The sounds from this battle sound like are straight from a sci fi horror movie space battle from hell. Just put on some headphones and listen. It is truly a masterpiece.

First time I found out there were aliens they absolutely destroyed me.

@@legendgamer676 Uuh the guardians were able to communicate with the thargoids but they still didnt give a shit. They even learned their bug language and the thargoids didn't want to work together. Then they went extinct
@@legendgamer676 Doubt so, Thargoids are pretty invasive. Even during the first contact with Thargoids, most ships were snatched out of FSD and destroyed.

After all the heat damage you took, your internals must have literally been on the edge of breaking down.
The ambiance and sound engineering alone are superb. But the music is incredible! I have my gripes with fDev but God damn did they get as close to perfection as possible with sound design.

In the 1980s Elite, I used to purposefully jump from star system to star system because there was something like 1 in 20 chance you'd get intercepted by the Thargons.
I'd focus all effort on the Thargon mothership because once that's destroyed, the Thargoid fighters would be disabled and you could collect them via your fuel scoop and sell the "alien artefacts" for a small fortune. It was the best way to make money in the original version.
I never knew there was an original version of the game. I'm glad the game was able to bring to life to the classic.
wonder if odyssey is going to let us meet these guys outside of their ships. according to lore they are insectoids. imagine fighting a squad of giant bugs on foot

Thargoids turn hostile when you fly really close to their ship for too long. He did that to be able to scan it
@@CdrSonan Don't they get pissed off when you scan them?
First, he got way too close, then ignored the Thargoids warning to back off, and finally even deployed his weapons. He basically did everything he could possibly do to make the Thargoid mad. (So yeah - he was definitely the attacker here.) If you do neither of those things, they just have a look at you with their "scanning tentacles" and move on. They may bump your ship once while turning, but only lightly and without doing any damage.

I would love to fight a Thargoid, but I would only ever do it once. And I will not go through the grind to outfit my corvette with one of the loadouts you need just to fight a Thargoid if I am only ever going to do it once.
This shit should be like 50,000,000 credits split between however many players were in the battle at the very least.
My thinking as well. They are nice and all, but no way in hell am I going to grind paydirt for hours on end, grind rank and grind for engineering just to fight some thargoid
When you're used to fihgt thargos, that's a nice income. I eat a cyclop every morning for breakfast ;)
Honestly once you know what you’re doing they’re pretty easy, and for some reason $2mil is a lie, it says that but you actually get 8. And I’d say I could kill one every 15 minutes or so while going back to repair and restock. And that’s in a krait mk 2 only partially engineered but with guardian tech

As long as you have the right equipment coupled with a bit of know how Cyclopses arnt too difficult.But they must not be under estimated they are still incredibly Dangerous if especially being new to AX.

God I remeber years ago I got intercepted by a thargoid and I had no idea what they were. I had only just heard the name. This was the most terrifying thing in the game for me :D I barely got out alive.

what are these yelow lines he touches your ship whit at the beginning?
Some sort of energy tendrils, they do this to you when they first interdict you and steal the cargo you’ve taken from their worlds/equipment. In battle it seems to disrupt your systems like an EMP.
It’s impressive to think that they use these tendrils to transmit matter into energy and reconvert it to their possession.

this is an older video. theyve been constantly pumping up bounty values since then. theyre still not great but getting better.

It took many fights, deaths and retreats to get it right. Some people can take on the stronger versions by themselves too.
That was a hell of a fight cmdr o7. One question though. Why you never boosted your engines so that you could avoid some of the attacks?

I love Elite´s audio so fucking much. There is listerally nothing like that.
What happens if you don't attack it? Does it eventually attack first?
There is a chance that they will attack you, or they will leave you alone. If you get to close to it, it will become hostile. Thargoids also will attack you if you are holding any thargoid cargo and you don't surrender said cargo.
I just hope the guardians wake up. Image the battle

why was all your power in systems?
Cjx0r systems regulates heat and shield replenishing. It’s always important to charge systems
If I was fighting an enemy capable of shutting down my power delivery systems and turn me into a sitting duck I'd probably make sure they got as much juice as they could drink.
When you have full power in systems it actually makes your shields about 2x more powerful. Little known important fact
Does not seem like you were actually trying in the fight. More of you were trying to make the fight seem more difficult and tense for you.
