I really tried to use it, but the old way it's better. Half the screen one app, the other one a different app. No need to have those small windows on the left taking up space.
I know this is super late but you don’t have to move apps over those parts of the screen with stage manager to get more space. If you long press the Stage Manager toggle in the Control Center, you will be able to disable the dock and recent apps, allowing you to use the full screen of the iPad. Basically you can switch those parts on and off which is nice unless they changed it.
Old ones better.. you can hide 1 small tab with just single tab anywhere on the screen…. Now the 1 Full screen tab and 1 small tab anywhere on the screen now it keep appearing behind the other full tab.. its annoying i never use stage manager anymore after that.. everytime man when i update to newer ones It get worst and worst! The multitask setting on the setting is useless.. it clearly no update at all.. i wish i can Reverse Time not to update to ipadOS 17 at all
Hi Brandon, great run through. I'm a sales rep and love stage manager. I like grouping mail, reminders, calendar, and messages on one stage and files, numbers and PDF Expert on another. I'll also have another stage with Safari and another mail window and messages window. If I need to I can drag any app larger without exiting out of the other apps. It's really been a game changer for what I do. Subscribed and I look forward to more. Peace!
I think it’s totally personal preference, but I’ll be going with the larger one next time because it’s almost a laptop replacement for me now at this point!
It’s not better considering they just slapped a computer desktop on top of it which switches the comparison to be between windows and macOS. And it falls behind those two. Owned a Samsung tab, didn’t like the dex because of how limiting and laggy it felt compared to Windows and MacOS. Using it didn’t remind of “hey feels better than iPadOS”. All it did was make me feel like I was using a worse version of Windows. Now remove the dex and return it back to a normal tablet os and got damn, the multitasking is god tier GARBAGE on it. Lesson of the day, don’t just slap OS and UI that is not made for your device because you can’t be bothered improving the already existing system. The Samsung tab literally left feeling this way: a shittier version of Windows (Dex mode) and a worse version of iPadOS (Samsung os) when it came to multitasking. Meanwhile, iPadOS doesn’t try to be macOS thank god, it does it own thing with multitasking while still allowing for a UI that is touch friendly and is suited for a tablet. Good luck doing multitasking on Dex without a keyboard/mouse because that experience is as terrible as the windows touch Ui. Then at that point, you might as well just ask “why not just buy a computer?”
It is literally useless if you don't use external display

Agreed!
Those windows on the left disappear if you move an app over them. Same with he task bar. No space wasted
@@blindsight_music_ thanks a lot buddy. I didn’t know.
Mine is buggy, I can’t drag and move a window. It’s a pain in the arse.!

Windows laptop has touchscreen, 99% of apps have full features websites, and you can snap windows galore.
I loved stage manager since iPados16 on my iPad Air
Stage manager is not Woking in iPad Air 4
They Haven’t given that stage manager feature?
Apple said it’s available starting at the 5th gen for iPad Air unfortunately
You need M1 Chip

Yes, in the description!
We need apps with more capabilities for iPad OS.
Agreed
Can you use excel on the bigger monitor and blow it up so it easier to use?

And having regard that the new ipad pro coming in early 2024 ! I am 😐
I think it’s totally personal preference, but I’ll be going with the larger one next time because it’s almost a laptop replacement for me now at this point!
Is stage manager on 9th gen iPad?
Can any app be resized in a stage manager window?
Samsung Dex is better.
