I first heard this song a few months after I met my now husband. To me it sounded interesting, then he explained it to me, and I liked it. Time passed, we got married, etc. It's been 5 years and last year for Christmas we went to Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico to see the rest of his family. This song came back to my mind when we were there b/c I know SO MANY people who would have wanted to go home ASAP after 1 day staying where we were. Some of his family is very poor, but they offered a room for us to stay and food, so it's nothing to bitch about. But a lot of people are self centered, materialistic, and all about status. I stayed a month, in a house w/no functional shower, toilets are outside, no fancy wash machines - more old fashioned like hand washing, no dryers, no computers, tiny TVs b/c they can't afford a big flat screen, no Ipods or Iphones ... then I thought of this song. Who gives a shit if I come from a middle class family and I grew up w/everything I wanted and needed? I had a funner and happier Christmas for the first time in my 31 years than I ever did in my whole life! And I don't even speak Spanish. I hope Trump falls down the stairs soon and ends up in a coma. He's an asshole.
I wish Trump would come spend a few weeks in Leon. Work 12 hours a day making shoes like I've seen my in laws do for just a few peso's. Trump is a pussy and he dk what hard work really is. I also went to Jalisco and Mexico City to see the beautiful churches and the mines. The women make those ponchos and clay dishes by hand .. nothing goes through a factory like here in the USA. I bought a pair of borrachos .. er, sandals lol. Handmade. And the food is not processed like it is here either. The women cook 24/7! lol Trump is a piece of shit. He dk what it's like at all in Mexico. I can't speak Spanish, but my in laws had the mole and horchata when we got there .. we got along right away!

Thanks .. I wish many more people could hear my story, and much more in detail and maybe they wouldn't be so selfish, conceited, arrogant, materialistic, or worried about status. Leon is where they make shoes. I saw the Nike factory downtown! So many people work 10-12 hours a day just for a few peso's making those fancy Jordan's and Air Max that everyone here will pay over $100 for. Yes, Nike's are the best, but some people buy tons of them just to show off. It's not about what you got, it's about who you are as a person basically. I had a great time even tho Idk much Spanish cept the cuss words and basic stuff.
Do you know what Las Posada is? I was there basically the whole month of December and they would go to a different neighbors house every night and bring some food and talk a little. They said it was something they do before Christmas.
