I love this scene because it really shows the consequences/conflict of Peter being Spiderman like how a lot of this movie did. The MCU Spiderman movies really lack that. We never got this kind of conflict. There was the potential for that with Liz in the first movie, but the plot has her move away at the end which kills said potential.

I know people love the new spider man movies. As they should, because this new Era of Teens should be hype & enjoy it. But scenes like this one are legendary! I still remember going to the movies to see this, & me all my friends were so HYPE. I don’t get that same feeling when watching the new spider man films. The only last spider man movie I absolutely LOVED was into the spider Verse! But I hate how all these new people wanna hate on Tobey. In my opinion Tobey played the role perfectly & deserves all the respect. If he’s in the new movie by any chance, he’s gonna steal the show.
Tbh I don't see many MCU fans hating on the Raimi Trilogy. It's usually the opposite with Raimi fans trashing on the new Spider-Man films, being rude to Tom Holland fans, etc. Personally I enjoy all of the Spider-Man movies and don't quite understand why people have such heated arguments about which iteration is better because they're all great imo, and have different strengths and weaknesses.

Spider-Man 2 is absolutely one of my favorite childhood movies. I loved doc ock and seeing Spider-Man reveling his true identity and Harry finally knew all along the his best friend is Spider-Man who didn’t kill Norman Osborn. Sam raimi did a fantastic job directing this movie for use 90s kids back in 2004

But the morality of Spider-Man falls under great integrity and responsibility. He will honor people even when it seems detrimental.
Aside from honoring Green Goblin's final request to not tell Harry, it would have taken time to convince Harry. Time Peter didn't have. Naturally the result of having tried to tell him the truth is what you see in Spider Man 3 : Harry wouldn't listen or believe it until the butler told him the cause of death.

Peter should have broke his promise to Norman as soon as he was unmasked. Imagine if he told the truth here. They would have immediately faced off against Venom & Sandman in Spider-Man 3 & maybe Harry survives bc Peter wouldn’t have gotten trapped by Venom later in that fight & need to be saved by Harry’s sacrifice.
All Peter had to say was "it wasn't me " Peter still keeps his promise and harry knows it wasn't Peter.
