    A good Maelstrom to farm is Tanaris (Hyades Sector FB-N b7-6) - it is very close to the primary star, reducing the number of interdictions you should expect. If you have at least 23ish Ly jump range you can also make it to and from a safe system in just 1 jump at time of writing.

      I use synthetic to mitigate the 90% hyperdictuon chance and save fuel. You can call rats outside the cloud safely. If undetected you can hide at the top of the Titans inside the spikes. And to leave a maelstrom safely, relog

    After watching your vids and playing Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, X4, Space Bourne etc it's hard not to be amazed at how far PC gaming has come. Then you throw in Game Glass, Tobii eye tracking, track IR, camera head tracking, VR for even more realism. Can only imagine where things will be in a couple more years. Awesome.

    Great video! I use a Dolphin with 2,800 hull that idles at 14% heat and 2 TV beams will bring me to zero very fast. It also boosts to 590 m/s and is so small and maneuverable, even when getting shot at by Thargoids, they mostly miss me :)
    Also be aware of the scouts when getting interdicted - the last update made them more aggressive and do considerably more damage. Hopefully this will get fixed.

      @@sosborn1000 I think perhaps they might be using a bigger power plant with G5 low emmissions and thermal spread, the last little bit comes from having a power plant with very low usage (hence why you don't want a small one). Also, bear in mind that using your thrusters generates heat - if you turn FA off you can coast along at full (non-boost) speed with idle heat.

    Thanks as always Astro. Your videos are always a great place to start, and then we can try our own builds and come up with new tricks. The view flying close to a Titan is just amazing (especially on my 49" ultra wide monitor). Must be similar in VR. Worth going there just to look around. I hope FDev comes up with a lot more gameplay around these Titans. They are a work of art.

    heat sinks aren't necessary, the heat from the pulse is high but it drops pretty quickly by itself on most normal ships. I find, especially if you are running a medium ship with only 4 utility slots, to run 2 caustic sinks, as well as the usual scanner and pulse neutraliser. it just makes navigation more comfortable. you can also supplement the cold running with engineering and other such tricks

    I feel like the next step is: in 3 months, we will find out how to go inside and dock. We disembark to find the atmosphere inside is caustic and you can only survive for 5 minutes, just long enough to get to see and fight a few Thargoid foot soldiers, collect a handful of new materials and get some new scan data, which will eventually allow you to engineer a combat suit that can survive longer inside. I know it sounds crazy, but Starfield launches in September and they're going to have to do something major to keep people from jumping ship for several months. Thoughts?

  • @julekmeister
    @julekmeister Год назад +1

    I have my doubts that those materials will be used for unlocking special modules, like with Guardian tech. It's because titans appear to be motherships of the invading Thargoid fleets. So once the invasion is over they will either be destroyed by us humans, they will escape or crash disabling them. That is, if we win the war. If we lose then I suppose it's game over, man. Either way, if the titans disappear, then the materials go with them making those potential modules unavailable for majority of players which is not a good dev decision. So either the titans are here to stay or those materials will spawn outsite of the motherships (like crashsites).

    I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way but I think videos like this are the reason games are dying. No point in playing and experiencing the game when someone shows you everything in a video. I miss the days before the internet knew everything. A time when you would enjoy a game and it's discoveries on your own. Made finding things so much more fun not knowing if you're the first. Now you just RUclips it and bam now you know everything about the game. I've actually ruined games for myself by researching the game prior then buy it play it and realize I've already seen all the cool stuff in videos and there's really no reason to play...

      @drgonzo762 Год назад +1

      @Neo oh absolutely, I'm not refuting that fact. I'm just kinda reminiscing about finding things in a game before the internet was as incorporated as it is now. Finding an Easter egg in a game or beating a game without any outside help just you and the game manual in your room. Just a feeling that I wish some younger gamers could experience. I mean even 20 25 years ago there were strategy guides. Just different in the speed at which information could be obtained. Made discoveries a bit sweeter in my opinion. But there's an argument to be made that allot of modern games, this one included. Would be nearly impossible to play and experience 20 -30 years ago, without information like this being available. So I can see from both sides.

    Yet another how to that doesn't show how to. We don't have the Caustic Sink Launcher. Nor do we have the Thargoid Pulse Neutraliser (although that seems easy to unlock). We want to see someone unlock these items without having them on their ship. Showing us how easy it is to hang around when you have a caustic sink launcher isn't much help when we are trying to unlock a Caustic Sink Launcher, without one.

      As for the CSLs you have to interact with the Caustic Generators. Research limpet for the tissue samples and destroy them for the corrosive mechanisms (recommend having a >3km weapon range).

D2E@ hasn't done one on Caustic Sinks. Most of the player base does not have a Caustic Sink and tootling around with a Caustic Sink having not done a video on the Caustic Sink doesn't really help much.
