I’m an iPad user, but in my opinion I never found stage manager useful, whereas DEX functions much more like an actual operating system found on desktop PCs. DEX is the winner to me .
Never ceases to amaze me that high end iPads still can’t implement multiple windows as well as my $100 Chromebook. I really don’t understand why Apple can’t come up with something better!

For your question at 8:18, in Dex, you can scroll down from the tablet (notifications, and touch the option) to turn it as a touchpad for the external monitor. Also, you don't have to turn on onscreen keyboard for typing. For any places requiring keyboard input, a popup keyboard comes at the tablet so you can use the tablet as a keyboard too.
I know I am super late to this party, but! I use the ViewSonic TD2423d monitor that has touch input. I use it with my S22 Ultra and the touch feed back works. It is so fun having a touch monitor.
The thing about dex is, it works on phones too. So samsung tablet it pretty much useless if you just want dex. Just get an Ipad and boom, you have both dex on your phone and stage manager on Ipad. Best of both worlds :)
The main thing that ipad has over dex is the ability to have multiple "desktops" that support several open apps that can be separate stages. And you can drag and drop them between the ipad and external screen. Ive been waiting on this kind of functionality from samsung for so long
@localblackman427 I just did it today with my phone on samsung dex. There's an option to integrate the mouse between the devices on samsung dex since you can use the other device as a mousepad. It's not hard to find. And you can drag and drop food directly from on device to another by accessing the files.

Regarding the wireless DEX feature, does Stage Manager offer a comparable alternative? While acknowledging the limitations and occasional lag associated with wireless DEX, it can still be suitable for basic tasks such as reading emails, browsing the web, and editing documents.
Don't get me wrong but androids have the worst chips ever yes dex is good and better than the iPad but still the snapdragon is so bad that even in this video it overheats 😂
Let me try to answer based on my experience and use case…let’s say I am watching RUclips and it’s playing on my monitor, then I use GoodNotes on my iPad display and I can write on it using the Apple Pencil. Hope that helps!

Ive never seen the overheating issue on my tab s8 ultra in dex as your setup. Is it posible you have an app on in the background thats bad for performance in general?
Glad to hear yours don’t overheat. I’m using same apps as I use in the iPad except for Chrome. I use Safari in my iPad and Chrome in the Tab S8. Do you think Chrome could be the cause of overheating?
@@MindyC It's definitely possible? If one tab open has something running in the background. Another app that's definitely caused me battery issues is google maps or instagram or facebook in the background. Have you checked your battery app usage under Settings->Battery and device care?
i have 3 question : 1) if i am watching movie streaming online or video coference or youtube is that possibe to hide or minimize those video with close that apps ? 2) Fb reel , RUclips shorts , Tiktok Live possible to use picture-in-picture ? 3) Opera Browser : lets you group tabs into separate workspaces and switch between groups with one click. Edge Browser : Vertical tabs allow you to move your tabs from the top to the side of your screen . Edge also can install extension too. For number 3 question : Safari and Chrome possible too do that ? Both Edge and Opera browser are dekstop version.
from my tests, dragging apps between my Tab S8 and monitor on Samsung Dex is not possible, at least I have not found a way to do it! I always have to click on the app and then if it’s already open in either the tab s8 or the monitor, there will be a popup message saying the app will be restarted. Indeed not as seamless as the iPad and Stage Manager.

Hi im using ipad 11 m2 with 16:9 monitor but the display on setting isn’t show me the mirror display on/off. I’m on 16.6 iPadOS. Also stage manager mode on
does it detect your monitor in the Display & Brightness settings? if not, then it could be that the monitor is not detected/not compatible with your iPad?

(Oops wrong series, it’s actually M7) This monitor have 4k resolution, i try using usb 4.0 type c cable that support resolution up to 8K monitor but still no luck. Multi-tasking and multi-window is horrific on Stage Manager where it's fantastic on DEX.
Tbh DeX is better,its even available on phone,even on my 5 year old Note9 and it supports wireless DeX too,its amazing

There is no comparison between Dex and Stage Manger. Dex is far superior.

DEX works also with a Galaxy Smartphone. Iphones don't have stage manager.

I bought Samsung S21 Fe just for the dex. If not I just gonna buy the redmi note xiaomi.
