Difference in distance covered during one minute = 27 metres.
Typical max length artic = 16 metres. Rigid+trailer can be 18.5 metres, but these are less common.
Typically a lorry will pull out when he’s about four to five metres off the arse end of the lorry in front, he’ll typically pull back in when he gets a considerate flash of the lights from the lorry he’s overtaking to say, you’re all clear, pull in.
Time elapsed = 50 - 60 seconds.

When you were towing, I notice the load cover was deployed on the Scania, opposed to an open load for the Merc. I still reckon the Merc would have got trounced but the Merc must have had increased drag imposed on it. But it helped with braking.
This was the most exciting drag race I've watched in a while. I went for a quick lesson on the Pel, got off and showered, made a drink, had my drink, then got back in time to see the end of the race. #AmazingRace

Wayne Brown 56 on the limiter for the rest of Europe and UK 60mph is the max by law it has to be limited to 56mph the gap is for slight down hill sections.

The Mercedes seems to be shifting for fuel efficiency rather than peak power, unlike the Scania which seems to be going full on Chernobyl
Yeah, it didn't seen as a performance mode at all. It was still keeping the revs below 1500. Weird.
That's because it's a Euro6 truck, it's way stricter. If they put a measuring device on the truck it's only allowed to output twice the amount of stated emissions unlike cars who are never tested while on real roads.
@@Pspgamer789 Both of them are Euro 6. And I haven't seen a Euro 6 truck keep it in such low revs in real life performance mode. So perhaps he just didn't know how to turn it to P...
I know nothing about lorries but I do know that they're way faster than these two I work in a factory and I've seen drivers floor these things and its mind boggling how fast the acceleration is I dont get why these were so shit
That's seems very true! I have a feeling of these trucks were given to actual truck drivers who for example would use that clutch on demand, these trucks could probably post a second or two faster for their quarter mile times!

I think they both around 2500Nm
2350 Nm for the Scania and 2300 Nm for the Mercedes

well the merc got an 10,7l engine with 480hp and the scania got an bigger 13l with 500hp.. Mercedes have a version of the actros with a 12,8l engine with 502hp , should have been quite even ;)

@@kjell9661 that 20 hp loss doesnt make a difference on a 44 ton truck.. its about the torque curve between 900 and 1700 hp on most trucks... plus that 500 hp scania can also be a v8 instead of a straight 6.. mercedes doesnt build V8 actrosses anymore since the black edition... ( at least of what i know.. as i havent seen once since)

Basically, my dad's a lorry driver for the past. A lot, he drives a Scania P410 car hauler, lorry/truck transmission nowadays select higher gears like A3 A4 because you don't need the power, it goes lower with heavy cargo A2 or sometimes A1.
