- Опубликовано: 1 дек 2022
- Showcasing what early-game players are capable of doing in Update 14 with a cheap ship, a little engineering, and focused help from other AX pilots. You will see the combat bonds pilling up fighting the Thargoid War in AXI Private Group.
These low-atmosphere conflict zones and burning planetary ports are just a glimpse of the new features added to Elite with this brilliant update.

I literally went from 1984 Elite to installing this two weeks before the Stargoid turned up, I'm floored, this is just insane.
So it's YOU they are after!
Yeah this shit looks intense! I might have to jump back in!
@@JollyFuchsia More likely after CMDR John Titor, that prick is a one man time anomaly.
You got lucky. There was nothing for a long time
This is literally the best sales pitch for ED that I've ever seen.
8:30 this is an amazing shot, the way everyone heads back to the city to defend it after defeating the bug was badass
2:08 *mid fire-fight* "when are the thargoids gonna show up?"
I Love How Videos Like This Make It Look So Easy Fighting Interceptors... Word Of Warning... If Your New To The Game, Fighting Interceptors Takes Skill And Lots Of Practice... Kiting, Cold Orbiting, F.A Off... These Are Tools You Need To Grasp Before Taking On Anything Bigger Than a Cyclops Variant... Along With a Finely Tuned Engineered Ship
Viper is still my favorite ship for bounty hunting, switched to a Vulture for Xeno Hunting but I see the Viper is still effective even in that role. Love to see other pilots using these, gg commander o7
You have inspired me to make a AX Viper lol... I'm impressed! o7 sir and good hunting
it's nice to see you can still take part in the game in an "affordable" ship
wait untill you see the "time" bill and then it's prob. one of the more expensive ships you can have.....
Nice work dude
As always, I have a lot of respect for the Viper commanders out there. o7
I've been tearing shit up at Farkas. So much damn fun. And it just goes and goes. Nice build! Well done!
The viper is my go to for sniping scouts
You can bind the SD Field Neutralizer to a key (I use middle mouse) - look in Controls > Ship > Flight Miscellaneous
YOu can then free up secondary fire so you can alternately fire the shards.
You can bind keys for multiple secondary utilities so you don't have to keep switching modes.....
Why does it look so easy here and then I try and that chamomile ship looks at me and I see rebuy?
these players have engineered their ships so they run very cold and it looks like thargoid interceptors and scouts have real difficulty targetting cold vessels.
@@CrazyBite2007 that's exactly right the thargoids actually can't lock you as a target if you are below I think 15% heat or have silent running
If only there was a simultaneous Ground War at these spots, the promise of Odyssey's "Theatre of combat" would have been realized.
You're so right
Hopefully, we get that.. I am very much waiting for that.
i would go on the ground an fight
There's animation for ground thargoid
Awsome!
Great to see Thargoids destroyed!
Keep up the great work ...07 Commander!👍
I'd love to participate in this but after 2 years ob absence I don't feel like putting 2000 hours of grind to get the upgrades required.
Dont need any
@@YamiPoyo So I can now just go and buy AX gear?
@@maniacos2801 ye
Returning from the black to help in the war effort 07 keep
Up the good fight!
viper with shard canon Nice should put those on my corvette
The viper is an all around good ship and possibly my favorite next to the krait MK2
man i really want to get this going on odssey but im worried just getting all the ingredients to upgrade ill be out there fighting with the bois soon !!
Fuckin based commander, keep going o7
O7 CMDRs!
I support the space troops.
pretty epic
Looks amazing, just wish I could experience playing it on console
Even of you don't play today on a PC, copy your account. You'll win a free elite on pc and it's a copy... Won't lose your progress on console.
@@DenisVVFernandes The account copies have ended, they will do another chance to transfer sometime in 2023 but it wont be a full copy, just the most important things (probably just credits, ships and things bought with arx is my guess)
I play on pc with a xb1 controller and it's damn near the same as console
@@hacksawhuck what does your mapping layout look like? I struggled to use a HOTAS style rig and never even considered a controller. I've been on the keys since lol
@@blacksunwhirlpool I use the default key mapping, and it matches what I had playing on xb1
Nice job!
Would you recommend new players do stuff like this right out the gate ? I mean seeing how much it pays it might as well be worth a shot
Been playing elite for years and getting Ingo engineering has taken me months to make any progress let alone guardian tech or anti xeno defenses/weapons. But go for it! You'll just need to grind for forever first
I mention early game and not right at the start because I think players should at least experience the Guardian ruins, and unlock gauss canons to get started. But yeah, you can jump into Open or PG with others and get paid for tagging the goids with human AX weapons too. There's plenty of bonds to be made!
Not recommended at all. You will empty your bank account in no time.
A 9-minute video is not a realistic depiction of what will happen in 99.99% of regular cases.
You don't need to grind super hard to participate, but you should be at least pretty decent at combat, and preferably have an A rated combat ship. Don't feel like you have to do the whole guardian/AX grind.
