I love these exercises. I’m only 16 but I’m morbidly obese (I know I shouldn’t have let it get this bad). But I have finally decided to make a change. Im hoping these exercises will help me get to baseline fitness because right now I’m so weak and it’s exhausting just to go up and down stairs. I’m promising myself I will stay true to my exercises every day and when I have lost more than 20 pounds I will comment here again. Wish me luck. Edit: Totally forgot I commented this lol I am down 25 pounds. I know it’s not much, but it’s better than nothing and certainly better than gaining more. The past 6 months I have been recovering from 3 broken bones in my foot and the 2 surgeries it required. I have been able to ride my bike a few times recently, so I’m hoping to do that more, especially when the weather cools down. I know building up the muscle I lost over the last six months and being mostly sedentary due to not being able to walk (and completely bedridden for at least a 3 weeks) made me gain back some weight and the loss of muscle mass will make it harder to exercise for a while. But I feel I can finally start moving in the right direction again.
Thank you for this real demo. I encourage my 91 year old grandpa to watch this and do those exercises everyday. He can keep up doing the steps even though he has arthritis.
Exercise doesn't always mean you have to do strenuous activities to strengthen your body and this video proves that as it helps people our age get better physical health through simple ways that are really beneficial. Thank you so much for sharing these with us and we appreciate it so much because you're helping us minimize the risk of falling hard which can lead into a serious injury. You remind us of Reviving Mind's health and wellness coaches who do their best helping people out with their physical, as well as mental, health.

Make sure you have them warm up well before their workouts to the best of their ability. Also, keep the environment warmer than you would for a younger client. Elderly don’t have as much subcutaneous fat (fat under the skin) and get cold more easily. If the gym is too cold, have them wear a jacket or sweats if the temperature can’t be adjusted.
Hi can you please elaborate what all exercises you included in the exercise plan? I'm currently working with a 87 year old too and she can't get up without anyone's help
the ones in this video plus I got her into a standing position and had her hold onto the back of the chair and to squats, heel raises, lift leg out to side and then directly behind her. Upper body stuff with a light band. She could walk with a walker but she didn't like to so just making her do laps around the living room at least got her moving. @@mugdhaaaaaaaa5113

I’m looking for videos for my dad since his body is destroyed from 20 plus years of working as a truck driver. He has a hard time walking and I want to set up a playlist for him so he can stretch everyday.

This video is great! I’m not a senior (although that’s how I feel most days lol) only in my mid 30s but I’ve been experiencing a decrease in ROM in my hips due to osteoarthritis. I’ve been dealing with arthritis since my late teens and It’s scary to be confronted with loss of mobility this early in life. Although I’m not sedentary, I stand and walk around at work all day long but it’s not enough. At the end of the day I can hardly move and it feels like I’m tied in knots. Instead of taking more painkillers I realize I need more vigorous aerobic exercise and to stretch more. I started with this, a seated hip stretch, a tai chi and a 5 minute “walk at home” RUclips video to get the kinks out. I was in so much pain after the first day I thought I had injured myself but I keep with it and now I can walk better than I have in almost a year. I’ve also lost ten lbs in the past two weeks by restricting carbs. The saying is true, if you don’t move it you’ll lose it 😉
I’m older than you by a decade five or take and most days I feel like an old geezer as well. I wrok in a grocery store and lifting and climbing is repetitive hell. I think I can benefit from this as well as my dad who’s in his late 80s. I hope he can be motivated to do them because it’s sad witnessing seniors or people in general allow their health to slowly deteriorate to the point where they no longer have the basic functions we all take for granted every day. The other day he knelt down and I didn’t see him for a few minutes until I realized he hadn’t got up. I went to him and he said he couldn’t stand up because his legs had no strength. I am so gutted. I’m obviously partly to blame for this of course. Seniors like toddlers need us to watch out for them.
Excellent video! I'm a proponent of bodyweight exercises and walking. The more we move our bodies, the healthier we are. Average walking speed studies show that an older person’s pace, along with their age and gender, can predict their life expectancy just as well as the complex battery of other health indicators such as blood pressure, body mass index, chronic conditions, and smoking history.
Very helpful. I’m in my 70s broke my leg and ankle in three places. Can no longer walk steadily because chemo damaged my inner ear. So no balance used to climb mountains and dance every day.
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else trying to find out exercise videos for elderly try Loctavan Senior Fitness Strategy (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend got amazing success with it.
Thank you. My dad is 93 and getting less and less mobile. Stays in bed too much (by choice) these days. He has Alzheimers, but if I do the exercises with him he’ll do them. When I bathe him I can see just how much his muscles have wasted, which contributes to instability and increases the chance of fractures should he fall. I have been looking for exercises in EXACTLY this simple, well paced format for him to follow on TV (thank heavens for Smart TVs, I can cast this clip on his big TV to follow - he would struggle to follow it on the iPad I gave him, eyesight not so good)
OldRaver1 There are a lot of benefits to exercise for older adults! I am a certified personal trainer and made a video about it if you are interested: ruclips.net/video/pVEK2ORhF_Q/видео.html

Hi pradip
I do these everyday. I am over 65 but fit. I have a hard time with how slow these are. Brain yoga is good too. Speed it up to help the cortex
Thank you for posting these exercises❣️
Not certain about the points made but ,if anyone else trying to find out exercise videos for elderly try Loctavan Senior Fitness Strategy (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my friend got amazing success with it.
This is excellent. Thank you! ❤
Thought I'd take it easy with these sitting down relaxing exercises but they were anything but easy! By the time I got to the leg lifts I knew I'd have to work! Anyway, fantastic workout. Do you sell those bands as I'd like very much to buy them if you do. Thank you so much.
These exercises might seem elementary, but they really work. They especially make it easier for people who can't stand for long periods.

I want to help My Senior Lady Friend (74 y/o) to do some exercises so She can help combat Her Lethargy Brain fog and Osteoporosis. I don't even have a routine down for Myself and I'm 45. I really do want to help Her out though.
How nice
Good videos thank you. The last videos I looked at for seniors had them doing things that 50 and 60 year olds can do but not 80 and 90 year olds!
This is such a wonderful chair-based workout! I know that this was released several years ago, but it is a perfect sequence to provide a little gentle mobility to the entire body. And I love that it's suitable for all levels and abilities! I subscribed to your channel because chair-based (yoga) classes are my favorite to plan and film too! ❤❤❤
