Best headlights I ever drove with were a 2014 f150 limited stock HID lamps. They are a 3500k warm white light but phenomenal performance in all weather. My eyes at least I get no benefit from led I have the sylvania H13 bulbs I find that 5000k cool white light is really bad in fog or rain. Would be cool to see you nerd out on headlights now. I put a 10” light bar on my ‘14 f150 in the bumper gap. Wired the relay with a switch to the high beams so it’s nice to just shut down the brights with a flick. I miss the old floor dimmer switch lol.
Hey Rich, I have only recently joined the channel and have enjoyed most every video I've watched so far. I have a 2015 F-150 super-cab Lariat with the 5.0. I have always preferred the look of the led headlights, but mine didn't come with them. I decided to treat myself and got Morimoto XB LED headlights (at a great deal by the way). They do a great job, and I think they really dress up the way the truck looks. I still have to tweak the aim, but haven't had anyone 'flash' me that they are too high, or issues with the rain or snow reflecting the light back at me, so I guess I should leave well enough alone. Anyway I just wanted to tell you that you are doing a great job on the channel. Thanks for all the tips, tricks, and amazing info. Keep up the great work, and to quote a cool guy I know of "Be Blessed"
I’m going to put some LEDs on my truck. I’ve been watching videos. I can say every video I seen and I was thinking why do they put the cap back on if it has a little fans but you showed the best part of the installation and a lot of the other videos they go from the firewall I’m Gotta take my whole headlight out so I could clean. Thanks
Appreciate it. I have a 2015 F-150 that's a Lariat trim and my dad has the same but he was missing the LEDs so I've ordered the LEDs and the fog lights too. I'll be installing next week. I'll give you an update when done.
Have you seen led lights causing Electric issues? I did install some led lights in my truck but the check engine light came up and didn't go away until I removed the led lights
I’ve always replaced lights through the wheel well. Seems much easier. Turn the wheel to one side, three screws and a push pin and the liner pulls back.
@@FordBossMe not sure I follow. I’ve replaced all of my lights. 3 screws and a push pin and you barely peel back the wheel well liner and you can easily reach up. Takes about 2 minutes per side and there are no parts to remove or align after. Just putting out an other option. My 2017 EcoBoost has very pliable wheel well liners, I’m not sure if the 5.0 is the same. Either way, great looking truck you have.
Don't know if the 2019s are different but when I change my headlight bulbs I just took out the inner fender well pulled it back and reached in there and pulled the bulbs out took me about 2 minutes
Cool deal... also had a water leakage problem from the vents on the backside of the cab that I popped out and then silicone back in. Is it worth taking truck in for the brake recall?
Great videos sir. Could you please make a video explaining how to fix a loose ebrake of the Mustang 2015 and up models, since that seems to be a common issue... thanks
Go under the car and follow the cable to where it goes through the floorboard. There's an adjustment on the cable. Its either a 12 or 13. Turn it until it takes up the slack. If its rusted, spray some penetrating oil the adjustment and let it sit for a little while before you do it.
Noice!! I've been thinking of upgrading to something like this myself just been a little leary of the led headlights but I guess I could always pull'em out if I didn't like them. Excellent video! 😎👍👍💪💪🤙
howdy its looking good you got the good ones i got a set for 20 bucks on eBay I had 3 burn out in an hour lol next time will get some like yours with the fan
Are you going to try that Peak all makes and models coolant in that truck? Or just stick the yellow P-OAT motorcraft coolant once you flush out the current OAT coolant.
Just installed the extended light dust covers in 83mm size and it solved the "water condensation" problem I was having cause of ford oem top rubber boot have a slight cut in rubber to make it fit. The new extended rubber covers slip over everything for a tight fit. works great.
PnP LEDs do not belong in halogen headlights. The create light scatter and do not have more distance. People think they are bright because the foreground is more intense and because our eyes are more sensitive to the color spectrum 5-6000k LEDs produce. If you live in a snowy area, this is even worse. They won’t melt snow build and the light reflects off the snow making it harder for you to see.
