Damn back in the 90s eminem lost a battle to juice and went on to become argueably the best rapper to ever touch the mic, made numerous number one songs and made millions off his flows. Juice win this battle but to this day 90 percent of the population has never heard of juice or this battle. Weird how the world turns.
Eminem said: You couldn't make the crowd throw their hands up if you made them swallow their fingers 🔥🔥. Even back then Eminem was using word play, punch lines and bars
"I stay lit; so this mic just may spit/ Don't say shit; I'm having a bad day bitch/ I'm nothing to play with; I do you away with, like NWAs shit, when Cube and Dre split/ Juice from head to toe, got you screamin' 'hey quit'!/ -Your weaker flows, an innocent kid disgraced it, bitch/ I'm getting carried away just a ye' bit/ So pray quick - don't call your boys cause they split/ Get a first-aid kit; ... Greatest ever. EM says Juice finnally got hjm. This battle was amazing... and Em is still remembered to this day. Juice was amazing, em was young and went on to become the goat.
Such a sick interview. Don't think anybody's got Eminem to open up that candidly in public before, and Mike's always a pleasure to listen to these days.
A big lesson to learn from this, even the great once lost to someone, failure isn’t the end of it all, make failure your source of motivation… you aren’t the first and you won’t be the last, don’t give up,no matter what ✌️
Freestyling and off the top are 2 different things. Off the dome is good for short quips and things like flipping an opponents lines but try off the dome for longer than 20 seconds and shit starts sounding like corny nursery rhymes that dont actually rhyme or flow. Em and Juice are both using pre writ lines, the freestyling is in the way they combine them to make new bars to suit the situation at hand. Others who do research on their opponents might come with the whole verse written but they'll still throw in a freestyle line or 2 if they see an opportunity which is usually how pre writs can seem like off the dome because their addressing something thats just happened. Thats the skill of a wordsmith. Shit doesnt just magically appear. Battle rappers put in work before every battle.
+Master Killer I feel like professional battles need to have strictly freestyle battles - that takes more skill than to write a verse. prewritten shit for battles is cool, but just one aspect of battling
+San Mane I know you're trying to sound knowledgeable, but you don't know shit if you think Juice was spitting written lines. Good grief, you people need to learn a thing or two. Juice has a freestyle on youtube where he's auctioning off a tattoo for a charity event. Juice has a freestyle on youtube spitting to topics, the one uploaded by wermone not even 2 months ago. I could go on and on.
Lol in all seriousness, juice is well off and a master at his craft. Fame ain’t everything to some mcs. He’s probably more honored that he fought a legendary icon in the making
Eminem was starting out when Juice was well known and almost beat him so it shows alot from him, but if they were to battle now, Em would destroy it no doubt.
Enkore BRUHZ There's no real experience unless you have to learn to please millions of ears with each song. I'm sure all of these underground rappers would become much better if they went mainstream. Why? Cause people will criticize you, point out what you are doing wrong and shit. That's why mainstream rappers ARE better than underground rappers. They know how to entertain people. Yes that goes for shit artists like lil wayne and drake and shit. Look at the difference between this Eminem and the legend Eminem now.
Giorgos Apoel Boo. Did you just say that "underground rappers would become much better if they went mainstream"? You should really educate yourself, maybe try looking at Eyedea or Aesop Rock to show you that you don't need to go mainstream, you can also have your own label and improve your production over time, while keeping it REAL. You shouldn't really give a fuck about 'people criticizing' your music, you just grow. You shouldn't be an artist for popularity or money.
mutedmakequiet Critics aren't a bad thing if you wanna keep upgrading your shit. And who's a better critic than millions of people bashing your music on the internet? Also artist need to make money as well and im guessing being underground doesn't pay much. Not to mention you don't get to influence many people, cause they never heard of you. In my opinion , that's the most important thing, especially for rap music. The power to inspire and influence people.

I've said it before and I will point it out here. You notice Em was tripping up a bit here and there and alot of the time couldn't really stay with the beat. That is what happens when you come of the top of your head and have to try to think quickly from verse to verse. You notice Juice was always on rhythm and on beat and came up with all kinds of references without any kind of hesitation or trip up. He used that exact line in at least 3 different battles in the Rap Olympics. Search on RUclips for “Eminem Freestyle Battles Rap Olympics 1997.” In the last battle, he says these exact bars, completely off beat. I can refer you to several other videos in different locations where he says it too. This is the real reason why he lost the Rap Olympics. Back then, only a few people were video tapping live Rap Battles. It took a while to catch up to him as a result. Note that throughout the entire journey to the final battles, several other videos against different opponents reveals other fully repeated lyrics that he wrote. It doesn’t take away his from his skill, it just demonstrates that he wrote a series of possible scenarios out, and then recited them during different battles. There are newer battle rappers who have trouble making songs, that actually do freestyle. It’s unfortunate that Eminem is listed among them when the evidence of repeated lyrics throughout each tier of the battle are available on RUclips.

Damn back in the 90s eminem lost a battle to juice and went on to become argueably the best rapper to ever touch the mic, made numerous number one songs and made millions off his flows. Juice win this battle but to this day 90 percent of the population has never heard of juice or this battle. Weird how the world turns.

Battle rappers put in work before every battle.
foreal
MCS should be able to battle off the top. that takes mad skill. this prewritten shit is whack.
Learn a thing or two about Juice before you go around saying he's spitting written stuff. Shit.

Never, ever heard of Juice, defo never made across to the UK but he's got the whole package and despite Eminem's obvious skills, he's 2nd in this one. As someone else mentioned, it's weird how this dude didn't achieve bigger success. I bet he was class in his prime!
The difference is one went
Down the music industry path and the other sticked to freestyling and is well known in freestyling world.
That is what happens when you are rapping some shit you already have prepared. Just sayin. Not taking away anything from anybody but you all know what the fuck i'm talking about whether you want to admit it or not.
During the last round when Juice said "I can't believe you made it to the final, I'll make you flatter than a vinyl" or w/e made me think he already had that line made up beforehand since he knew he would have to be the final battle.
+Blackichan2k10 Back then you had some pre written stuff too. that's why em is writing stuff some times in 8 mile. He wasn't writing a song then.
This cry baby is talking about "whether you want to admit it or not" when there is video proof of Juice freestyling to random topics that's doper than anything he said in this. Not to mention that there are even better freestyle battlers. Like wtf, dude if you think this is raw then search 'spin the mic - thesaurus vs illmaculate'. Fake ass hip hop head.

little known fact about that Budweiser from Juice. here in Chicago that was the hook on a dance/juke song. So he didn't actually create that acronym off the top of his head. The set up was just perfect for him since there was a Budweiser can near by.
side note: for those that don't get it. The "Every Rip" part is a Chicago term. it means every time.
He didn't create the English language either, but he used it in this rap battle. So the Budweiser reference is still of the dome.

Right? And this is 1997 and people think he hasn’t ever battled anyone!! Smfh
i heard this bar in 1999 and never knew who he was battling! lol
@@ArtofZenDigital - Willing to bet 99% of battle rappers kept lyrics in their head to run with when battling multiple times per month. Other than someone like Super Natural, I cant see anyone with perfect cadence and delivery everytime. Even Juice. Like another poster said, Eminem won the war.
