No one today is willing to pay the labor intensive costs behind these trades jobs, that’s the real issue. Today, everyone just scraps everything and buys new replacement parts or new items altogether. Unfortunately, these old trades professions can’t survive for this reason.

From someone that lost their dad this year, can I just say how awesome Tony is, hilarious with great energy and gets stuck in. Absolute Dad goals. appreciate him Matt. Much love from Dorset Uk.
Hi Matt, great video. The sight of the lead filling reminded me that in 1979 as part of my supervisory training I was in charge of the materials handling section of the Rolls Royce BIW (body in white)building at the Pressed Steel factory in Cowley, Oxford. It was said that each Rolls Royce body that left the plant for either Crewe or occasionally Mulliner Park Ward contained at least 76Lbs of lead. So the little bit you used is not going to make much difference. It was used to ensure that all door shuts were the right size and that all external joints filled like you did. Keep up the videos.

What a monumental task! That might have been one of the most labor-intensive chassis jobs ever done on RUclips and also on a Rolls Royce ever. Also impressive, the craftsmanship of the workshop there. Lead-work is one of the most difficult "lost" arts. But then again it's actually no surprise. .GB once had a huge car manufacturing industry. Important to make a distinction between this quality repair versus the old school cut / shuts. Matt is NOT changing the original engineering. The processing is different but he is using best practice. The result will be valuable.
Why do I feel like you don’t upload every week anymore. What have you done to make me keep checking if Mat Armstrong has uploaded a video and Iv missed it again 😂!!
I refresh my feed everyday 😭😂
@@PercyVilane-5 lol 😂 trust me bro I do the same.
True same here
And me! I start getting withdraw symptoms by Saturday.
The projects are becoming consistently more complicated, and more expensive. The fact that we're still getting long, high quality videos, just about twice a week, is still insane
Going to save this one and watch on the big telly!

Gonna have to do this as well now cheers 🥂
Mat You do great job with all these cars. I watch every films without breathe but U have only two eyes and I was doing the same thing 20:29 with cars and spend 2 days without my left eye because i did not have time to finded my glasses to grinding. Thanks to do dr it was only two days. Take care for yourself. Regards. Robert 🤜🤛
Your dad is the best ❤
PPE when grinding & sanding guys - especially lead! An air-fed system like 3M Versaflo is best. You only get one pair of lungs... ( great vid, BTW )
That's what I was thinking.. !
Circular saw in shorts. Scary.
This why I watch this channel ... not for the holidays or house tours the cars are what its all about for me. keep up the good work & stay humble bro. 👊
Oh man, just finished the Ben Collins Lancia vid and now treated to MORE Mat content? YES!
Even in a wrecked rolls I would listen to the song “Dupe - Mbappe” 😅
the craftmanship, determination and the dedication in fixing this Rolls is just awesome. Cannot wait to see it finish :)
It's in your blood. I take off my hat to you all from one car manufacturer's country (ger) to another. What a job. Jesus. Well done.
Mat you are a legend! The level of quality in your repairs is incredible!❤❤❤
Those welders are like surgeons. What an amazing join from what looked like an impossible task. Great post!! Just can't wait to see what colour you're going for!
You're using the wrong cutting disc on your grinder Matt!! You need to use a 1mm Inox disc to cut any strength metal cleanly! Small tip to you pal! 😁
Wow, move with the times mate, you can get hard metal cutting disks too, please apologise to the you tube world for this comment
1000+ cuts / 30x longer life
Solid metal body for extra safety
Retains diameter whilst in use
Metal max cuts a range of metal materials and lasts up to 30x longer than a standard abrasive wheel, featuring diamond cutting tips and a solid metal body for extra safety, this blade provides 1000+ cuts in metal material

Wow I bet you're real fun at parties
25:11 - We can't wait to see Boney Tony working on the next project 🤣
WOW! I'm in Cleveland, Ohio great work. I have not seen or heard of lead body work for over 50 years, since I was a kid. Excellent craftsmanship.
Now I completely understand why this video took so long nice job Mat!!🙌🏽
Who else been waiting for the Rolls Royce episode? 😢

I use to not be so keen on your vids as they use to give the wrong impression of the trade I love. It's really good to see you are working with panel beaters and painters and explaining the work in more detail as well as the costs. I get customers still thinking a respray is £500-£1000, will be done in 8h and win best of show at SEMA because its easy as they have seen it on RUclips.
Rashford definitely wasn't telling the truth about how fast he was going when he crashed that. And backed up by a driving ban for doing 104mph on the m60. 😂
Tony: I can't wait to enjoy retirement after spending my life as a mechanic!
Matt: Hold my BMX
Just watched your video on your history with jobs to getting your new house in May. Couldn’t be happier for you and your family. You work hard. You deserve it all. Congratulations. Love how much you and your dad laugh as you overcome challenges. Good luck in all your future ventures!
Love your videos dude
Been waiting! Let’s go🇿🇦
I thought I'll be the first South African to comment 😅 🇿🇦

I came across this project by chance. I've been watching every episode just to see the end result... Im not even a petrol head but these guys are very talented in what they do...great work
You used the wrong disc on the small grinder. You used a masonry disc instead of a steel 1
Seriously do you think these blokes are that dumb?? You need your Mum to ban you off yr phone for a few weeks.

