(but still do use weights three times a week as well BUT lighter weights and more reps)....:):) OH, and of course don't forget to get your WALK in every day also!...be safe and healthy everyone!

It's good to perform exercises daily. I would advice this sweet lady to relax her jaw, and allow her breathing to be free all the time. In the nervous system jaw muscles affect the way your body keeps you in balance against the gravity, so if your soften your jaw muscles, doing movement exercises gets easier. Continuous breathing is also important, any time you hold your breathing, part of the spine becomes stiff, making it harder to move freely.

Gradual build up of muscle strength. Easy to follow. The shoulders to neck to top of head and chin positions need to be relaxed. Enjoy the whole body when exercising,. This can help to flow the energy. Clear demo. Alternative, Hover hands over a counter top or table doing the balance exercise. Help your balance to get better rather than challenge. Halfway tandem is good, one foot, beside, your other foot. Simple routine, will bring well being.... just “do” .....

Hi, my Mum isn’t quite this able. She’s 86 and has had several strokes which have affected her balance and mobility very much. She was able to do the seated ones, and she may be able to do some of these, but not the first one - getting up and down from a chair 10 times. Do you have any slightly easier standing exercises videos that last about 10 minutes?
I will be severely castigated for this comment, but I have to say that I was appalled when I saw this video, and amazed at the universally laudatory comments posted, many, horrifyingly, from young people. Obviously there will be many unfortunate people, who through no fault of their own, maybe from debilitating illness or severe accident, have been unable to exercise adequately during their life, or even recently, for whom these exercises may be taxing but are beneficial. That others, free of such constraints, find these routines both necessary and beneficial, at whatever age, suggests that they have neglected to take even moderate exercise over a considerable period of time. I was a keen club cyclist in my youth (I joined my first cycling club in 1948) and into my twenties. I then discovered squash, which I played on a consistently regular basis until I was seventy. I retired at sixty-six, bought a road bike and recommenced cycling, combining it with the squash initially. I will be ninety-one in three month's time, and am still cycling 100km plus per week on average - ignoring any possible derision I also happily wear my Lycra kit. In addition I regularly do a short work out routine using exercise bands. Undoubtedly I have been lucky with my health, but I am by no means ailment free. I have type 2 diabetes , high BP - controlled fortunately, and some years ago suffered an angina attack, which luckily did no lasting damage. This cooment is not intended as self promotion, but purely to illustrate

Nice, helpful video - thank you for sharing. However, on the last stretch, watch the video as there is not verbal clue as to the time passed until the next video. I had my eyes closed, focussed on breathing (trying to straighten a painful left knee / leg) when the next video started (LOL)!
i have moving disability. calcium deposited in my hips joint ,so it fixed i sit on high chair,it has long back support and shoulder rest (handle) ,tell me upper body exercises that i can do. I cannot move by my own ,stand with someone's support and can't move my legs

Instructor assumes that the participant can do 10 sit to stand exercises with arms crossed. My quads are very, very weak and I can only do about 4 reps without tilting and straining. Why do some instructors use a base 10 number all the time? How about 7 or 9? The video should also show a front view of the participant doing this exercise.

My advice would be to do the reps you can and then rest while you wait for the next exercise. Hope that helps.
I can't sit to stand without assistance at all! Why do these exercises always start at what, for me, would be a goal, rather than a starting point?
