A good Maelstrom to farm is Tanaris (Hyades Sector FB-N b7-6) - it is very close to the primary star, reducing the number of interdictions you should expect. If you have at least 23ish Ly jump range you can also make it to and from a safe system in just 1 jump at time of writing.

After watching your vids and playing Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, X4, Space Bourne etc it's hard not to be amazed at how far PC gaming has come. Then you throw in Game Glass, Tobii eye tracking, track IR, camera head tracking, VR for even more realism. Can only imagine where things will be in a couple more years. Awesome.
Great video! I use a Dolphin with 2,800 hull that idles at 14% heat and 2 TV beams will bring me to zero very fast. It also boosts to 590 m/s and is so small and maneuverable, even when getting shot at by Thargoids, they mostly miss me :) Also be aware of the scouts when getting interdicted - the last update made them more aggressive and do considerably more damage. Hopefully this will get fixed.
@@sosborn1000 I think perhaps they might be using a bigger power plant with G5 low emmissions and thermal spread, the last little bit comes from having a power plant with very low usage (hence why you don't want a small one). Also, bear in mind that using your thrusters generates heat - if you turn FA off you can coast along at full (non-boost) speed with idle heat.
Thanks as always Astro. Your videos are always a great place to start, and then we can try our own builds and come up with new tricks. The view flying close to a Titan is just amazing (especially on my 49" ultra wide monitor). Must be similar in VR. Worth going there just to look around. I hope FDev comes up with a lot more gameplay around these Titans. They are a work of art.
Really appreciate this, thanks. I'm enjoying exploring here and if there's new collectibles with almost zero risk in collecting them, well you'll be missing out when they become needed later.
I'd turn night vision off if you're looking for coarse hull surfaces. They are a much brighter green that can be seen from a distance, but you lose that distinction with night vision on.
heat sinks aren't necessary, the heat from the pulse is high but it drops pretty quickly by itself on most normal ships. I find, especially if you are running a medium ship with only 4 utility slots, to run 2 caustic sinks, as well as the usual scanner and pulse neutraliser. it just makes navigation more comfortable. you can also supplement the cold running with engineering and other such tricks
Great video. It worked for me as far as gathering materials. But how do you deal with the inevitable Glaive attack without multicannons? I also took four enhanced AX multi-cannons and getting back out alive was still challenging.
I feel like the next step is: in 3 months, we will find out how to go inside and dock. We disembark to find the atmosphere inside is caustic and you can only survive for 5 minutes, just long enough to get to see and fight a few Thargoid foot soldiers, collect a handful of new materials and get some new scan data, which will eventually allow you to engineer a combat suit that can survive longer inside. I know it sounds crazy, but Starfield launches in September and they're going to have to do something major to keep people from jumping ship for several months. Thoughts?
I think Frontier doesn't care if people are involved with the game or not. If they were really worried about money, they would be better monetizing this game. They don't give a damn about this game anymore.
I wonder if the following will be added later on. Thargoid weapons for human ships Pilotable Thargoid ships Pilotable guardian ship other than drones Biomechanical space suits to pilot Thargoid ships New fps Thargoid weaponry Just a few ideas

Can you please do a video on the best order to grind for the modules and weapons needed for the Thargoid war. I'm getting fed up of flying to stations to buy stuff that mean I need to go do something else, for which I needed to grind to get another module to be able to do it, and now it seems I need to get meta-alloys from who knows where. Do Frontier think we all have fleet carriers full of this stuff? Why don't the tech brokers have a hover menu that shows where stuff comes from?
@@Sighman Yes. I was there bwteen the first, farmed mats with abrasion laser out of curiosity, and i am almost full. Not feeled grind. I more likely feel that it would be good to have a reason to go back. Probably there will be, but man it is so slow.
Why don't you advise pilots to acquire propulsion elements and sensor fragments from killing scavengers at crashed titans? It's far easier right now and you can build up a decent stock.
has any1 tried to use the pulse wave scanner not on THESE Titans... But on the ones crashed on the ground? I'll try that... And see where this leads. Probably nowhere... :D
I have my doubts that those materials will be used for unlocking special modules, like with Guardian tech. It's because titans appear to be motherships of the invading Thargoid fleets. So once the invasion is over they will either be destroyed by us humans, they will escape or crash disabling them. That is, if we win the war. If we lose then I suppose it's game over, man. Either way, if the titans disappear, then the materials go with them making those potential modules unavailable for majority of players which is not a good dev decision. So either the titans are here to stay or those materials will spawn outsite of the motherships (like crashsites).
