- Thargoids have begun an onslaught invasion of humanity last week, with many systems falling under Thargoid control. Stations are under attack and need anti-xeno pilots to assist in defending stations from Thargoids long enough for civilians to escape the invasion. This station, Fozard Dock has come under fire and is one of the last ports in the system which hasn't been abandoned. Soon, the system may come under complete Thargoid control. It's up to the community of Elite Dangerous to respond to the Thargoid threat.

Also, today I learned that watching a video of Thargoid combat in the background while flying through Thargoid territory is a bad idea. Hearing a shutdown field neutralizer in the video results in a moment of panic in game!
WOW! now you can actually battle at a stations!!!. This is totally cool
reminds me of the old Elite Dangerous trailer where ships battle outside a station. Maybe we will start seeing pirates/wars against stations by enemy pilots now

The scouts yes, the actual interceptors pay very well.
I've been in an instance with ~5 other commanders, those shard cannons and plasma chargers shred them so fast that the next heart will be exerted and almost destroyed before the shield comes up from when the last heart was destroyed
I’m in zero shape to combat thargoid a directly. I’m hoping to outfit a ship to assist with efforts wherever possible.
Great video! Also with the new cz, you can enter the station before requesting docking. really helps getting into cover before that menial task.

I know it's a bit late to comment on this, but it was a blast to watch. I recently returned, and am eager to get involved in the war against the Thargoids. Although, I -am- curious.. how did you get that HUD color? It looks sick as hell, and much better than the default orange we have. I'd love to know!

What's your outfitting? How can you take do many hits? I just build my AX Krait and gave it a first try with some scouts with not so good results. Your shard cannons seem to have a very decent range too. Mine are turreted and can't barely make a shot actually happen. I should go fixed I gess.

You can get it from any engineer who does beam lasers, I used Broo Tarquin

curiocity question: when interceptor deploys it's shield (that depletes over time anyway), could it be worth to delay attack on it and in meanwhile attack other interceptors? by the time shield goes off, several other aliens could lose a heart
Well that's pretty much a no brainer if you really want to put in the work but you got to also focus on the pulse and lighting they shoot its basically a hitscan . Also he is trying to shoot a video to show it off not necessarily going min max

don't have the build in this video anymore, but s.orbis.zone/l_or this build from AXI is what I used, swapping cargo, AFU and repairs for hull, and replacing gauss for salvation shard cannons and a cold beam laser.

Are you flying without flightassist completely? You're very skilled, what does your setup look like? Do you use a HOTAS?
Usually only fly without flight assist for combat manoeuvres or if i’m feeling it. I prefer mouse and keyboard as it gives more precision, but use a X56 hotas for chill gameplay.

Keep in mind that this is a very advanced build and will take quite a few hours of grinding. You’ll need to unlock the engineers, getting them to grade 5, and getting the materials.
I recommend starting off by killing scouts in AXCZs as they can be done with a easy ship build, then gradually unlocking engineers for more advanced builds.
If you want to destroy interceptors, you should at least unlock guardian gauss weapons, then head to AXCZs and let the interceptor focus on the NPC ships. Let them exert the heart and then you move in and snipe the heart, then quickly gain some distance as interceptors can quickly cripple an unengineered ship.
Meanwhile, in Legacy solo I'm raking it in...
At this point i wonder why they didnt mass produce antixeno weapon and put it in every port💀

The community needs to step up it's game if we want to win, I'm building a krait mk 2 for thargoid hunting currently.
I'm still debating on wether I use the gauss cannon or shard cannon, which should I choose?
If you're gonna go with Shards, make sure you get the pre-engineered ones from Prospect's Deep in Mbooni (?) I believe. Or maybe that was for be pre-engineered heatsinks...
Either way, find Azimuth Biotech'a home system, it's in there. They modified it, they sell it.
Gauss scale better into the tougher interceptors, but the shards are substantially easier to learn and use, especially if you switch sight mode to Trailing.
If you're starting off, I recommend the modshards first, and then optionally move into gauss if you want.

not anymore unfortunately, swapped to an ax chieftain and turned the krait into a multipurpose AX craft

These shard cannons are the Salvation modified ones, they need to be acquired from tech brokers at Glorious Prospect on Mbooni. Mbooni requires a permit which you can get by getting allied rank with Azimuth Biotech, which I got by going to LHS 1163 and doing RES site bounty hunting.

Surprisingly it actually doesn't take long to get your ship to a point where you're comfortable in going into these station defence instances, most of my engineering is only done up to tier 2 with 3 being the max, and I've only engineered SOME things being my thrusters, power plant/distributor and fsd.
Getting those things done also only took me a couple of days^
I was originally doing this in a fer de lance but tried out the Krait Mk II and it feels a LOT better, more because I feel like I can withstand much more damage.
I keep finding myself just going "okay 1 more interceptor and I'll back out" but 1 turns into 5 into 10 and so on. I think the credit payouts for what is (to me) much more engaging gameplay than mining or trading is what has me struggling to leave.

Damn wish thargoids were still invading on console but they gutted that system and removed incursion and ax czs as well nothing upsets me more is them dropping us them uping the cap on ax hardpoints and making ax more fun
How come your ship had no shields?
Shields aren't very useful against Thargoid attacks. Unlike human ships, they deal absolute damage not kinetic or thermal, meaning shields won't have any benefit over hull reinforcements in terms of added protection. Corrosive attacks also go straight through shields, so they're not very useful unless they're in a ship like the Cutter that can be a shield tank.

@@Neutronic01 did you use 4*2A engineered shard cannon? I found myself using too much power, the Low emission power plant didn’t work out for me

@@nullpointerexception1685 I refitted the Krait to replace the flak launcher with another shard and power is fine for me. Have you tried putting the Monstered experimental on the power plant? It should probably give enough juice, but you could also try disable non-essential systems like the cargo hatch, AFMUs and limpet controllers (since repairing is easy now)

Maybe 1-2 hours of grind but i usually get 15-28 million for pirate hunt missions in Ross 775 (if those planets are community names the guy who named that is a monster, Ross 775 ABCD 3C)
You would think by now people would understand to better protect against EMP's and other forms of technology disability.
Also, if I do decide to play this game. I'm going to mine and research tech before completely remaking my ship into an actual warship, or have another ship with nothing on it, or in it for me to use mainly for combat.

It POs me that I can't get right into this stuff. You need elite xp (to buy certain weapons) and engineered weapons etc just to fight these. The devs basically shutout most of the noobs out of battling these off. And just watching this through you have to be good at landing and taking off from the station as you'd probably get killed auto landing at that station.

I do feel bad for new guys just getting into this. Hell I've been playing for a little over a year and I am totally unprepared for this scenario. The only reason I can help much at all is I grinded for the cutter and now use it to run refugee evacuations.
@@jonathonsilbaugh2833 Yeah. I have money to get stuff however most of the stuff requires research and missions to get. The steep learning curve of this game is keeping me from really diving into it. SC took me weeks to get into and I think ED is even worse. I need a few days and will try to outfit something to battle these.
