopia....some of it was interesting, but no matter how often you heard it there was never a sense of a voice that had any identity.
