    I was part of a group called N'cognito and we were chicano rappers who stayed in the game for over 10 years in west los and orange county and I can tell you that what frost is saying is the truth. The problem with "Latin Rap" or "Chicano Rap" is that everyone takes that street mentality to the music...we need to regroup and start over in this industry so that new artist can build a new empire....word up frost! u influenced me ...keep doing what you do best-Madz N'cognito

    After watching this video you'd think people would recognize that he's talking about Chicanos holding each other back, or being racist towards blacks and vice-a- versa, yet I look at the comments and a lot of you can't understand. Nearly makes me ashamed to be Chicano. If we can't see past color and accept changes in cultures we'll be stuck in the past. Move on and do something with your life. Ignorance only sets us back.

Regardless, It's not cool to be disrespectful to someone because of what they look like, where they come from or because they might have less money than you. Have some self respect and give each other respect, help each other out "if you can" and be happy for others. Be the person everyone likes, you will feel better.

    Mellow Man Ace was not the first latin rapper. Everyone knows that rap was established from the South Bronx where blacks and Puerto Ricans once were the majority. Puerto Ricans are a big factor to the creation of Hip-hop. Puerto Rican rappers have been around since the start. Much love to the Mexicans for expanding the rap game, but Frost is mainly about Chicano rappers, which disappoints me. Ricans don't listen to Chicano rap, but this Puerto Rican do. I'm a big fan of Cypress Hill, Kid Frost, and Psycho Realm. Much love!!

    • @morglife63
      @morglife63 10 лет назад +2

      Puerto ricans had nothing to with the creation of hip hop, sorry sir, but that's false. Just because you witness something happening doesn't means you help create it. The only Puerto Rican rapper i know was big bun,fat joe and that's it.

    • @DjAmpfibian
      @DjAmpfibian 10 лет назад +21

      ChiTown63rd Just like blacks from the south have no knowledge of hip-hop, you sir have extremeley no knowledge of hip-hop. Even blacks in the Bronx would laugh to your comment. Puerto Rappers in the 80's didn't rap about Puerto Rican this and Puerto Rican that. Chicano's such as Kid Frost did. Ever heard of Prince Markie Dee from the Fat Boys? A famous rap group from the 80's and even had their own movie. Look up Tuff Crew and watch Ice-Dog (an underated Puerto Rican rapper) that was ahead of his time with his flow as well? Watch the movie Beat Street? What, are those light skin black people you see break dancing? I can go back to more Puerto Rican emcees from the early 80's if you want and that's excluding the many Puerto Rican Dj's that were part of black rap groups. Sorry, but do your research before you make such a stupid comment again. I didn't have to do research for one simple fact....I was there to see the creation happen :) :) :) Much props to the Mexican rappers though, but no..... Puerto Ricans were not just the first of latin rappers. They also helped elstablished Hip-Hop along with the blacks.

    • @morglife63
      @morglife63 10 лет назад +1

      Javier Gonzalez all those Puerto Ricans you're naming was either apart of a black rap group or of a black dj crew. Puerto Ricans has no imprint on hip hop. Like i said, just because you witness the beginning of a movement doesn't mean you was apart of it. You latinos are so hypocritical, you only claim shit when it benefits you, any other time y'all latinos wanna distance y'all self from black culture.. You fools wanna be apart of are culture,but you latinos are not very accepting towards blacks being apart of y'all culture..

    • @DjAmpfibian
      @DjAmpfibian 10 лет назад +10

      ChiTown63rd I love it when a Black guy with knowledge from a 3 block radius comming from Chi-town say stupid shit. Come to Ny and Philly and watch the many blacks and Puerto Ricans hanging out together in the city. Come to the Puerto rican parades in Ny and see the many black people roaming around with Puerto Rican flags wrapped around their body and walking and hanging with Puerto Ricans. Yet, you say we want to be like black people? Lmfao!!! You're ignorant homie. That's like me saying black people are wannabe Chicanos for copying the Lowriders in LA, which Chicano's had first. For your info....Puerto Ricans are a small race compared to black people and for being a small race.... We did a hell of a good job help create Hip Hop. I'm not going to reply anymore to your ignorant comments. I can eat you if you wanna start off with that black vs latino bullshit. Latinos aint white bols that stay quiet. Obviously, you know that coming from Chi-town :) Take care buddy.

