Fighting the Thargoid Titan and Glaive - Elite Dangerous

After Update 15 of Elite Dangerous, it was discovered that at the centre of each Maelstrom, lies a hulking Thargoid Titan. Each of these massive vessels acts as a repair centre for the Thargoid forces and creates Interceptors, Scouts and the new Thargoid Glaives, fast hunters that patrol the Titans. I'm going to attempt to fight it.

Was awesome to see that its happening something FINALY to the atmosphere or feel to the game, its almost up to par with Freelancer Discovery mod when you went into nomad space or randomly jumped in a rebel wormhole.

Is getting in there a death sentence though ? I notice a lot of players just let themselves get destroyed once they messed up with the Titan for some time. Maybe it's harder to get out of the Maelstrom ?

I watched a video recently where someone tried to sneak in through the same way the interceptors enter while he had both green and blue relics and ended up getting launched out at 4.5km/s in a Corvette, so that's one way out i guess, lol

The caustic is only bad outside the Titan's area. I usually just eat up the rebuy since there's nothing I need to grab out of the Maelstrom, but, yeah you can always shoot yourself out of the Interceptor hole and ride the wave out of the Maelstrom

it take a LONG time to get out of there, not to mention more caustic damage. That thing will mass lock you for atleast 150KM.

@@Neutronic01There are cargo items to collect around the Titan, getting out is straightforward… keep boosting away from the Titan, using repair limpets to build up hull a bit if required, then wait for the big pulse (gives you one encoded material)… high wake to nearest safe system👍🏻 Take corrosion resistant 4E Cargo Rack as well

One thing Im curious about is what I kleep doing to get its attention, first time I was there I wandered for like 15 minutes before I got a missile alert, then the next time it happened right away, last time I was there for a few minutes before turrets started firing, it just seems so random.

How did you get your heat down to near zero while fighting the Titan? It barely seemed to build up at all, it stayed so low for so long

Combination of low emissions power plant, thermal vent beam laser and silent running, while also keeping power usage down to a minimum.

keyboard and mouse in this video, gives more precision and control over hotas imo
for chill gameplay i usually use an x56