I do respect what you have to say I'm just iver debating and arguing with people about this and we have state laws that allow this and if setup properly is better than the dull out of date yellow halogen lights
If you do it’s H13 hi/lo bulb and get resistors or you will get feed back on low beam through the high beam and the high beam indicator on the dash will illuminate dimly. I’ve tried several different brands and prices and was never happy with the results. Good luck
You look up the part numbers for the bulbs in your vehicle and match them to the new ones. Bulbs like this have generic part numbers. A 9005 is always a 9005 regardless of brand. Its not a Ford part number.
I change the LED to LEDs, and now the trailer switch comes on and off. Do you know any way to fix this condition it connects and disconnects when I use the break or turn signals
If you are dealing with aftermarket parts, you may not have the right replacement. I've seen this before. The company that makes the lights may not have tried them on all the year, make and models they list as compatible. Try a different brand or just get OE parts if they make them.
Nice job Rich, 👍 so headlight adjustment nowadays is just up and down there's no left right?. Mine still have up and down left right on my 98 Jeep. Later bro don't blind nobody. ☺️🤗🙏. 🇺🇲 Old fart from Southern California 😎
Great video. As an early Christmas present to my family I did the "Amazon LED Upgrades" to all their vehicles. The last 2 weeks have been this same exact work. I only have 4 cars left to upgrade. LED conversions are now quality stuff at the right price to make the conversions. I wondered WHY this work has to be such a pain in the grass to change bulbs, why? Maybe with new "forever" LED bulbs the needs for easy service won't be important. I am a nerdy engineer at an automotive OEM. Maybe 5% of the engineers are capable of R&Ring headlights ...and many more claim to be car guys and girls. The "girl boss"' ones cannot do squat on cars, but they are so sure of themselves. One girl boss that knows it all had a TPMS light on ...and didn't know what it meant. She looked it up online ...and started crying. She is a girl boss that knows it all about cars ...and didn't know how to air up her tires or change out a flat. Yay, All Girls' Garage? I aired up her tire, found the drywall screw, pulled it out with dykes, plugged it on the car, and got her back in business. ...Her spare tire was at 12 psi, no 12V air compressor. This is the quota hire carp we have to deal with at the OEMs. We are doomed. Sadly, more but not most of the boys at the OEM can do the same thing. In the lab, 95% of the techs can do that work. I keep the resuce tools and common parts in the vehicle. A couple months back an older F-350 diesel had a tie rod adjusting sleeve break, rusted out. In my SUV I had the cordless tools, hand tools, torch, and supplies to splint the tie rods together enough to get the F-350 off thr road and into a parking lot. Angle iron cut with a 5" cordless grinder with 2 muffler claps was good enough to get it off the road and into a parking lot. 2 hours later I had the tie rod adjusting sleeve replaced along with a tape measure alignment. By skill and some luck, the truck was 100% perfect on the alignment rack. I was a filthy rat with 20+ year old chassis grease in my hair, but the F-350 was back in service for $30. Most engineers strugglr with headlight replacements and changing a flat tire. Others can do an internet quality pad slapping brake job. I wish more engineers were competent to do automotive work. How can they get the experience? I will admit that I dreaded changing the light bulbs, what a pain in the grass.
Just a heads up. You might wanna mount the Driver(Ballast) outside of the headlight housing. The driver can get hot, around 136F Degrees. Idk if those small slots you cut out will be able to deal with the LED Fan and the Driver. The LED can also get up to around 126F Degrees. Another thing, make sure the leds on the unit are facing horizontally in the housing. They look like they can only go in one way with the tabs, but some LED Headlights can be rotated to adjust for that. The reviews on those aren't bad for being on the lower budget end when it comes to LED Headlights tho.
I’ve had excellent customer service and products through Headlight Revolution. They have their YT channel where they test a variety of lights and housings for LEDs and HID bulbs.