    • @DjAmpfibian
      @DjAmpfibian 10 лет назад +1

      ***** You are ver close to your words and I respect that, but if Mellow is not considered to have the first solo latin album. Might as well consider the Real Roxanne if that's the case. First, Puerto Ricans are a small race compared to Mexicans, so of course Mexicans are going to sell more records. Second, it's crazy how the game works with Mexican rappers still playing the East Coast vs West Coast rap game. B-Real from Cypress Hill didn't want to accept the fact the truth about Big Pun being the first solo latin rapper to go platinum. He wanted to take the credit of Cypress Hill being the first latin rappers to go platinum, which I agree, but Cypress Hill is a group. Mexico is a very huge country with a huge race even in the US and their most wackest rapper can make millions, but it doesn't mean that he or she is the best rapper. There were many Puerto Rican rappers in the 80's that had solo's, but it was just an East Coast thing. We didn't go crazy representing Puerto Rican this and that until the 90's. Mexicans were the first to represent Latinos in the rap game and I give credit to that, but Frost needs to stop claiming latinos needing to step it up one second and chicanos taking it all the next second. Its wrong. His whole talk was mainly about chicanos. Mellow was Cuban but was from the West Coast, so of course he had Mexican back-up. So did Son Doobie (a Puerto Rican). Was he the best latin rapper after being the first rapper to do a porno? I know that Puerto Ricans as well are ignorant for discrediting Chicano rap music, but if you're a real rap listener then you should know the real rap history and know what real rap music is really about. Chicanos have their rappers, which I support, but it's wrong to falsely advertise latinos as chicanos only and Puerto Ricans never existing. It's truely wrong.

    Aj rodriguez and dirty playa. Both blacks and Hispanics have there own style whether its lowriding or spitting flows on a beat we all get encouragement from eachother. Almost everybody sports Jordan's on there feet and some people sport the nike Cortes. But we live in an environment where we both have to live a certain way depending on where were from. Bay area has its own style....way different then Los Angeles. We just need to learn how to except life and the differences it has.. We outcast ourselves because we want to be somebody were not. Were forced to be racist with eachother because our older homies say we have to. Just live your lives, smoke drink party or go to church, whatever you do be a positive influence. Stay up Fellaz.

      chris09221980 What hispanics have to call their own? Hispanics tries to put black people down, in order to uplift there self. What is hispanics known for? To me, hispanics are jealously people. You hate black people, but you love everything we do. How can people from a third world country come over here and talk shit. You coming over here from a country that don't even have clean drinking water, coming over here trying to down somebody, what nerve..! Worry about your own filthy country, and your own people.

      ChiTown63rd you just made yourself sound really ignorant ChiTown, so you really think every Hispanic, Latino or whatever you call us comes from Mexico. Don't know what experience you have had in your life but to say that all Hispanics put black people down is really, really dumb. You just sound like a really racist ass and I'm sure I will get a really racist response when you read this so that will not be a surprise.

    Real talk I don't bang but grew around the that old school Chicano culture In Northern Cali Bay Area Central Valley so basically around Norteños. The thing Bout Northern Mexicans is that they keep it Black And Brown Blacks Show Much Love to Mexicans out here but the sad thing is Over stupid colors that we got to be separated like kid frost said Look at The black hip hop culture in the west coast they help each other out no wonder they're successful and have so many good classics my point is if we Just unite Como La Raza se debe vas vamos a ver la deferencia watch it but who am I just one guy wanting the best for Chicanos...

    Scrolling threw the comments and all I see is a whole bunch of hattin going on. Wtf really this is how and why the Latino people can never get along and why we are where we are in the music industry. If yall think frost is fake or not mexican its because all you see is the "entertainer" he take care of his fam and kids i follow him on IG. Just cuz a mf dont bang mean he aint real cuz its alotta alotta mfs who bang and slang and real they just doing to fit in.... Then when they hit the pen they realize they are in the wrong game. So Latin peopoe dont hate show love keep it 100 and do you

    Did he put on other rappers? Yea brownside where bangers. But they where real to their life. Frost is a famous chicano in the music but honestly Frost acted like a banger in his music. He faked the funk! Toker brownside punked him with brownside. Foo in the hotel didn't have time to talk to them vatos.
    If anything i see hypocrisy right now this vato is a selfish foo ready to defend his decisions but yet he couldn't for 1 second just stop the faking gangster life. Im sputting facts! You can dress chicano yes but nake nusic for gangster life when your not a real 1 is fake asf. Lil Rob is also famous but this foo don't bang nomore. There legacy will be based on their MUSIC for RAZA. But neta Frost was and never could be a real banger just like Lil Rob nd ms caphony e.
    Toker and Blackie where real 1s there gone now. Shows who is really about that life. Frost was never about it so if he wants bump his gums about aint no sunshine he should check himself first. Otherwise still RAZA. But at the end of the day don't promote g life if your not about it. The real 1s will never promote it but just make music for real active 1s. Chicano rap is dedicated either to the gs or the chicano RAZA. When you come be real like kid frist said but don't backpeddle when you catch heat for faking the funk! Be real with yourself not like these "Chicano rappers"! Peace and live for my RAZA!

    This is nothing but the truth. Unfortunately this attitude dates back to our native times and it's something that even with beatings will be remedied. We have to surround ourselves with a different influence. An influence that makes us want to unite and be better, but until then nothing will change.

    Insane in the Membrane does not say that in that verse. And it never mentions him by name. It says "You know, I don't take a chulo lightly, punks just jealous cuz he can't out write me". I'm not sure where Frost is hearing that at. And B Real has already said in several interviews that the song is a diss to Chubb Rock for stealing their style on one of his early 1990's albums. I got love for Frost, but I think he was a little bit paranoid. They did have a beef at one time, but I don't think in manifested there.
