Dukes of September is an amazing supergroup! 🤩 I hope you react more of them 🙏🏻
There was a tour quite a few years ago instigated by Donald Fagen called “New York Rock ‘n Soul Revue” and there were a bunch of artists included - Boz, Michael McDonald, Phoebe Snow, Charles Brown - one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. They did release an album of it, definitely worth listening to if you haven’t yet.
I have it on a cassette tape. I literally wore out the tape. Great recording......

Sooo smooth. Loved them handing off the chance to blow a bit from flute to guitar to that funky looking horn. Great seeing Donald and Michael sitting dutifully at their keyboards, knowing I'll hear a few, at least some by each of them. Cool combo indeed.

Steely Dan was not really a band. They had two guys and then the rest were session players. And it usually wasn't the same session players