Edit: have been doing the AX czs recently with a partially engineered (highest grade 3) Krait Mk II, has been fine, much easier than I expected it to be.
HahahahHaha... Good Luck, With No Engineers Unlocked At Grade 5 You'll Be As Useful As Trying To Use Gasoline To Put Out Fire
I love the looks of the Viper, especially the Mark IV, but it rapidly becomes an ineffective, time-wasting ship, further along in the game. Everything you can do with it, you can do faster, better, more effective with other ships. I can for example kill large ships with it, but it takes much more time than when I am flying a medium vessel, like the Python, or even a Vulture.
That is why, approx. 5 years ago, I asked for a larger medium version of the Viper Mark IV. It would be so cool to be able to use that beautiful Mark IV hull design, but on a much more useful vessel.
They could call it the Viper XL.
I have a Viper IV with pre-engineered guardian plasma chargers which I use occasionally just against Thargoid Scouts.
I could fly any other ship with any loadout you could think of, but I still fly the viper just for fun when I feel like it.
@@LukasBarina I had a few of those moments too. I think the Mark IV is one of the best looking hulls in the game, and I just wanted to use it more often.
But it turned out, for me, the Viper simply is too ineffective and time-wasting. I can't stand that.
I eventually just got annoyed, and parked it somewhere.
Agreed. I love my Mark IV.
Not a criticism on the video, but I just can't help always noticing how they got the flames wrong, every time I see them. Those buildings are supposed to be hundreds of meters tall, but the size and pattern / speed of the flames make them look a few meters tall at most, it's like I'm watching a center for ants.
As someone who has been struggling with Thargoids, can you share some tips with me? I came back to the update and had about a dozen engagements with bugs in my AX Krait Mk2, but aren't anywhere close to victory.
I'll admit, my flying skills are nothing short of atrocious, but my Krait is quite decent, with three Guardian gauss cannons and two flak.
Swap the Krait for a Chieftan if you're starting out with AX, much more maneuverable. Look up the AXI meta chieftain build and work with that. Attack cold with heatsinks, cook caustic with silent running. Lastly, repair limpets in builds. Why? If you have 3k hull and 16 5D repair limpets, you now have 9k hull.
Why every video i see shard cannon? is it Easy to get right now?
Are those standard shard cannons or the modified ones from Azimuth? Also interested in your ship build.
Modified shards from Azimuth, easy to get now. I'm running two s1 and one s2, just missing the thermal vent beam. The rest of the ship is hull rein. & guardian module reins.
Coriolis build added to video description.
@@GadnokBreakerofWorlds Where do you get the Azimuth shards now?
@@FreemanicParacusia planetary base in Mbooni. I got some a couple of days ago.
Been wanting to make a build like this for a while, but the god damn engineering just takes too long
If You Think Engineering a Viper Takes Too Long Then Your Not Ready For Fighting Interceptors In One
@@Zum1985 actually I was making it to fight scouts. I already fight interceptors in a corvette and FDL.
it's there a way to get gauss cannons faster than grind it ? want to fight, but not have ax guns !
You can fight Scouts with just regular weapons, you don't need to min/max like you're gonna solo Interceptors to help out.
question what engineered modifications i need for this build ur having on weapons etc ah nvm u alredy answering below, time to join the war
Could a similar build be effective on imperial eagle as well? I love how that ship looks compared to viper🤣
Depends On The Pilots Skill Level
The problem with the eagle is simply that is so fking squishy. You get looked at and you just blow up
whered you get those pre-engineered cannons at?
I got them from CGs but you can get them now in Mbooni. Permit offered in nearby systems.
modded shards?
can't even do shit in my anaconda with the best gear sold at stations . . . . this event is inaccessible to mid level players
Game name please!
you landed some nice shots but honestly the description is an oxy moron. "what early-game players are capable of doing in Update 14 with a cheap ship, a little engineering" ---If you are engineering, you aren't early game... period. Also this level of piloting and cold orbiting takes months of experience. A better example would have been a chieftan or vulture stacked with armor and AX guns. That's true early game. totally viable to participate with a group as well.
hate how you make it look so easy. im in a krate packed to shit with tech and im useless
People are wierd, getting so excited for some gameplay that has been in the game for years. Sure, goids can take over systems now, but... All the issues, all the grind, all the features that we've been requesting for years... Nah, all forgotten.
I bet they are still laughing ad FD, hitting the jackpot like this.
Lack of combat mechanics is what turns me off with this game. Basically you're chopped liver in any major combat engagement unless you have the beefiest ship available.
It's definitely not an "instant gratification" game, but I like that about it
@@shinyobsessed1271 it's not even "play for an entire year" gratification.
@@tylerstewart3181 yeah, not for everyone
so you leeched off the guys who did the 1 to 2 month grinds because watching you did not do very much
I wish the thargoids could invade the real world and destroy Frontier….
Sincerely,
A console gamer!
