@@sabrina63 No it's not a low bar it had a terrible script and venom was poorly written and it was all because of Sony holding Raimi at gunpoint saying "If YoU dOnT iNcLuDe VeNoM wErE nOt HeLpInG" if it wasn't for them and they did it Raimi's way, 80% of the movie would be acceptable. It's their fault that Spider-Man 3 was trash and it's their fault that Spider-Man 4 got cancelled.

@@CheddarMannn Yeah but that doesn’t take away the fact he was still being a hero before he even met Stark, so what exactly changed? it’s not like Stark was setting some sort of high expectations for him either, in the beginning of the film he shows he only needed Peter for that particular mission and wasn’t planning on seeing him anytime soon. That’s why the “nothing without the suit” storyline could’ve been something the movie would’ve benefited from had it been left out.

It kinda sucks bc it’s moments like this where Spider-Man doesn’t know whether to believe his instincts or not fast enough to react bc it literally comes out of nowhere at the most random times he was happy on his way to propose to MJ w his aunt’s ring and in a split second, he’s snatched up and now in a life or death fight with his best friend. Spider-Man will never get to live a normal life again no matter how hard he tries😂🤦🏿♂️

Rewatching this, Peter was taking it easy on Harry. But when he needed to step it up, he bullied Harry off the glider and then clotheslined him within like 7 seconds both times.

It's actually called the "sky stick" instead of a glider.
The suit itself and his weapons work pretty well but I wish he had an actual Goblin mask instead of the ski mask that he has in the film. The Goblin mask could have been black to match the outfit and he would have looked much cooler imo
@@charlespackowski6620Yeah, iirc the movie showed that in Harry's lab there were other choices for masks like a silver version of the original Green Goblin mask. Could've gone for the Hobgoblin aesthetic

The suit is better but for me Norman's glider is still better

This has to be my favorite scene in a hero movie ever, there are so many little details, like how in the beggining you can see Peter's expression change before the hit, how Peter is going easy on Harry and barely punches back until Harry brings out the shuriken-things which Peter expresses to hate so he throws them back at him, also in too many fiction fights the whole issue could be resolved by talking, here the very first thing Peter does is explain exactly what happened. Peter is forced to a situation where he has no choice but to take Harry down even if it was honestly a very brutal way to go about it.
Also I have to keep saying it, in the Raimi movies time and time again we see Peter happily riding around NY in his crappy scooter, it doesn't matter where's he's going he could get faster by web swinging, he's riding that scooter out of pure unfiltered fun, look at his expression at the beggining, dude's just enjoying the ride.

Nah Peter wasnt going easy on him. Harrys attack was well orchestrated. First time ive seen Peter not have any kind of spidey sense before getting hit. A rare time spiderman is caught off guard.

Still one of my favorite fight scenes ever. I remember when I first saw this at 10 years old, it blew my mind. The choreography, the visuals, the weight, the fact it was Peter and not Spider-Man, all so cool. Love the shot where he gets thrown through the windows.
This fight scene blew me away in the cinemas when this came out back in 2007, this was the fight they were building up to ever since the end of 2002.

I really like how Peter in this scene reacts very quickly to what is happening and orients himself in space.
Here he is riding a moped and after a couple of seconds he is already hitting a stranger in the face. If you look carefully, before imprinting him into the wall, he managed to release a web. When Harry threw it out the window, he focused in the air and saw the ring. Then, with lightning speed, he thought of a catapult and flew after the ring. And so it is in every action.

One of my favorite spiderman fight scenes ever.
The sequence between 1:49 - 2:16 is epic asf. The camera angles, the music, it shows Peter's ability to adapt to danger and his quick thinking to turn defense to offense. Awesome stuff.
I really like the idea of Spider-Man having an organic webbing. It makes his powers more unique, rather than just relying on tech equipment.

I know Harry's use of the serum was solely for killing Peter to avenge Norman, but I really wish we could have gotten more villainous scenes of Harry as New Goblin that didn't just involve him trying to kill Peter. I just love how Harry's goblin fatigues were more like assault gear with a green theme, as opposed to a literal green-colored goblin suit like his dad wore. Harry's whole look was so cool and well-designed that it deserved much more screen time in my opinion.
When i will get rich I want to make the same but functional armor and buy jet glider 😂, it's cool af haha.

I have to agree with Raymond, and I'm someone who watched the train fight so much as a kid that it's burned into my soul. The choreography here, micro and macro, is off the charts.

Spiderman is always holding back because he trust he can defuse the situation when needed but in this scene he was confused and worried about his wedding ring, once he got his head straight about this situation he handled it just well. Typical super hero strategy. Kinda like goku in dragon ball z, he takes a beating just to see what his enemy is capable of then take them down in a appropriate matter.

One of the best fight scenes in a movie. Idk if anyone has ever fought in a tight space with obstacles like bullets and glass flying around everywhere but, the amount of mental focus and ability to stay calm in such a moment is nothing short of a miracle. Not to mention when your getting hit you have to just say to self, still alive, keep fighting. All this at once. Lol.

One of the most underrated fight scenes ever, one of the best for me
Its crazy because this would never happen in the newer movies. In part because the tech is reflected based on when the movie is made. As soon as harry grabbed peter everyone would know since there would have been like 20 phones recording and 4 cameras somewhere. Because of the timeframe of when the movie was made this wasnt a factor.

I love Tobey this whole fight he was not trying to really fight Harry with full strength. In all honesty, Peter had seen combat way too much, and Harry was just starting. I also love the fact that Peter's Spider-Man sense didn't go off with the blades, but it went off when Harry flew thru the brick wall. Kinda makes you think does spider sense weaken when it's someone you view as an ally or friend?

I like how Peter just throws Harry off his glider and goes back for the ring. He had no way of knowing the glider would go to him.
The accident that happens to Harry is very well done. I like the little detail when he hits the web it gives in just a bit, but he hits it so hard and it only gets worse. If the web is stronger than a steelcable even with his durability harry must have suffered a major neck injury from the start. He has a healing factor so as long as he was alive he was all good but still crazy.
The ost at 3:30 makes the whole fight sound tragic and sad because if you think about it, it is two best friends fighting. We grew up with Harry and Peter in the first Sam raimi movie, then in Spider-Man 2 Harry finds out Peter is Spider-Man and becomes hateful towards him due to him believing Spider-Man killed Norman not realizing Norman accidentally killed himself while attempting to kill Spider-Man.
And then there's the fact that he stole his girl. MJ is the love of Harry's life too.
