What are the best and worst states for workers comp benefits, rules and regulations? Example: If you're hurt severely in New York would the same injury be less or more impactful in another state like Massachusetts? Who has a better process, payments, statutes, settlements etc? Thanks Rex, your doing an admirable job giving people FREE advice ✌🏽♥️
Im a police officer and I injured my knee and completely tore my ligaments in my ankle back in January due to a on duty incident. I’ve been off of work and in therapy since then. I just recently had surgery 4 days ago. I will continue therapy after my post op appointment. How much realistic can I be compensated and what can be the time frame for things to settle?
It's been 10 years for me on work comp 3 IME doctors 6 physical therapist sessions none work 2 kneecap replacements 6 injections in my back 8 injections for my facet injury sciatica now my other knee is hurting now they're talking about fusing my lumbar 10 years of oxycodone, hydrocodone opioids, Gabapentin, Flexeril, Belle buca patches masking relief my life is a trash can!!!
I did a deposition and was asked did I file a workman’s comp claim? I answered no,I reported it to the nurse and several other supervisors. Isn’t the employer who’s supposed to initiate a workman’s comp claim? In the hand book it said report it to a supervisor,Alabama labor law said report it to a supervisor! But I was told I said the wrong thing and I should just settle because they’ll get summary judgment in their favor! 🤷🏾♂️
My worker’s comp case was denied because of untimely notifying my agency. Was hurt on the job , all medical records stated truthful. Now I have to do surgery, nothing from my agency’s insurance. I have to use my medical insurance to cover costs. After this work related injury, am I eligible to file for disability? I haven’t filed for disability. Was injured October 2023. Any advice? Ty
Wondering if my work injury was due to the employer not adequately staffing caused my injury if this is brought up in my workers comp case? I’m a RN on a rehab unit
The general guidelines remain the same. They allow approximately one year for you to reach maximum medical improvement, but it is not a hard and fast rule. The length of your case generally runs alongside the length of your healing. Sounds like a bad accident. I hope you get better soon. If you have any other questions, please feel free to give me a call at 212-406-8989.

There is really no way for me to answer that question without knowing more details about your case. Do you have a lawyer? If you want to talk about your case, give us a call at 212-406-8989. Good luck, my friend.
There is a wide spectrum of actions a Judge may take if a carrier fails to attend a hearing. They could take action on the case and make decisions on outstanding issues. They could penalize the carrier. They might also just note the record and adjourn to a later date. It really depends on the circumstances.