They didn’t use a Masonry disc, it was a Mansory disc 😂😂😂
Stop arguing, it’s a Mansory disc obviously 🙄
Watching all the way from Yemen 🇾🇪
Amazing body work what a skill those lads got
Cutting a Roll Royce feel so wrong....
*Larry Burkett's book on "Giving and Tithing" drew me closer to God and helped my spirituality. 2020 was a year I literally lived it. I cashed in my life savings and gave it all away. My total giving amounted to 40,000 dollars. Everyone thought I was delusional. Today, 1 receive 85,000 dollars every two months. I have a property in Calabasas, CA, and travel a lot. God has promoted me more than once and opened doors for me to live beyond my dreams. God kept to his promises to and for me*
There's wonder working power in following Kingdom principles on giving and tithing. Hallelujah!
But then, how do you get all that in that period of time? What is it you do please, mind sharing?
It is the digital market. That's been the secret to this wealth transfer. A lot of folks in the US and abroad are getting so much from it, God has been good to my household Thank you Jesus
Thanks to my co-worker (Michael) who suggested Ms Susan Jane Christy
She gave me the autonomy I need to learn at my own pace and ask questions when I need to she’s so accommodating.
I’ve got to say it, you are my favourite RUclipsr and I honestly love watching your journey I’ve watched since the car park days ❤ proud of your bro hopefully you’ll inspire the next generation too

In my paper it said it was a “Cullinan”
Tony is always such a joy to see on the channel. First-class work and top-notch welding. Really well done.

Amazing job, I have a friend that is a painter and he has a guy that does this kind of work. I have seen a GTR that was cut in half to make one good one and the craftsmanship is so unreal I would never imagine making 2 bad cars into one car with no visual sign of previous body work. Labor of love.
An amazing episode of top-notch professionals making the seemingly impossible possible while having fun. Kudos!
Alot of crafts manship, years of experience and a ton of hard work has gone into this car and still needs work but congrats Mat on how far you've come, can't wait to see this car on the road
Better than anything on TV, thank you, one and all.
Amazeballs! You guys and legends! Kudos to the workshop 👌🏻
Hey Mat, I hope you'll see this and read it.
1st, I can not thank you enough for all the hard, smart, and genuineness of your work. You've reached millions of people all over the world, and you're changing people's lives -for good- of course!
2nd: You inspired me to buy a crashed car and rebuild as my personal daily driving car (2016 Subaru Legacy 2.5i, 1 year now, I've put around 28K miles on, and it runs very smoothly).
3rd: I think I have an idea of how much work one part could take, even for an experienced lad. The way you're going is lethal and could have some serious effects on your health. I don't want you to be in that position.
Please, do consider giving yourself and the team good balance. A 25-minute video might seem not too long, but if people understand how much time you'll need to put on it; they'll excuse you for not uploading for a while.
If you have to, or whoever you need it; trust me, mate, your health really truly matters the most.
This is the only joy that's left for me.....
Be safe, be well....
Greetings from the US to the whole team 🎉
Cheers 🍻
I love Matt's videos because half way through watching i'm like "nahhh i'd never do that, these guys are crazy!" and then they do it and it turns out amazing and i'm in awe of their motivation and determination! Keep it up lads!
Amazing craftsmanship! Never seen that lead work in the car industry. Must take some amazing skill. Hats off to them!
Your dad does heaps of the work bless him hes the man! 👍🤠🤘🎸🌳🏞️🌄
Your production and editing are simply awesome. Your most recent videos have been masterclass in storytelling. Keep up the great work 10M subs just around the corner
Absolute credit to you,dad and everyone involved bro.
Hell of a job!💥💪💯💥👏👏👏
Those body work guys are absolutely incredible, true craftsman
Your content is amazing but your editing skills are off the scale. The way you connect the stills, the voiceovers and background music is top notch. Please don’t ever let anyone else do it.
There's nothing on RUclips that interests me through 2024 rather than watching you rebuild this particular car. You are the best 👌
That lead filling is almost like a loveletter to the old Rolss'. Loving the build!
