I listened to B B King as a white teenager, played by Randy’s Record Shop in Gallatin, TN. When my friends moaned over Pat Boone, I stayed in my room listening to BB, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Big Mama Thornton, so many I don’t remember them all. Those days are gone. Does anyone else remember? Thanks for this memory

Clapton, et al are sitting there pinching themselves...they still cannot believe they are in the presence of BB King, much less playing with him. Their 1st concept of music and motivation to play was the likes of the immortal, BB King!

After Eric Clapton, Robert Cray and Jimmy Vaughan (in case you don't know, he is Stevie Ray's brother, he played in The Fabulous Thunderbirds... check out "Tuff Enuff") played, I believe that was Robert Randolph who was tearing it up on steel guitar.
I love B.B., got to see him live in the '90's, but this was toward the end for him, not at the top of his game anymore. In his prime, he was sublime, truly awesome.

Yes, that is Robert Randolph on the pedal steel. If you want some fun, check out the Sawyer Brown's video of Paul Thorne's, Mission Temple Fireworks Stand; he just tears it up!

1976, I was 18, a friend and I were heading to the disco on Miami Beach.Across the street was the Marco Polo hotel. The had a sign that said BB KING 2.00 entry, 2 drink minimum. We went inside a small lounge with about 6 people more or less disinterested.BB King was alone on a small stage wailing. In between sets he sat at the bar with us and drank.

Amazing having that much talent on stage all at once. B.B. use to do an annual tour called B.B. Kings Blues Festival. He would take multiple other musicians and they would tour the Summer. The lineup changed over the years, but it was always a great time. Blues is probably my favorite of the genre's. It speaks to my soul more so than any other. I love it all, but the Blues just hits different.

B.B. King is arguably the King, of the Three Kings, with Albert and Freddie. These are the guys who took the newly created electric guitars and changed the world of blues, and then by doing so, made the music that eventually lead to rock and roll, and all that followed. Before The Beatles cut their first record deal, they were playing marathon gigs in Germany, playing this music. Playing the blues, is how they got so good at their instruments.

I was a 13yr old white girl who lived in a town named Cool, Ca. Population 296. I had a fabulous woman who was student teaching. She had raised her children then became a teacher, a great one as a matter of fact. She took myself and 7 other kids who were in a class of hers. She believed as smart as these other kids were the needed some cultural experience other than that small Northern California town so we made a trip to the San Francisco/Oakland Bay area. I myself had spent a lot of time in the city but these other kids not so much. We went to see 😊B.B.King and Ray Charles, I knew that night that this music was for me. I've never forgot the first time I saw Mr. King perform this song, it was incredible. My teacher was the best, her husband and herself were our chaperones. Those were the days!!!! Also...lol. he's sitting and singing at that level at his age. So he is the iron man of the blues along with being the king of the blues. Cheers polo! Good choice. The blues are the foundation of it all. Can't understand music imo deeply without this genre.

We saw him in concert with Bobby Blue Bland in the seventies in Chicago. A fun night for sure. This song was stretched across the United States on so many charts and will never be forgotten. BB and Elvis were buddies from Memphis. BB had it!

I saw BB with Buddy Guy about 10 years ago. Amazing. That old man was still as sassy as when he was young. He stopped the show, called up the lights and called out to this pretty blond thing that he was not so old that he wouldn't take her back stage. The show continued for 10 more minutes when he stopped the show again, called the lights and saw that girl still dancing. He said he'd put her over his knee then leave her satisfied.
It was a hell of a show.

BB King came back to my hometown Kalamazoo, MI every year and had a full house every time. Love him and his beautiful Lucille!❤

I was lucky enough to see him play a couple of times and he’s still my favorite blues guitarist. Joe Bonamassa is next on my list. He toured with BB King when he was 12 and if he’s not at the top of best living blues guitarists 2023 he’s close.
Riding With the King is an awesome album-BB King and Eric Clapton!
I really enjoyed seeing you react to BB King👍👍

I've gone to about 6.of BB King's concerts. He is my all time favorite artist. I met him in Biloxi, MS the year he turned 80. 1 of the casinos was sponsoring his birthday concert. Talked with him for about 15 minutes. Really nice guy. Plus i got his autograph ❤❤
